I'm writing this follow up to address work at another house I recently purchased that CB Roofing had replaced the roof on within the last year. I want to emphasize that the work they did on my previous house I am still pleased with, but that's the reason why I engaged them for some work on the roof at my new house, for which my experience was nowhere near as pleasant or acceptable.
The new house i purchased had a solar water heating panel on the roof that was removed prior to CB Roofing replacing the roof last year. However, and for reasons unknown to me, the pipes for the panel were left projecting out of the roof approximately 1 foot. Not only was this unsightly, the penetrations are just one more place for a leak to begin in the future.
As a result, I contacted CB Roofing to come out and give me an estimate on repairing the roof in this area after I had removed the pipes, each taking an area of maybe one shingle tab each. In addition to this repair, I also wanted them to install a Velux tubular skylight dome on the roof, which I would supply.
The estimator came out and was prompt and professional. He advised me that since the work would require a minimal amount of time for them to perform he had some limitations on cost, which I totally understood. In other words, there are jobs too small to be worthwhile from a profitability standpoint - I've worked in the service industry and I completely grasp their position.
With this in mind I also made it very clear that I would work with them as far as scheduling in order for them to be able to do the work at a time when it was most advantageous to them, that is, on very short notice so they could use the job to fill in the remainder of a work day, for example.
He then asked me for a price - what I felt the job was worth. I asked for an idea, he suggested $650, I said $500, he countered at $600 and we came to an agreement.
Then he had to call the office to confirm that a permit was not necessary.
He gets off the phone and tells me that a permit is necessary and it will be $200! He seemed confused and a little distressed by this development. I can understand why, as the County does not require a permit to be pulled for roof repairs such as this - I checked. Not only that, the cost of a permit for a complete re-roof is under $150, so how can a permit for repairs (which doesn't exist, I might add) cost $200?
Needless to say I did not engage CB Roofing for the work I required. I felt they were trying to take advantage of me, or possibly just pricing the job to a ridiculous amount because they didn't want to do it.
Either way, the business practice that they employed in this case was inappropriate and in my opinion bordered on unethical. I'm saddened by this event, as I feel strongly about patronizing businesses who provide good products and services, which I have received from CB Roofing in the past.
I would have preferred that they simply said the job was too small to be worthwhile for them, as I would have understood, rather than trying to take advantage of my loyalty as a customer or gouge me.

Aside from a full roof replacement, we were having a pitch added with foam insulation to a flat section of roof, having two skylights over our lanai replaced, and having our super gutter sealed. We should have had a hint when issues began right away. The sales guy Josh called and said he mis-quoted us on skylights and to get the ones he quoted would cost us an extra $750 or we could choose a lower quality skylight. It just went downhill from there. On the day of the install, we confirmed at least 3 separate times with the crew, who spoke very little English, that they knew of the additional work to be done. We were told yes each time, but had a feeling that no one actually understood what we were asking. We inquired one more time and eventually had the foreman pointed out to us who could communicate with us well enough to let us know they knew nothing about that part of the job and didn't have the materials there for it. Had we not kept on top of the crew, they would have done that whole part of the roof wrong and were planning to reinstall our old skylights. So they had to sit and wait for materials to be delivered. After they finished, we took a look and even knowing nothing about roofing we could tell the pitch was put on the roof badly (there was about a foot wide gap between that section and our regular roof where the shingles were just hanging loosely) and the skylights were clearly the wrong size. (The roof failed inspection due to the pitch problem.) After that things never really improved..... On more than one occasion a crew would show up for repairs (or sometimes not show up), but they wouldn't know what they were there to do and/or again didn't have the materials..... Wrong skylights ordered again..... it was weeks and weeks before they even touched the gutters.... Long story short, 6 months after we signed the contract our roof is finally completed to satisfaction and we have paid the bill. Even that was a poor experience, as we asked if they might show some consideration on the final amount due to the poor experience and not only did they say no, but they tried to deny all the issues or make excuses for them. (I have emails where they contradict themselves, and they even denied that it failed inspection, which is in black and white on the county website!) The only saving grace for this company was that everyone we dealt with did remain professional and courteous, and they did persist with sending out workers until everything was completed to satisfaction, but what a headache to get to this point. (And I also have to wonder if that would have been the case had we paid the bill immediately.) So much of it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company.

CB Roofing left my project half completed and required me to do their job by sending pictures to prove job was undone. Are they having problems maintaining their subs? Are they not paying their suppliers? Customer service is awful. Robo letters threatening liens were unnecessarily aggressive - especially when they acknowledged the work was incomplete! It took CBRC 6 weeks to start the job, the subs left before completion (less than 50% complete and with materials left on the roof), I had to call CBRC to ask them to come back and was then asked by CBRC to take pictures of the unfinished roof and pink plastic packages of roofing materials left behind. After almost 100 days since the contract was signed and multiple calls made by me asking for someone to finalize the job - Patrick finally showed up. Do Not Use This Company - customer service is horrific, job is incomplete.

