CenCal Roofing, had a reasonable bid and were recommended by a contractor to replace my leaking roof. Had to wait a very long time because of our rainy weather, they did not offer to tarp roof, we did so ourselves. Finally came out, removed old roof, chipping my existing skylights in the process (could have covered them). Had to come into house to use bathroom, leaving a mess on carpet. They did not return to clean up as stated on contract. I am still picking up tacks and old asphalt from my flower beds. There reasonable bid turned out to be exceeding high. They did not come back to check anything and demanded payment. I certainly would not recommend them ever!

These guys are the WORST! I contacted them regarding a roof leak on my rental property and spoke with an extremely rude man who was less than helpful. I explained that I had a leak on a small flat roof and would like to have someone look at it, make a suggestion and possibly repair, which might entail an entire new roof. He gruffly said ""We don't give estimates...we charge $95.00/hr."" He then gave the phone to a much more pleasant and professional woman who told me someone named Rusty would be up in a week or so to take a look at it.

Yesterday, my tenant at that property told me he found some guy from CenCal walking around the house (without knocking at the door or introducing himself) and just said ""This roof looks like s_ _ t"" and then left. He never even took the time to actually get up on the roof or to contact me, the owner.

I would not give this company one penny of my money!

Contacted CenCal Roofing on Sep. 14,2016, signed contact for a simple job. Here it is Oct. 10, 2016 still not finished.CenCal Communication with Customer: Substandard, Time Management: Substandard. Should it rain,....Liability is on CenCal for any/all damage, plus court cost.
Recommend this business,...not very likely!!! I wonder, I guess I should take my time in paying for the work?? Maybe I should wait the same time it takes to complete the job,..after all.

Thank you Cencal. Roofing is a formidable task. I needed a roof replaced for a rental in SLO.
The staff was always available to answer my questions. The person who wrote the estimate was knowledgeable and professional. So happy with the work done. The carpenters and roofers did a great job taking a beat up old house and transforming it with a new look. They completed the job on time as promised.

Put a metal roof on our 1903 schoolhouse which is filled w/ all the expected and unexpected quirks and Idiosyncrasies you could dream of. - absolutely no complaining or drama- just smart and thoughtful work on the part of the crew.
Terrific crew, wonderful job, delivered everything the owner promised.

Terrible terrible communication and customer service. Do not expect to get your problem taken care of in a timely manner.

We contacted Cen Cal to fix our Spanish tile roof back in October of 2015 and to have the area around our chimneys repaired where some flashing was originally improperly installed. After coming to provide a bid and estimate we decided to go with CenCal because they said they could get to it by December, faster than the other bids we received and in time to beat the major rain. After silence from them all through December we finally called back in mid JANUARY to find out if we were even on the schedule. We were given the run-a-round saying that they were behind schedule and now there was rain forecast so they wouldn't be able to do anything until after the rain.

After not hearing again for another month we called back in mid February and asked to cancel our contract. They immediately got someone to come out the next day to come and begin the work of removing the tiles and replacing the rotten face board. Great, except that after removing everything and only laying tar paper the two man crew left and said someone would be back later that day or the next day to finish cleanup and reattatch tile and do gutters. Well, the pile of trash was in our driveway till the next afternoon and no one showed up to finish re attaching tile and putting on gutters or to redo the flashing we needed them to do in the first place!!! That work was done 2 weeks ago and they still haven't returned to finish the work. It's already rained 2 inches since then and I'm not sure how no flashing in the chimney is protecting the new work they just did!? We have called back and they have said they would get someone to come out and they never have.

This is all barring the fact that they completely ignored the second chimney on our roof that was part of the original bid and claim that it wasn't in the scope of work of the original bid.

This has been an extremely frustrating project to go through with them. I would never recommend their services to anyone. We are also tied into their contract now so we cannot hire a different company to come and finish what they started. This is a poorly managed and run company.

Cencal installed rain gutters for us in May of 2015 and were promptly paid for that work. During a big rainstorm that we had on July 18th, we discovered that the gutters were installed wrong in such a way that instead of the water draining out of the downspouts, it actually poured over the end of the gutters on the opposite end, ruining several hundred dollars worth of landscaping.

We made our first call to them describing the problem shortly after that and after 3 or 4 calls they finally agreed to send someone out to look at the problem. The first employee saw the problem but had no idea how to fix it so he had to bring another employee back with him. The second man new how to fix it and said he would get it on the schedule. After months went by and many phone calls where they kept promising to make the repairs, the rainy season began and we had another company make the repairs and paid them to fix Cencal's poor work. It took them less than an hour.

Their service after the sale is terrible and obviously they are not familiar with how to properly install rain gutters. We are going to need a roof next year and definitely will not be using Cencal.

Employees left trash and materials all over the driveway/walkway on most days they finished the job. After bringing some valid concerns to the company the crew became hostile, cat calling and trying to intimidate me by being confrontational and yelling comments from the roof across the way. This company is under contract by the Home Owners Association that manages our neighborhood, we are actively working to get this contract removed. If you hire someone to do a job and bring up a concern, you should not fear that the crew will become hostile and come after you.

They do super professional work, AND best of all they always have a smile on their face and are great to deal with.They are also immediately responsive in a professional manner whenever there's been a problem. I have hired Cencal Roofing several times over the past few years. They have completed around $50,000 of work for our property. Every time I have hired them for work they have shown up on time. Also on the first day they are to start work one of the owners will be there and introduce me to person who is to be in charge of the crew working that day. All the work they have done was always completed on time and on budget. On one job they broke a light by accident in which they replaced promptly. Any issues I have ever had with their work, all it takes is a phone call and they are there as soon as possible to remedy the problem. I have more planned work to do on my roof and will be contacting Cencal Roofing to complete the work.
