Our neighbors (who we like very much) hired CENCAL to re-roof their house. The first day, one of the CENCAL trucks was blocking half of our driveway. We asked the crew three times and called the office once to get the truck moved. It was not moved. Additionally, when the roof removal started, I noticed significant amounts of tar chips had fallen on our sidewalk between the houses. I asked the crew chief is he would clean this up at the end of the day; he said he would. After the crew left for the day, I noticed nothing had been cleaned up. I called the office, and was told someone would be out immediately to clean it up. This person came without a broom or dustpan so he borrowed our neighbor's leaf blower, He blew much of the tar debris into our bark, making even more work for me. I called the office again, and was told the manager had gone home and he would call me the next day. I am still waiting.

The next day, the same crew came out and walked across our yard.

CENCAL is a local company, but does not treat locals well.

I couldn't be happier with CenCal's work. I needed to replace not just the roofs on my split level 1970s home, but the decks that were on top of them. CenCal's crew was more than up to the task and have completely transformed my house. Rusty checked in regularly to make sure the job was always done right and his input was always spot on when it came to the most challenging design issues. We threw more than few curveballs his team's way, including having them install set of double doors on a less than level surface and to figure out how to mount a metal awning above it. We've since had them back to diagnose and help alleviate a drainage issue and to make my mess of a laundry room functional. Once again the work was top notch.

Stay away!!!! As unprofessional as you can get. Called to get an appt. No advance warning, man calls gives 10 minute advance notice to come over to inspect the area that needed repair. I specifically asked them to give me enough notice, 24 hour minimum, to be available. Tried to get him to come back, nothing doing. Snippy woman put on manager who would not listen to me, cutting me off continually, yelled at me and said to do business with somebody else! Do NOT use this company. They deserve to go bankrupt for treating their customers with such contempt! What a nightmare. Will never, ever call them again! Can not believe such rudeness and nasty treatment!

I had CenCal install a steel roof on my new home, in Atascadero. I post five stars, because 10 stars isn't available!

My wife and I were having trouble finding the color we wanted for our new home. (a light gray) Our contractor was useless to help. Don, the owner of CenCal, stepped in and personally helped us find that color! A pleasure to deal with!

When they did the installation, they sent out some really nice people who did an amazing job! Their attention to detail was top notch. Little things like folding the corners and terminations was exquisite work! Total professional work!

I'm VERY happy with their finished product and would recommend this company to anyone!

I am very disappointed in Cen Cal Roofing. Last fall I had Rusty come out to inspect the roof that they had installed about 12 years ago for my Uncle. My Uncle died and as beneficiary, I was getting the house ready to sell. The home inspector (another company) said that I should have it inspected. Rusty told me that the roof was in good shape.

Fast forward to June. I accepted an offer on the house. The buyer had CenCal out to inspect the roof. Rusty again inspected it and gave the buyer a bid for $6444.00 to repair the roof. So the buyer wanted the price of the house reduced to reflect that bid along with a few other things. I was shocked that in a period of less than a year, this was the case.

I called CenCal and asked them to have Rusty call me and explain to me how I could reconcile the difference. They said they would pull the file and have Rusty call me. He never did.

Long and short of it is that I view their work as suspect. And their customer service as lacking. They ended up costing me money on the deal and I suspect the reason that Rusty (or anyone else for that matter) didn't return my call is because they could not reconcile the difference.

I will not do business with them again.

CenCal Roofing, had a reasonable bid and were recommended by a contractor to replace my leaking roof. Had to wait a very long time because of our rainy weather, they did not offer to tarp roof, we did so ourselves. Finally came out, removed old roof, chipping my existing skylights in the process (could have covered them). Had to come into house to use bathroom, leaving a mess on carpet. They did not return to clean up as stated on contract. I am still picking up tacks and old asphalt from my flower beds. There reasonable bid turned out to be exceeding high. They did not come back to check anything and demanded payment. I certainly would not recommend them ever!

These guys are the WORST! I contacted them regarding a roof leak on my rental property and spoke with an extremely rude man who was less than helpful. I explained that I had a leak on a small flat roof and would like to have someone look at it, make a suggestion and possibly repair, which might entail an entire new roof. He gruffly said ""We don't give estimates...we charge $95.00/hr."" He then gave the phone to a much more pleasant and professional woman who told me someone named Rusty would be up in a week or so to take a look at it.

Yesterday, my tenant at that property told me he found some guy from CenCal walking around the house (without knocking at the door or introducing himself) and just said ""This roof looks like s_ _ t"" and then left. He never even took the time to actually get up on the roof or to contact me, the owner.

I would not give this company one penny of my money!

Contacted CenCal Roofing on Sep. 14,2016, signed contact for a simple job. Here it is Oct. 10, 2016 still not finished.CenCal Communication with Customer: Substandard, Time Management: Substandard. Should it rain,....Liability is on CenCal for any/all damage, plus court cost.
Recommend this business,...not very likely!!! I wonder, I guess I should take my time in paying for the work?? Maybe I should wait the same time it takes to complete the job,..after all.

Thank you Cencal. Roofing is a formidable task. I needed a roof replaced for a rental in SLO.
The staff was always available to answer my questions. The person who wrote the estimate was knowledgeable and professional. So happy with the work done. The carpenters and roofers did a great job taking a beat up old house and transforming it with a new look. They completed the job on time as promised.
