My experience with this company has proven to me that they do poor work and are not a trustworthy company. The owner refuses to honor his word and stand behind the workmanship warranty he advertises.

The roof that was installed on May 14th of this year has a lot of damage and the work is sloppy. The project manager even made the statement "" it looks like ....."" He stated that the crew was not the normal crew and that he never seen them before, referring to three out of the four workers.

Some of the issues with this roof include:
* missing drip edge
* tore/damaged roof shingles
* shingle overhang that is not uniform around the perimeter of the roof.
*in some areas a regular shingle was used rather than the starter shingle per manufacturer instructions.
*flashing that was installed incorrectly and after instructed not to put up.
*the shingles around the edge lift up in places because they were not nailed down.
* there are damaged shingles in multiple areas of the roof. Some of the shingles have damage from the workers boots, you can see the imprint.
*shingles around the A/C are to long and have an excessive amount of roof cement that causes the shingles not to lay flat on the roof. The roof cement is oozing out from underneath the shingles.
* 2+ inch tear in the cap shingle.
*Nails in the roof that have not been sealed to prevent water from seeping in and causing damage.

I wanted a high quality roof that would last many years to come, that is why I chose the class 4 shingle. And of course I want it to look nice as well. No one wants a new roof that is damaged.
Mr Chappell gave me his word he would fix all the damage. He now states it's merely cosmetic and doesn't effect the functionality of the roof. Which is false. I have made multiple attempts to get this resolved and as of today my roof is still the same, damaged.

We recently got our roof done by Chappel Roofing and we're very happy with the work Thomas and his crew did. Thomas came the same day we called. He's a very nice young man, very professional. He listened patiently to what we wanted and wrote up our agreement so we knew exactly how much it could cost us. His price was reasonable and fair. He also made sure that we were properly reimbursed by our insurance. We didn't have to pay until the job was completed to our satisfaction. We had to wait a couple of weeks for our shingles to come but once he got them his crew came and they got right down to business. They were able to finish in one day.

We have recently had lots of rain so to ensure everything was tight before I posted this review...Nearly 3 Weeks into my investment, and many hours of research prior to agreeing. The choice to use Chappell Roofing was by far the best choice.
From the initial phone call, I appreciated Miss Theresa put me at ease, and as a Veteran, I had many questions lolol.... That was important to my wife and I especially since we had random storm chasers knocking on our door in the early morning(s) and late evening(s) trying to force sell us with disaster scenario tactics and low prices. They even promised us not having to pay a deductible, (against the law) and some even posed as other roofing companies!!!..
The Chappell representative that came to visit (Thomas Kiefer- 20 years of experience!) us was presentable, professional, kind, sincere, and concerned with getting us not only the best deal. He asked a question I had never heard before. ""What can we do that will make this an experience you can feel comfortable with?"" He and Chappell Roofing absolutely delivered!! Thomas offered information about the Veterans Giveaway Chappell holds to install a free roof to a veteran who cannot afford it every year! My wife and I were shown every option from best-value to best-quality, (there is a difference) So we did not just hover over pricing. The proper installation of quality materials defines the worth of this investment. Also, we were not rushed!!!
We were shown and explained the longevity of materials and the truth about dark colors and heat displacement versus lighter ones on the roof. How important matching the siding strip and venting completes an installation. The durability of shingles and metal roofing. Our materials arrived as scheduled and placed for the crew. The crew was strategic, efficient, professional, and the Lead explained what they were going to do 1st and kept the trash to a minimum better than anyone I've seen!! We chose the Charcoal Shingles...Our new roof looks amazing!!
They completed the entire installation in a days' time, cleaned up, and we are absolutely satisfied with the Price, Professionalism, Personal Sincerity towards our concerns, as customers, and the Commitment to Excellence of Service Quality! Thomas and Chappell Roofing have completely earned our respect and trust. Treating my wife and I like Family and not just customers. Thank You for that! Your many years of experience and commitment to the people and businesses of this community, made this investment simple to understand, and gave us the confidence to clearly see Chappell Roofing was the right choice!!
