Beware-do not use this roofer. Requested hurricane straps as part of the cost to place a new roof (December 2024) so we would receive a substantial annual credit on homeowners' insurance. They installed the wrong hurricane straps (used wrong material) and installed them improperly (wrong installation process) and this was verified by a licensed home inspector and another licensed specialist contractor. Our request for a homeowners insurance discount was refused by the wind mitigation inspector. We lost the approximate $2,700 refund annually. We requested a refund for the hurricane straps so we can have the proper 'clips' installed, and the roofer has refused. The roofer keeps sending photos showing they installed hurricane straps but fail to address the issue of incorrect material and installation process used. They took no responsibility to remedy the issue and to date have not provided a refund for the incorrect and improper hurricane straps. Beware!

RUN... DON'T WALK! Our roof by Chappelle has been one of the biggest disappointments we ever had for work that's been done on our home. I didn't want to go with their company, but my husband insisted that you had recommended them highly. In addition to other BIG problems, we just noticed we have no roof vents and this is definitely not acceptable. I noticed something seemed missing when I compared our roof to other roofs but my husband said Gibson had put the roof vents on the work order and assured him that they would be installed. Don't get me started on Gibson... he was basically useless every time we tried to contact him... he always had an excuse days or weeks later as to why he didn't respond. Well, today my husband finally started really looking for the roof vents closely and discovered we have NONE! THIS NEEDS TO BE MADE RIGHT! We have no roof vents and this is definitely not acceptable. In addition, our tiles were 3 colors and they weren't laid properly. This isn't right and you need to fix it!
A huge problem is the disorderly look of the roof. If they come back to install vents I hope they don't make it worse. They even installed busted tiles. I met with Gibson in my kitchen before we signed a contract with him and asked him ""if we choose a 3 tone tile for our roof, would his company lay it correctly"". I explained to him that I had seen neighborhood homes where the tiles were laid in big patches of one color here and another big patch there, with no regard to staggering the colors like the tile catalog shows in their pictures of homes. The catalog had a nice picture of a home with the tile we chose. After asking numerous times to see a roof Chapelle had done in those colors we were considering, he finally responded with an address. We went to see the house and the roof was done very well just like in the catalog. It was laid in perfect order just like the same tile in the catalog pictures so we had him order that tile. Again, Gibson had assured me that his roofers lay out the multicolored tile in the correct order like the house we saw. I was encouraged when I saw how the delivery crew put the bundles of tiles on the roof. They laid them out in alternating colors and rows. But instead, the crew that came to lay the tiles laid them in clumps of colors paying no attention to how the bundles were laid out on the roof. We have big patches of dark areas and big patches of medium and light tile. Of course, when our Chappelle roofers finished just a portion of the roof, I tried to stop them but they just motioned that they didn't speak English. My husband encouraged me to let it go because it would be okay. Now the entire roof looks like a terrible with random globs of color. As the crew was finishing, a guy pulled up in a white truck... I assumed he was a supervisor. He informed us that the crew manager couldn't make it to our job so he sent his son who was new. He said the father would be so proud of his son and how he managed the job to which I say .... that's a load of bull. It's a crappy job!
I am just so disappointed. And we have not advocate for us in this matter. Our home is really the only investment we have.

Carlos sold me the roof on 10/8/24. I was told 3 weeks. Contract said 4-6 weeks. I called in 7th.and 8th weeks 4 times. Told they would get back to me.Last time I was finally told to call Carlos. Carlos said ""I fell through the cracks"" whatever that means.Set a start date of 12/23. 2day job. Carlos called on the 23rd. and tried to sell me rafter straps even though the already existed. I tried to make sure they would return the next day. No one on site could speak english. Tried to get a hold of President Blake who was out. No response. Called him again and Nicole called back. She said Blake would not be calling me back no matter what. She threatened to put a lien on my property even though they were not finished. A bunch of leftover material was on my lawn for over a week. City signed off on 12/31.

While selected people in the company were professional, the owner Blake was not. After replacing the whole roof, There was a mistake made where they messed up the neighbor's roof; after several rounds of negotiations, they fixed it but refused to honor the life Time warranty of the shingles. Tried to reach Blake to discuss the matter everyday . No phone call back, no show for a scheduled meeting , nothing; very unprofessional as the owner. I see other reviews now and they all had similar experiences with Blake.Just very disappointed how he treat his customers !!! A poor manager. If he treats his customers this bad, you wonder how he treats his employees.

Chappelle Roofing recently replaced a 168 feet of ridge caps as a result of Hurricane Milton. I needed this done quickly as I was closing on the sale of my house. Mr. David Clews was my contact point and he did an outstanding job completing this task with a fair price. I was extremely pleased with the work and professionalism. As a result of my home inspection, the inspector thought I had a moisture issue in my attic. Mr. Clews also did a quick inspection and found their was no issue with my roof. I would highly recommend Chappelle Roofing to anyone in need of their services

If I could this company would not have any stars. The company is less than honest and will LIE. Do not hire before reading their 3'page contract. Also read the comments in BBB. They will make promises and show you a one page contact which the other 2-pages negate. They don't give you a copy of the contract saying they will email you a copy which you won't get until after your right to rescind has lapsed. Should you have to go to court, again the owner will lie and have his employee lie. You are better off hiring the crew hanging outside Lowes or homedepot.

Chappelle re-roofed my house after I sustained damage from Hurricane Ian. Their subcontractor, against my objections, installed my new dripedge over my existing rain gutters, removing every hanger during the process, although the contract I signed clearly stated that my gutters were to be detached and refastened to install the new dripedge. When this situation occurs at a corner, the joint can be a gap of one half inch allowing water infiltration and is asthetically unpleasing. Although the Building Inspector agreed with me that this action would not allow me to replace my gutters in the future without trashing the dripedge and possibly my new shingles, it was not a violation of the current Building Code and therefore it was allowed. I've requested that Mr. Chappelle come see my issues for himself at least 6 times with no response. Chappelle received their final payment in December of 2023. I would give 0 stars if possible and will never recomend them to anyone.

In Nov 2021, they came out & insisted that I need a roof replacement, put a tarp on my roof & nailed thru the underlayment. I called numerous times & was told that someone would get back with me & they never did. Last week, water started leaking into my house & I called & told them that I will call WFLA. That day they came & removed the tarp but water is still leaking inside. I've called daily since & was told that someone will get back with me. To date, no response. Calling Behnken/WFLA, DOA.

I meet John while he was in my neighborhood working with a crew. He was professional and extremely helpful with all my questions.

I would give them 0 stars if possible. DO NOT do business with this company. I called Chapelle to fix a leak in my roof over my kitchen and another leak on the eave of my porch. The owner and his friend came out to give me an estimate. They said my roof was in great shape and they could fix my issues for $1000. They then started speaking about valleys and channels and other roofing terms. I told them as long as that means my roof will stop leaking that sounds fine. They came out to fix both areas. Their foreman showed me pictures of their work and I said thank you and promptly paid my bill. My roof began LEAKING A MONTH LATER! Five months later, my roof continues to leak again in the same spots. I have called several times and asked if they can come back out and fix these issues. The owner and his friend came back out and looked around and said they would be happy to send the crew back. That was the last I heard from them. I followed up a month later and they denied that they had ever agreed to work on the eave or that the owner had come back a second time/said he will send the crew back again. They offered to come out and reappraise my job (that they had already allegedly done). I asked about their guarantee they advertise on their website, they said that only applies to new roofs. They are now unwilling to do the job they were contracted and paid for. Find another roofer, this company is one to skip.
