I saw this company on Yelp because I like working with people and companies who are nearby my job site. I called to request for an estimate for a roof repair or possible roof replacement. I didn't hear back for about a week, so I called them again to follow up. The lady who answered the phone told me that the estimator stopped by our property and said he wouldn't be able to do the job because the street would make it difficult for his trucks to do the job. I was a bit confused because that was the first time someone had mentioned that they couldn't do a job. The next day I called back because I wanted to let them know that there's a parking lot in the back, which should make the roof more accessible for demo and bringing up new material. But no one answered the phone. I submitted an inquiry on their website, but no one responded or called me back.
The number one rule in business is communication (other than getting the job done obviously). And this company doesn't have it.

We have 2 commercial units in Carson, CA. Roof leaking issues had been a constant problem after the big rains. We have someone fixed it but the problem never goes away and re-occurs right after the 6 months or 1 year warranty period expired. We called several roofing companies to come in to estimate the roofing work. Some recommend a brand new roof, some recommend a silicone coating; some don't even bother to return a call or show up for estimate. Commercial Cool Roof Systems is a top notch in professionalism in term of replied to your inquiry by phone call and email and set up the appointment. I deal with Ray directly and he address all my questions and concerns. Their quote wasn't the lowest but was so detailed and spell out all the steps and works need to be done. I decided to go with them even though the booking was set to 3 months later due to their busy schedule.
On the date they start the work, I went up to the roof to check it out and take some photos. The workers are so efficient on every steps. They were very respectful to our tenants, no noise and clean up everything. There were some area that was not mentioned on the works needed to be done and was not on the quote, however, Ray just went ahead and cover it without ask me for a few more bucks.
The work was outstanding and I am very happy with them. We will definitely use them again. We would recommend Commercial Cool Roof Systems to anyone for any roofing works.

I want to thank Ray and his crew for doing an amazing job on my building. I own a small retail and office building. The roof is 20 years old and was starting to get small leaks. It looked as though it needed replacement soon. Ray had his crew do extensive preparations on the roof. They made sure everything on my flat roof was getting proper drainage by leveling it with a concrete material. The air conditioning ducts were wrapped with special materials and coated. The roof had materials laid and coated many times. It looks great and the best part of this job is that I saved nearly 50% of the cost of putting a new roof and got a 10 year warranty!

I'm on the board of my condominium building's HOA; when we decided to install solar panels on the roof in 2010, we wanted to make sure our roof would last a long time, since re-roofing would be difficult and expensive after the solar array was installed.

To extend the roof's lifespan, we've had Ray and his company install a elastomeric coating of our condominium building's roof twice now; once in 2010 (just before installing the solar array) and a recoating this month. Both times they have done an excellent, professional job and gone above and beyond what was required. Ray in particular has a very good command of what is required to keep a rooftop in good condition and is committed to doing things ""the right way"" and not just ""good enough for now"". In addition to preparing and recoating the roof, he also detected and corrected a number of drainage problems that would eventually have lead to leaks and other roof-longevity issues, and made sure that the mounts connecting the solar array to the roof were properly waterproofed.

Our roof had had occasional leakage problems in the past (before 2010), but we haven't experienced any leaks since the coating was applied, and as a side benefit the condos on the top floor of the building remain noticeably cooler now in the summer than they did before. (Before the coating was applied, you could feel the heat radiating down from the ceilings in the afternoons; now the ceilings remain cool even on hot days) Also, their prices are quite reasonable compared to the competing bids we obtained. We'd definitely recommend this company to anyone interested in a cool-roof coating.
