The roof estimator is a hard headed and difficult person. The potential customer is on his schedule. When he makes mistakes he never fixes them promptly. It is only when he feels like it. Since customer service starts with him, I suggest you look for another roofing company. The company thinks too highly of themselves. Nice not to worry about the next job. Do not spend your breath with him on the phone.

I was asked by a neighbor who lives in the Valley who did my roof and gutters. I told him Cen Cal Roofing.
He called me and asked if I had looked at Cen Cals Yelp for reviews. I told him no. He advised that I should. So here I am.
I am taken back by the few negative reviews here. My experience was/is 180 degrees from these negative reviews.
In transparency, I was a licensed contractor years ago. I have been a business owner for 36 of my 60 years of life. So, suffice it to say I understand contracting and business.
My experience with Rusty was nothing short of professional and cordial from our first meeting in October of 2020 during the Pandemic. He responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He communicated that the material I was requesting was on a long back order. He promptly quoted my roof and my cooper rain gutters and explained the material was scheduled to be here in March of 2021. I had 3 other estimates done before I contacted Cen Cal and signed my contract.
March arrived; job was scheduled.
When Cen Cal arrived, I had installed over a 1000 sq' of stonework that included my driveway. They took extra care of my hardscape and did an excellent job.
We had epic rains in the fall of 2021 and I encountered 2 issue. One in the gutters, and one in the ""cricket"" around my fire place. Cen Cal responded in a reasonable time frame and corrected both issue with great service.
I just put another house in escrow on Friday the 18th and will be asking Rusty to come out for an estimate this week. Obviously I am a satisfied customer!!!
Beware of ""keyboard cowboys"" that attack local businesses that have endured the test of time. The markets will eliminate what I call the ""imposters"" of any industry.

I had a total roof failure done by a friend of a friend. Shed type torch down roof. Total failure, water dripping down the inside walls.
Rusty and crew came in and redid the mess and did it for less than the guesstimate
They are the best, I highly recommend them.

I live in Cambria, folks had many recommendations but I decided to go with Cen Cal. I am not sure if it was the customer service, the price, or the wonderful energy the Can Cal Family put out.

I love my new roof. The quality and execution on getting this old roof ripped off and replaced was incredible. They sent over a wonder SQUAD of roofer that just came in and made the magic happen. Every time I drive down the road and I see that beautiful new hickory roof I am just so PUMPED. Thing is a work of art. They did a great job tarping off the area, even the driveway before they pulled in. They were so clean, and professional. I definitely recommend this family business. They did such a great job. You get what you pay for, but they didn't gouge me on price at all.

Do yourself a favor, call these folks to do your roof. Meticulous clean up as well. The ONLY thing left behind was ONE staple, which is incredible considering how much work is involved. They are AWESOME!

CenCal Roofing is redoing the roofs at my apartment complex in San Luis Obispo and I would like to start off by saying I have never been treated with more disrespect in my life! A day before they arrived a note was on the door just saying roofers would be on the roof, the next morning I woke up at 7 AM to a worker (wearing casual clothes like an average person so you can imagine my freak out/ fear as a young college student home alone) when he was climbing over my back patio fence from the creek without ever knocking or letting me know he would be entering my private area in anyway. I contacted the company manger to inform him that he needs to ask/let us know they will be entering our private patios, yet he hung up on me before I could even finish ( EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL) The next morning they came back so I let them in the right way (through the DOOR) and I could hear them saying rude inappropriate comments about me, then opening up my patio fridge! Just to see what I had in it!!! They then took down my string lights, of course breaking multiple of the bulbs, that took me an hour to put up and renting a ladder to do so, I asked that they could hang them back up before they leave and they straight up said NO that's your problem!! Lastly they left so many nails laying around that not only has my friends tire gone flat but my dog had to go to the vet because he stepped on one of their nails!!!! WORST ROOFERS EVER NEVER EVER HIRE!!!!

Their bid was $10,000 higher than the next guy and the reason he gave for it was because he didn't hire Mexicans! Needless to say I didn't hire them!

I guess you were implying that you didn't hire illegal Mexicans then when you said it? And the bid I got from the other guy was better and not just a simple re-roofing they did all the repairs and everything. You can call me a liar if you want but it's what you said it was very offensive to me! I called the company when you sent me an email asking me if I was going to schedule the roofing... And told them I was offended by what you said I got nothing in return no feedback from you that you were wrong and that you wouldn't do that again or to clarify any meaning of what you said. That's why I posted it on Yelp.

Rusty and Quade and the crew are fantastic! Now only did they do our roof, but fixed some major structural issues that were discovered. They also even picked up the pieces on a project that a contractor who was not reputable abandoned. They are kind, courteous and do it right. Hire these guys!

Called them to repair a roof for us in October 2018. Called them several times after that and finally got a call today ""March 2019"" about giving us a bid. I did not even ask for a bid I wanted the roof fixed. Found a different company to go with. I will never use them again and I will let anyone know that they should try anyone else.
