I hired Don to assemble a new Costco patio set. It included a large table that weighed a ton and 6 chairs. He arrived on time, got right to work. He had to unpack all of the many parts which were packed to endure a train wreck. He layed some of the cardboard out to protect the parts from my cement patio as he assembled. He did an excellent job and cleaned up beautifully as he went along. He's a very nice person and I will use him again for house projects.

Don and Steven were vary helpful when I needed a few things fixed around my house, and even worked around my busy schedule, even brought up things that I didn't know we're wrong. fair prices and friendly workers, will definitely call again for future projects like my deck

It has taken over a year to calm down and write this review. We had contracted with Don in February, 2015 to do some repair work on an arbor over a deck, repair on a doorsill and minor concrete patching which totaled about $1300. Without going into long details here, if you want quality work completed by someone who will come when he says, Don is not your person. There were two missed appointment times without phone calls, The original work contracted for was haphazard at best and cost considerably more than agreed upon. If you do choose Don, be sure that the work is completed before giving final payment.

Working with Don with Campbell's Home Services has been a nightmare to say the least!
It all started with him scheduling the job with me and not showing up for almost two weeks to start. Then when he starting the job he sent his son in-law Steven without telling me and on the days he did show up he would not arrive till after 2pm. His communication skill are non-existed he never called or text me to let me know what he was doing unless I texted or called him. I had to call him to see if he was coming every day and what time he would be on the job he would say. I wish this was am and am and would not show up till after 2 pm.
I wish this was all that I had to deal with. I should have fired him then but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Then when he did show up he used bad texture product and stayed everything in sight. He never covered to protect my water heater, garage door, floor or water softener which was all brand new items. Then he poured all his plaster/texturing products in my garden and killed my plants. Piles of it splattered all over my fence on my driveway. It stained my drive way. Not to mention the trash he left in my bedding.
Please do not hire this man for any of your jobs. I hired him thinking he was an honest godly man. But he took my money and did really bad work not to mention cost me thousands in repairs. I know I will never see a dime from him.

Don came out and gave me a fast quote on some work I needed in a common area in our 4-unit duplex. I needed drywall, painting, small laminate work. He told me he would put a vent at the top and bottom of the room that housed a water heater and also make the light ""timed"" so as to not waste electricity. He did not provide that. He also failed to replace the light switch plate/cover. Totally left the job incomplete. If you walk into that room now, you'd say....""oh so you're having some work done on the common area huh?"" Never finished the job. Had no problem cashing the check. He seemed trustworthy, but no. Live and learn I guess. Doesn't anybody value their own personal work anymore? Does anyone believe in basic integrity? I've been looking for someone like that in Oakland since 2012. So far I have only found 1 plumber and 1 handyman.
Beware of what he tells you and that the job is completely finished before you pay him.

Don did a very good job replacing some old worn redwood siding- replacing whole walls and piecing in where there were only a few bad boards. He was conscientious, on time, and on budget. Nice guy. No BS. We were kept informed throughout the process. He was very thorough, taking care of all the little details without any prodding. The job ended up looking great because he clearly cared about how his work looks. Pricing was in line with other quotes we got. He did an excellent job of pricing out the materials at a number of places to keep the overall cost of the job down.

Don obviously has a lot of experience. He appears to have a number of other areas of expertise, and we will be calling him again.
