Recommended Customer Reviews

I hired Citrus Contracting out of Orlando based on the recommendation of a Realtor. It was for my parents' house. What a nightmare! John Robinson came and seemed like the nicest guy. They helped us put in an insurance claim. After that it was a nightmare! We had to sign checks from insurance over to them, they didn't show up as scheduled and worst of all, the roof LEAKED after they installed it! They did a crappy job and now will not stand by their work that was supposedly guaranteed for 25 years with a transferable warranty. When my parents filed a complaint, he called and told them he will no longer give them a warranty!

This company was recommended to me by a co-worker who had the roofs of two of her houses worked on. She gave such high recommendation that I called them and gave their phone number to two other co-workers since we all had hurricane damage on two roofs.
The sales guy, John, showed up pretty quick to give us the sales pitch saying that they would take care of everything even the insurance claim. This was around October 2022. The roofs were finally worked on and completed in May 2023. The delay was due to a Citrus Contracting disconnect in communication with the insurance company and the tubular skylights. Both roofs were completed in a week, but there was no supervision/manager to inspect the work on a daily basis or even at the end.
Then, I got a bill from Total Home Roofing for wood that was replaced (supposedly). This is when I find out that Citrus Contracting had the roof done by another company. On May 11th I texted the contact I had for the roof, Rey, to come an inspect the job because the soffits were not put back correctly and there were fascia gaps in various places. This is when I started to get the run-around. No one would come...Rey finally texted me back on May 23rd that he would e-mail the ""warranty department as they are the ones that handle repair issues."" I texted him again on 6/19 since I had not heard from him and he responded on 6/20 pretty much asking me to contact his office directly.
I called the office and there was no help there. The sales guy, John, showed up to see what needed to be done because they wanted to get paid. I showed him the gaps and he insinuated that they were no big deal and that if it bothered me that much that we could fix ourselves or get someone to fix them. I was quite clear that I would not pay until the gaps were worked on. This went on for months and the gaps were finally dealt with.
Now here we are in July 2024 and the roof is leaking exactly in the same area where the wood was replaced. The leak is affecting the wall that the main garage and the dining room share. The wall now has brown water marks which are probably going to develop into mold with all of these Florida rains. My husband called a friend of his to investigate the leak and we were told that some shingles were missing and that there should have been a flashing installed on the roof in this area to divert water from the house.
I have called Citrus Contracting and left voicemails (7/26, 7/30, 7/31, 8/7/2024) with the Warranty Department and the Sales Department, but no one has returned my call. This is probably going to bit another battle.

I am very disappointed and so regretful that I hired this company. As of 08/18/2023 the work that they were contracted to do is still incomplete! On 10/25/2022 I was solicited on social media after posting in a local Facebook group looking for a reliable contractor. I expected a few messages but not such a promising message offering to meet all of my construction needs. To my surprise I was contacted by Citrus Contractors but I was told that they are owned by Angi, as in Angie's list. They said that they can definitely do all of the work I had described in my post and even offer to help with my insurance claim. I thought it was perfect because I had so much damage in so many different areas of my home and I knew I would need a lot of different types of trade work in order to get my home back to how it was prior to the storm. Unfortunately, it has not been perfect. It hasn't even been okay..its been a nightmare that has been going on for almost a year. They have caused more damage, extensive damage that wasn't there after the hurricane, and are now refusing to fix it. They are also charging me the full amount of my contract without doing most of the work, and are cheeky enough to put it in writing. They put a lien on my house after knowing that my roof failed inspection, but will not communicate with me. The roofers that they sent were all drunk and I have video proof of them drinking alcohol while working on my roof. They've left such a mess at my house that a roofing nail embedded in my husband's leg while he was mowing the lawn, he was out of work for a week fighting the infection that it caused. They have fired almost every person that has had any contact with me. I do not recommend this company to anybody. They are horrible! Not only do they do bad work, but the refusal to communicate with me as a customer is so disrespectful. At this point, I may have to hire a lawyer in order to be made whole and to have the lien removed from my house. A lien that was put on for the roof that failed all three inspections and had to be replaced. My home has been in a constant state of construction since October of last year. This should not happen to anyone. This is not how a good contractor does business. Do not hire this contractor, in fact, put them on a list of terrible contractors that no one should hire..be warned!

What a shotty job these hacks did on my 27000 dollar roof they are the worst company all around to work with DO NOT CONTACT these hacks Frank Valentine there boss told me it passed so you're stuck with it 3 to 4 Day project took 3.5 months with trash in my front yard just glad no homeowners association here

Disappointed, exasperated, and fed-up would be how I would describe my experience with Citrus Contracting and Total Home Roofing. And as an organization which touts themselves as one of the most highly reviewed companies in the country; they have dropped the ball on ALL of my expectations.
This company came HIGHLY recommended by a very close and trustworthy friend who had hired them to do two entire re-roof projects on two separate houses. My friends couldn't say enough about what a fantastic experience it was and how superior their customer service was, so I was looking forward to working with them.
This has NOT been my experience. While everyone I have spoken with has been pleasant and professional on an INDIVIDUAL basis (Nate, Luke, Gabby, Rae, Josh, Patty, Bri, Yolanda, and a few others whose names I wasn't able to capture), as a WHOLE, there are many broken internal processes which have caused me to continue dealing with this project - and repairs for things they broke or damaged during the work - for the past THREE months.
The amount of time I have spent following-up on their work, chasing down answers to questions, late arrivals, no call/no shows, simply trying to reach people (NO ONE answers their phone; they always allow it to go to voicemail), dealing with poorly functioning phone systems, etc., etc., etc., is unacceptable.
From my vantage point as the consumer as well as someone with decades of experience with high-end customer service, there seems to be a glaring corporate climate of passing the buck. Being told over and over and over things like: ""I'm waiting on a call from this other department"", ""I've contacted the other department but they didn't know"", ""that's not part of MY responsibility"", ""do you know who did that work?"" allows them to continue pointing fingers and placing blame, but no one actually takes ownership of an issue and/or follows through to ensure it's resolved.
So, as I write this, I have been informed that a team is supposed to finish the work tomorrow (10/14), but based on my experience with them thus far - I'm not holding my breath. As far as I am concerned, this citrus is rotten.
