I had this company come out in December of 2022 and check my roof because there was damage from recent storms. Joey Scott came to my house and promised me ""This is a home run, we can definitely help you out"" He told me he would get ahold of our insurance and that when the insurance adjuster came out, he himself would be there with me when they came so I signed the ""contract"" to get the ball rolling. When it came to the day when our insurance adjuster came out, Joey was not there as promised and after that it was impossible to get ahold of him. With all of this and after hearing neighbors' horror stories and reading bad reviews online we tried to get ahead of the game and get out of the ""contract"" we signed.
I called their home office and left my name and info like the recording said to do and waited to hear back from someone. It slipped my mind for about two weeks then when I realized they had not called back I called again and still nothing. I then dug through my emails, text messages to find any other contact at CMR who I could actually talk to. I found a name and number and gave that person a call, their VM said ""This is ______ and I am no longer working for CMR, please call ________"" .......Whoever this person was probably found out how shady this company actually was and got the heck out of dodge!
6-8 months later I finally got in touch with someone and they told me it will cost $1000 to be released from the contract. This is where I am currently at and I don't want to pay them a dime as they LITERALLY DID NOTHING FOR ME!!!!
If I could give this company ZERO STARS I would, do not fall for their empty promises......RUN THE OTHER WAY IF YOU SEE THEM IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
I did contact this company to give me an estimate and I heard from my neighbor. They did lousy job so I hire someone else now they are an invoice for cancellation. This is insane. I would never recommend this business to anyone.
CMR is a scam and after receiving full payment of $44,500 dollars for a new roof, they strung us along for over 3 1/2 years. All the while the owner lives a lavish lifestyle and sponsors a NASCAR racing team. Search You Tube and watch the video ""The Rise and Fall of CMR."" We finally sent them a letter cancelling our contract for failure to perform and job abandonment which is Florida Law. You are not obligated to pay them any monies for cancelling the contract as long as they have not done any work for 91 days and you send them a certified letter canceling the contract. IMPORTANT: File a complaint with the Division of Professional and Business Regulation (the DPBR) at 850-487-1395 or the Florida's Attorney General Office at 866-9-NO-SCAM . They will assign an investigator but you won't get your money back. If enough people file a complaint, the state can take away CMR's business license. We gave up and now are paying $23,500 ourselves to finish our roof (CMR had already done a portion of it). Good luck!
Peta-Gaye J.I entered into a contract with CMR in March 2023 after Joey Scott knocked on my door, promising they could help me get an insurance claim and fix my roof. He assured me they'd connect me with a lawyer, and I signed the contract, trusting them. Fast forward 19 months, and although I now have a settlement check, this company has turned out to be an absolute nightmare. CMR is facing serious cash flow issues, which is evident not just from online reviews but from firsthand horror stories, like my neighbor who had to wait THREE YEARS to get her roof fixed.
Now, after all this time, I'm trying to cancel the contract and am hit with the outrageous demand of a 25% cancellation fee--something Joey Scott conveniently FAILED to mention when I signed the contract. This is unethical, dishonest, and downright predatory. My insurance claim came to $26,000 (after a deductible of $6,800), and the quote CMR gave me was magically the exact amount needed--$32,800. How convenient! This reeks of manipulation and deceit. To add insult to injury, I've gotten 10 other quotes for the same work, all ranging between $17,000 and $21,000.
CMR is now trying to squeeze $8,200 from me--a hefty 25% of the $26,000 settlement and my deductible combined--just for canceling. This is robbery, plain and simple. My goal now is to make sure no one else gets trapped by this sham of a company. CMR Construction and Roofing is a disgrace to the roofing industry, preying on people who can't afford such massive out-of-pocket expenses.
DO NOT USE CMR CONSTRUCTION & ROOFING! Any 5-star reviews you see are likely fake. Stay far away from this predatory, deceitful company!
My parents have been in a 3 1/2 year HELL with this company. This company TOOK their check given to them by their insurance. They have had a contract for yearsssss with no contact and absolutely NO work done. Now they're saying their keeping my parent's money if release their ""service""?! Unbelievable!!! DO NOT use this company! We are in touch with attorneys and the AG. If you also have been scammed by this company and have a recommendation on an aggressive attorney- please give me names and numbers.
Run the other way.
They do not keep their word.
Run and don't look back
Very bad experience and worst when they keep your deposits
Do not use CMR Construction on any circumstances. Look for another company. Zero credibility, terrible customer service. They don't answer the phone or email. Our experience with them was traumatic.
If I could give them a (NEGATIVE -5) review, I would. AVOID CMR Construction & Roofing!! They came to my house promising to work with my insurance company to get me a new roof at no cost and promised they will take care of everything with no headaches. They did not provide me with an immediate estimate as ""everything was under control"" and I foolishly believed them. DON'T fall for this, don't sign anything with them and read all the reviews which are true! This was over 13 months ago, they have not done anything else, the claim has taken forever to be settled, because of the ""ongoing"" claim I'm unable to get another insurance, my mortgage raised up over $1,000 per month as the bank included their own HOI into my loan. Their estimate is 3 times higher than other roofing companies. After a year of not moving forward I requested the cancellation of the ""agreement"" and they answered ""Unfortunately if you opt out before any resolution there will be a cost incurred that was accumulated due to the length the file has been open. The amount is $1,521.00, You can make the cashier's check payable to CMR construction and roofing"". I will follow up with a lawyer as after over 6 months of outrageous mortgage payments they are coming up with a bill for doing absolutely nothing. Absolutely SCAM!!! Be aware that HOA's are warning homeowners about CMR Construction & Roofing entering the communities without permission, my mistake was not reading the warning before. I will report them to our HOA to reinforce the ""entrance restriction"" of this ""company"" into our community.
DO NOT HIRE CMR! Since Feb 2023, started new roof process. Fast forward 13 months and no new roof, no start date, no materials delivered. NOTHING! Bad or no communication with both sales and project manager. Filed Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint and CMR didn't even respond to BBB. AVOID THIS COMPANY!
They mislead you in your claim and all they are looking to do is take your money. The insurance company rejected the estimate because it was too high. They try to scare you by charging a fee to cancel. Finally after after consulting an attorney I was able to cancel the contract. And, a year later they are still asking me to pay a fee for the cancellation. Florida law prohibits a third-party assignee from including the following charges/fees in an AOB: A penalty or fee for rescission of the AOB during the timeframes outlined in the AOB. A check or mortgage processing fee. A penalty or fee for cancellation of the AOB.
I will joint anyone willing to sue this company for malpractice.