ZERO STARS IF I COULD! If you need a new roof do not use CB Roofing. They ripped a hole in my interior wall which they refuse to pay for. It also took them 8 weeks to finish punch list work which they still didn't do correctly, but I was tired of dealing with them and told them to send the invoice for payment. I received the invoice last Friday. I Mailed a check on Tuesday. Today I get an email and a voicemail saying they are going to lien my property or send me to a collection agency for non-payment! It was 4 days. Absolutely unprofessional and insulting.

I only gave 1 star because it's not possible to give less. My experience with CB Roofing was less than positive. I find they are dishonest and unprofessional. When they do work for you they send a crew, or at least claim they did, and leave no indication they had been to your home and the work was performed. When I inquired about a bill or something from the crew that had supposedly done the repair job I was told they spoke no English and that I would receive a bill via email. I did receive the bill via email and promptly paid it. A year later I have incurred substantial damage from the leak they supposedly repaired. A new crew came out to my house and discovered a rather large hole in my roof for which the ""expert"" told my husband there was no way that hole could have been missed and it's not a new hole. When I called to complain I was told that we paid them to repair popping nails and such. I explained that I paid them to repair a leak and that it was incumbent upon their ""expert"" to fix wherever and whatever they needed to in order to complete the job. Nonetheless, DON'T TRUST CB ROOFING! At this point they are assuming I want a free roof from them, but I wouldn't trust them to put a roof on my my dog's house. The only thing they can do for me is refund, repair and apologize for the mold that is now growing in my living room ceiling.

I called them for an estimate . They made an appointment for the roofing specialist to come out. He called me and instead of coming out he was rude and incredibly unprofessional . As a senior I felt totally disrespected. He did no favor to his company. Go elsewhere. There are many more options and you actually get professionals.

No cheap ,Still had new roof replaced ,5 moths later received City letter that it had not finish Permit/Closing/Passing ?
I kept calling the company ,they kept saying it was mistake but will take care of it ,Still not done.

Had the roof replaced early this month. The roofer/s left a minor detail of leaving the downspouts just hanging from the roof. We notify Mike Sandlin - CB Roofing contact person and did not even bother to respond back to us. We emailed Kasey of Customer Service and as always, she will respond back several days after. The people who works there are so incompetent that they do not sense any urgency in getting back with you. Today Kasey called to collect on an unfinished job and hang up on me. She is the rudest customer service rep ever. I really regret dealing with this company. So save yourself with the stress and bring your business elsewhere.

I had a leak in my roof at the eave and called CB Roofing who came out and assed the situation. Even though I was pretty sure where the leak was , they suggested that I have more intensive work done to be sure. They also suggested that I replace my topcap with another system that would insure better venting than what I had. They showed me pictures of some rusty screws and places where the former roofers had not actually placed a screw. Keep in mind that my roof was 15 years old and I had had no previous problems with it. I agreed to the work.
About a month later they came to fix my roof. After they left, I went to check it and found several places where it was much less than professional. Perhaps they thought that an old woman would not do this.
First of all, they did not have enough material to finish the top cap on my garage. (By the way what they did do for a top cap is unlikely to create more venting, is not visually pleasing, and was a waste of money.)
Next, They left a glob of tar along the edge of the roof and they did not bring all of the shingles to the edge of the flashing as it should have been.
Since the leak was around my electrical pipe and on the eave, the way that they left that was horrible. They cut a square around it and did not attempt to fit it. This was visible and ugly. All the fixer did was caulk around it still leaving it ugly .
I noted a gap between the shingle on the high side of the rubber boot that they used around the electrical pipe and the shingle and also the shingle was not attached to the roof there. You could mash down on it. This allowed water to collect under the shingle. This was the place that had the offending leak that need to be fixed in the first place.
On top of all this, they made no attempt to clean up the nails on the ground where I ride my mower and my golf cart. There was no supervisor to oversee what was done and no one contacted me to say that they would be back to complete the job.
Naturally I complained about all of this and then after a few days, on Friday, someone came out to ""correct"" the problems. He began the work but was unable to finish because of rain. When he left, I again had to pick up nails from my driveway, because he did not. He returned on Monday to complete the job.
I have some trepidation in posting this as I have a ""lifetime warranty"" on their work, but I feel strongly that people who are professionals need to do their work professionally and the homeowner should not have to go behind them to see that they do. This job was not cheap and should have been done correctly in the first place with a supervisor finding any flaws and correcting them before I found them.

DO NOT use these roofers!!! The crew showed up at almost 11am on July 3. Didn't finish, so my roof was under tarps for the July 4 holiday. The tarps blew off of the roof during a storm. The crew finished on July 5, without even letting me know they were finished. They left a bunch of materials in my driveway and yard. I was not informed about that, either. I was told by the foreman that my roof was to be inspected on the 16. I called the permit office this morning, and was told that the roof failed twice; first on the 3rd, and again on the 13 (before the inspection I was told was scheduled). They could not give me any information, I was told to call the contractor. Another surprise! The person who I spoke to had no information. CB Roofing totally stinks, communication is non-existent, and after two failed inspections, the quality of their work stinks, as well.
