Several calls, voice mails and texts over a couple of weeks and I have yet to receive a call back. I'm under a warranty for work done and need some help. So here an existing customer with work under warranty is being completely ignored, most likely so Cascade doesn't have to do the repair. Terrible business and no integrity. (Where's the option for zero starts?)

From reading the roofing trade reviews, it's a wonder anyone ever gets their roof replaced. My experience was that Cascade is one of the most professional roofing companies I have ever dealt with. Beginning with the appointment for scoping the job and bidding, owner Ryan was always on time and forthcoming with relevant information. The bids--for roofs on two separate buildings--were eminently reasonable. The crew always arrived on time and, unlike most contractors, who seem to disappear once they get the contract, Ryan closely supervised the work. I would add that the jobsite was in a hilly locale with a narrow road. I'm pretty sure that some of the roofers who came to look at the job were scared off by the daunting logistics and therefore never got back to me with the promised bid. Cascade deftly handled all of the obstacles on this challenging job.

Chances are that if you are reading this review, you are in need of a new roof and are searching for a roofing contractor whose professionalism, performance and pricing will help dispel the dreadful experiences we have all heard we must endure at the hands of roofing companies. I have had my share, and did not look forward to another struggle trying to find a dependable source. As with many Marin residents, the torrential, winter rains forced me to cover my flat, tar & gravel roof with a huge tarp, nail it down, and wait it out. While I looked forward to spring, I did not welcome going through the difficult process of making the calls, meeting the companies' representatives, collecting the bids and sorting through, let alone understanding, all the marketing propaganda.

A couple of companies never even called me back; others told me to call them back in September; the foam-roof giant only returned my calls during the 7:00-8:00 pm dinner hour, when I had specifically asked for daytime communication. The bids I received from those roofers who work on the side on weekends, ostensibly offering better prices than their employers during the week, ended up being thousands of dollars more! Some bidders failed to show up for their appointments and did not even have the courtesy to call to say they weren't coming. This whole process was turning into a month-long migraine!

Then I called Cascade Roofing. From the start, they restored my belief that contractors don't have to be socially inept, irresponsible, dismissive, dishonest and devoid of professional customer service!

I was told Ryan would arrive to inspect the job and supply a competitive bid. We met at the exact time of our appointment. Ryan took his time and we discussed the issues particular to my job. He later provided his bid, via email, but I had a few more questions and asked if he could return a second time to talk them over. He was just as punctual for our second appointment, listened sincerely to my questions, which he answered completely, and we shook hands on the deal. He left with my deposit check, and said he would call to schedule the work. Less than two weeks later, on a Friday, Ryan called to say he could start the job the following Monday! Ryan comes from the heart; his sincerity and thoughtfulness are a gift to his company and his customers. He's a very hard working family man!

These guys know what they are doing! A crew of six arrived exactly at 8:00am, each worker had his own task to perform, (laying protective plant and ground tarps, setting up ladders, loading tools and supplies on the roof, positioning the debris truck, identifying areas where rotted wood needed replacement, etc.), so it was like watching an orchestra play together, while Ryan conducted and supervised. Two days later, the job was done and everything was completely cleaned up, as if they had never been here!

I cannot recommend Ryan, his caring sensitive crew and Cascade Roofing enough! Very fair pricing, (the best out of seven quotes), punctuality, professionalism, customer service, and most of all, quite the opposite of all those other roofing companies who strike terror into your heart when you need them most! Put your mind at ease! Call Cascade Roofing!

After six calls that were never answered, I finally got a return call and made an appointment for a roofing estimate. When that day finally came, they never showed up. I received no call, no explanation, and after trying to reach them, finally realized they just don't care to answer their phone. Doesn't say much for ""Diamond certified.""

If I could give Cascade no stars, I would. TWICE I waited for them to keep an appointment and twice they were a no-call no-show. The first time they claimed the roofer had had car trouble (surely he had telephone of scheduled jobs and could have called.) I never heard from them after the second no-call, no show. I guess I should be glad I didn't contract with these losers to do any work! Find another roofer!

Cascade Roofing WAS terrific when they came, quoted and ""fixed"" the leak in our roof early 2015. It rained once or twice more after that and water leaked from the same spot that had been ""fixed"". We had been told the work was warrantied for 2 years so we immediately called Cascade. We have called at least once a month and haven't even gotten a call back! It actually sounds like a home answering machine when you call, perhaps they are out of business? Sooo...rain is back...roof is leaking...we are out money and about to be out more because we need to find someone new altogether.

THE ITEMS DESCRIBED TOOK PLACE IN DECEMBER 2014. I have since learned that the owner whose conduct is described below is no longer with the company (December 2015).

My roof leaked in a very small area and one of Cascade's employees came out to put plastic over the area as a stopgap. He promised to give me a quote later. When the owner of the company came out to give the quote, he said the whole roof needed to be replaced. I told him 2 other roofers had looked at the roof the year before and said it was fine. He said it was made of deficient concrete tiles that had been the subject of a lawsuit. I had read the lawsuit and it concerned tiles damaged by ice, which is not a problem in San Rafael. He then said he couldn't fix the part of the roof which leaked, it was inaccessible, he'd have to repair the part below it as well. He gave a quote which was astronomical.

Another roofer came, fixed the part of the roof which was leaking and charged one-fourth of the amount Cascade had quoted.

Cascade roofing in Novato is a terrible company. (Not to be confused with a different Cascade company in Portland.)
They repaired leaks in our roof, and gave us a two year warranty. Three months later, it started leaking again.
They made an appointment but never showed up. No apology. They made another appointment and never showed up again. Each time I had to take time off work. Finally they said on the phone that we would have to pay. I mentioned the warranty, but they denied it was under warranty! Then the boss was very discourteous, in fact downright rude and arrogant, and I was certainly not happy with his extremely unprofessional attitude. Full marks for incompetence, unreliability and total lack of courtesy on the phone. Decided to go with another company, even though I will have to pay all over again. If you want to avoid a lot of irritation, hassle, and stress, avoid this company like the plague.

Set up an appt for an estimate. She said he would be at the house between 10-1. Really 10-1? Ok...No one showed up. No one called. Then no one called back after I left a message about the failure.

I believe in giving every business a chance and in being patient and forgiving of normal mistakes. I don't require employers or their workers to have terrific interpersonal skills when what I really need is a good roof. But the boss at cascade actually frightened me, he was so aggressively mean.
