Recommended Customer Reviews

Compass Restorations is the best. They replaced my roof and it looks great! Their customer service is fantastic. They met with my insurance adjuster and then Anthony took the time to explain everything to me. When the guys finished working, they cleaned up and left the yard better than when they got there.

The people from Compass Restoration completed my roof replacement. They were very professional with their inspection and communication during the project. The work was done in a timely manner and the quality of the work was great. They made sure every detail of the work was exactly right. I will call them again when I need some work done at my house.
Thank you Compass Restoration

Our experience with this company was a nightmare. Carlos promised us things that this company never provided. Then, so many things went wrong that he was taken off overseeing our project. We were told he would be on our property overseeing all aspects of our project when we signed our contract. He never showed up and would call and tell us that there was an emergency with his worker, he had a family emergency. They messed up on all they were hired to do: new roof, siding, gutters and painting. It was a nightmare to get them to fix all their mistakes and dispose of the trash. The trash stayed on our driveway for days. They never had a dumpster on our property to dispose the trash. After several attempts to get our problems resolved, we were told ""case closed"". We then reached out to Channel 7 and they helped us.
Let's start with our roof. After we demanded for them to resolve our issues, there was a review of our roof by two different roofing contractors, which Compass Restorations, LLC. sent to review our roof. They both confirmed several items were done poorly. They did not secure or seal our vents, tube lights properly to our roof. This resulted in the singles to lift around these areas and might let moisture in. Our roofing shingles also started to curl, buckle and wave above our gutters. This happened because the metal flashing was installed incorrectly. This problem was repaired and is still not correct. It is better but not correct.
Maybe, if the City of Evans would have had their final inspection completed on the roof, we might not have had these issues. The City of Evans completed their final inspection from the ground not the roof. On the request for the City of Evans to complete the final inspection, there is a notation to call Carlos 30 minutes before arrival. We then had three different roofing companies give us quotes, as instructed by Channel 7. All three companies agreed with the two roofing contractors sent by Compass Restorations, LLC. Two of these contractors said to really correct these problems, a new roof should be installed.
Now, onto the siding. Here again, there were delays in getting started with the same excuses mentioned above. The first major problem was they tried to talk us into putting the siding over our existing siding to add more installation. Here again, Carlos was not on our property to oversee this project. We told the workers to stop and we had to call Carlos on the phone and he verbally instructed his workers via a phone conversation to remove our existing siding and install and replace it with the new materials. Carlos sent these workers home for the day. They tried to correct their problems. In one area they had to redo it three different times and it is still a little wavy. On this siding replacement, they never secured our gas line back to our home and did not put enough nails in, so our siding began to wave and nails came out. On some of the siding boards we have chipped corners and the boards do not match up in some areas. The way they corrected this problem was to caulk them into place and paint over them. Well now, the weather conditions have popped these band aid repairs back out. When they painted over their repairs the paint does not match and we now have streaks where the repairs were done. I then made an immediate attempt to request these problems be fixed and again I was told ""case closed"". They would not read any further emails I sent when I followed up to repair this. The emails were returned to me as ""not read by recipient"" and this was by the owner, Joe Ortiz. The siding is still wrong.
Now onto the gutters. Our back patio gutter was installed incorrectly. It was hung too low and caused the water to sit in the middle of the gutter and it did not drain properly. They finally fixed this but the new gutter now has dents in it from this repair.
Now onto the paint. They did not scrape off the old paint in some areas and painted over it. We have paint that dripped and ran on the siding from over spraying. There are also paint drops on our concrete and an outdoor patio rug. We even have one new window screen that has a streak of paint on it.
Finally, when we first signed this contract, they gave us a business card which indicated they were located in Aurora, CO which turned out to be a branch office. We later found out this company is based out of San Antonio, TX.
Hopefully, with this review, we might be able to save someone else from the nightmare we experienced and are still having problems.

We received hail damage from a storm earlier this year, and used Compass Restorations to assist us with getting a new roof, new window, new screens, new light fixtures, and repair to our deck and fence. Our Project Manager, Carlos De Alba, was very professional and responsive and reliable. The great service we received from Compass and Carlos helped to make a really stressful situation much easier to deal with. I would highly recommend their services to anyone!

When the last hail storm came through we received a call from Carlos at Compass. I figured he was just a storm chaser and I said no thanks. Well I'm glad he put some reasoning in my head. I agreed to a free ""inspection"" and sure enough he not only found hail damage but a busted skylight too. He took the initiative to cover the skylight that day. Carlos took the reins and contacted the insurance company for us and explained the process since we had never filed a claim before. I had lots of questions and he was very accommodating. He was professional from the get go to the very end. When the job was completed Carlos and the crew did a great job in cleaning the area ..especially looking for roof nails. I appreciated that since we have 2 German Shepherds. I took his business card since I foresee more projects in the future and would love to give him the chance to give us an estimate. Thank you Compass and Carlos for a great experience.

Positive side: they did put a roof that is adequate on the house.
Negative side: the details that were promised did not happen. They were wrong about how insurance would settle the claim. They made a large mess and did a half-hearted job in cleaning it up. They destroyed pieces of landscaping and did not mention it until I caught them. Overall, the ""details"" were either neglected or omitted. I believe that there are better options available for the Bryan-College Station area after seeing their work. I would avoid this company.

Jose was very helpful and professional, excellent workmanship, took the extra time to paint all my vents for a updated touch, crew clean up after was very good and they were careful around my landscaping, will recommend, Thanks again
Rick

My friend recommended Compass when I was searching for a company to do my roof. I'm so glad I called ! Such a great company everybody that we worked with was so kind and professional! No complaints here ! Anthony , Jose and Carlos were all great honest guys!

Hello, Compass Restorations is a great company, very professional, on time, responsive and reliable. They replaced my roof and also my neighbors roof, where a heard from them and now I would like to share and recommend them here as well.
They replaced my entire roof in a single day!!! Easy and clean! I was worried about the nails due my 2y child, but they cleaned it all! Not nails at al!!
Also, they work directly with my insurance, which made the process really easy and with no issues!
I would like to recommend in case you need roof or any damage repair.
I worked with Jose!!! Very nice guy and trustworthy.
GOod job Compass and thank you for the good work!

Compass Restorations roofed my Mothers house in San Antonio. It was an insurance claim due to the hail storms in 2016. My Mom was dealing with Joe and Anthony for the project. There were quite a few issues that we had during this process.
Crew was Very messy, it did get cleaned up after my Mom and I both picked up and Anthony picked up some nails also. We are still picking up nails tho.
They charged the insurance company for items they did not replace. Vent caps and other items like flashings.
They told us they were going to put 6 nails per shingle instead of the normal 4. They did not do 6 nails per shingle. I had the roof inspected and I have pictures of the 4 nails they installed. There was a bunch of nails that were nailed through the shingle due to improper nail gun parameters that should have been addressed by Compass.
San Antonio requires building permits which Compass did not do. I checked and they are indeed registered with the city.
I had the vent caps replaced and the shingles nailed properly. I did not call them about these issues.
I feel that with an insurance claim you should get the very best your money can get you.
