Roof
C & C Remodeling and Construction
I suspected I needed roof repair or roof replacement, but I was concerned about making an unnecessary claim and my premiums skyrocketing. I reached out to Clinton on the Nextdoor App and he came by to check my roof and advised me to make a claim. He also came out to my property again to meet with the adjuster so they could check the roof together. This whole transaction went smoothly from beginning to end. I've had bad experiences with contractors before and this company has restored my faith again. It was such a pleasure dealing with an honest and kind businessman. He and his team are very professional and I recommend that you consider them as one of your estimates first any work you may need. A+

We recently had our roof replaced with CC Remodeling and Construction. The crew from start to finish took only a day and a half. Our roof looks great! Clint was very responsive with all of our questions and concerns and we will definitely be using CC for future projects.

Clinton was professional in every detail. Quick response to provide an estimate, very fair price, amazing work (and extra detail given around our fireplace to assure a problematic leak would not return), and hiring of very conscientious employees. I can speak only good of the amazing roof he put on our old farmhouse!

Great experience using CC remodel for my patio roof. Clint came out and gave me an estimate on a Saturday. Monday morning him and his crew had the job completed in a few hours. Awesome work and communication throughout the process. I def would recommend!

When we decided to get our house and detached garage roofs replaced, we solicited bids through Thumbtack and also through some local Facebook groups. After having four different contractors come out to provide us quotes, we chose to go with CC Remodeling and Construction LLC. While not the lowest priced, we felt comfortable with the quote and the owner appeared to be a stand-up guy. We eventually asked for gutters to be added to the scope of work and agreed on a price.

After taking out a loan to finance the work, we paid the deposit (half the total cost) up front to CC Remodeling and Construction LLC. When we first received the estimate for the work, we were told it was a two day job. That two days turned into at least six days, which was very inconvenient for us because we had workers on site for several days longer than anticipated, and that meant one of us had to be home at all times while workers were present on our property.

Eventually, the work was finally done, minus some minor repairs that required roofers to return and fix the issues. Upon completion of the work (not including the minor repairs done after the main work was completed), we wired the outstanding balance to CC Remodeling and Construction LLC. The owner needed to get paid so he could pay his employees, and so we took care of that.

Below is a list of reasons why we cannot in good conscience recommend using CC Remodeling and Construction LLC for any work to be done to your home or business:

-As previously stated, the work was estimated to be completed in two days but lasted six days, and even then we had to have workers return at least twice to fix issues. There are STILL some issues (torn shingles, etc.) that have never been resolved, and I'm quite sure the owner will not be willing to take care of them after we leave him this negative review.

-On at least two occasions, to include the last time workers had to return to fix some problems with the roof, the workers reeked of marijuana. I'm not going to tell someone whether they can smoke weed, but it becomes a problem when you smoke weed and then get on a ladder to work on our roof. Not only is that a potential safety issue, but I can't imagine someone doing a very good job on our house when he's high on pot. I have no idea where the owner got the employees he used, and to be fair the owner can't exactly control whether an employee is high, but it doesn't give the impression that the owner really knows who he's hiring when some of them show up on the job site after apparently having smoked weed in their vehicles.

-Days after we paid the remaining balance to the owner, a couple of gentlemen who had been subcontracted to install the gutters showed up to our house demanding payment for their work from us. We paid CC Remodeling and Construction LLC, who was then responsible for paying the workers and subcontractors for their work. The gutter subcontractors indicated that the check the owner of CC Remodeling and Construction LLC issued them had bounced, and they were demanding that either we pay them or they would file a mechanic's lien against our property. After having done some research, it was determined that they could not file that lien because we did not have a direct contract with them, but the point is that they should never have come to us demanding payment in the first place. The owner was responsible for paying them, and the fact that his check bounced indicates that he did not manage his business's finances properly.

-The gutter subcontractors relayed to my wife that the owner of CC Remodeling and Construction LLC referred to my wife, on more than one occasion during his conversations with the gutter subcontractors, as a ""bitch"" and a ""stupid bitch"" because she was bringing up issues with substandard work (the reasons workers had to come out twice after the work was supposed to have been complete) and insisting the issues be resolved. As stated earlier, even though workers returned twice, there are still some issues with the work that have not been satisfactorily addressed.

-We inquired about getting a copy of the permit from the owner of CC Remodeling and Construction LLC so we could have it for our records. He stated that a permit was not necessary for the new roof. However, I called the city of San Antonio and confirmed that a permit was, in fact, required. When I asked if there were any reasons why one would not be, I was told that there are none and that a permit should have been applied for prior to commencement of the work on our house. Now I'm concerned about getting a citation from the city because our contractor did not obtain the required permit for the work that was done.
