Finding a contractor in Charleston that will show up on time and do quality work is hard to find. Charleston Roofing exceeded my expectations and delivered a quality product for a reasonable price. They also installed 6 other roofs on my street and everyone was thrilled with their experience.

Well, I gave them 5 star after Matthew cos they came out quickly and did the repair at a low price...
So the roof didn't leak since then, but now leaking again in the same spot, not a big leak and I understand repairs can't be warranted to never leak again..I just want it fixed...so was told I'd have to wait 2 weeks...I waited 2 weeks and was 20 min home early for a 3 o'clock appt and was told Scott lived nearby so would be no problem to do this on his way home. I get home 20 min earlier than the appt. time to find a card in my doorway and an email quote for $850 to ""replace shingles and any wood that needed repair"" ...So you come early and can't wait a few min to show me where exactly the problem is and specifically what and how many shingles to be replaced and I can't get any answers back via phone. They don't return voicemails. I did get an email saying they just did a roof inspection from the outside and if i wanted them to look at the leak from the inside i would have to reschedule...the shingles don't look damaged and none are missing and aren't that old ..8 years...

i'm wondering if i should have gotten a metal roof now...getting the feeling roofers and car salesmen work together.

Never have they once answered their phones. Initially we had Charleston Roofing and Exteriors come out and repair our gutter system ($900) which appeared to be a good job; however we then notice they did not finish the job. They repaired one side but forget to repair the the down spout and connect to the house so we had to call them back out to fix. They then came back out to fix and now the gutters aren't draining properly (this is only a week after the repair) and as a result is running down the side of our house making extremely loud noises. We've tried to get them back out since to fix however they never answer the phone nor do they return your calls. We have been extremely polite however this has become a nuisance and a bit ridiculous now that we've gone on for 3 weeks without a returned call.

They never showed up for the appointment for the initial estimate. I called the company to find out if they were just running late or what the deal was. The person who answered the phone said she would call the guy and find out where he was and she said she would call me back. They never called back and never showed up.

Ripoff company. Wanted to charge me $1200 for a dozen broken shingles. Told me I had to replace the long vent on peak of roof, had 2 other contractors who actually got on the roof, something this guy didn't do, say the vent was fine. Was also trying to pressure into redoing whole roof. This company is very fortunate I didn't report them for price gouging in hurricane after math, was very close to doing.

The estimator failed to show for his appointment at our house. Wasted MY time and when we called the business later in the week, they gave us some outrageous estimate over the phone based on a satellite image! What?!!!
