Was recommended to Sergio by a friend who is a contractor and uses Camelot often for roofing work. We needed to repair/replace one section of our roof. He was available the afternoon I called to come by and give a quote, showed me photos of the parts of the roof I wasn't able to see, and explained what needed to be done. His quote was competitive with the others we got so we decided to go with him. They were able to do the repair next-day, took about three hours. No complaints at all. They were quick, answered questions, cleaned up well and the new roof looks good (he took 'after' photos to show us their work). I would definitely hire them again. In a year when getting repairs on the house has been really challenging, often never even hearing back from companies and contractors, Sergio was readily responsive, and available and got the job done right.

I was referred to Sergio from family members who have used his services for multiple roofing projects over the years. I was a little hesitant based on the one negative review on yelp but decided to go ahead. Overall, I had a positive experience. Sergio and his team were responsive and available to put a new modified bitumen roof with short notice. Pricing seemed fair. The team completed the project in 95 degree heat without complaint. In my case they did a good job cleaning up the dusty mess left after scraping off the old gravel roofing materials. Will update once I've had a chance to see how it performs during rainy season.

The written estimate and the final costs matched. They came with masks, on time and finished 800+ square foot roof in 7 hours on a Saturday. They did not leave any debris. They hosed down the windows and swept the perimeter of the house. It was cleaner than prior. They provided pre and post pictures. I was provided a written warranty. I would hire them again without any qualms. Sergio was the best as well as his workers.

NO NO NO. Very disappointed. We used Camelot Roofing which based in Oakland, (owner Sergio) for a couple of our family houses recently. They did two houses at about the same time, so we could not really able to stop the second project. Sergio didn't write up a proposal before the work started, everything was verbal. He was not able to give me a work order/ agreement until the end of day 1 after the job started. The first one was a smaller project, only replacing gutters to one house. We thought it would be a custom made gutter, like 1 piece in length kind gutter. NO. it was those cheap aluminum ready made gutters from Homedepot. The quality of work was unprofessional, the brackets were hand cut from an downspout drain pipe and bent to the shape for brackets. In additional with some other fawls, they had to come back and redid some of the gutters, but it took a several phone calls before they would come back. Material wise, the project used about 6 pieces of 8 ft length gutter and 2 pieces of downspout and 4 turns. The bill was $1100. Not cheap at all, but we thought they are a licensed roofing company and would have the job done professionally.
The second project was a re-roofing the entire roof with torch down membranes over the existing roof. Before the job started and without received a detail work order, I asked the foreman how he would do the roof and how many layers and the son of the owner answered my questions and said three layers, he said my existing roof was the first layer and they would do 2 more layers over it. (2 layers sounded right, I was expecting a layer of underlayment membrane and top layer.) Later, I found they didn't put down 2 layers, only a 1 ply layer directly to my existing roof. By the end of the day when Sergio showed up, I had questioned him for the 2nd layer, he said there is no such thing underlayment. They have never done the underlayment for re-roofing, the son didn't know. Overall the job was done unprofessionally and nothing uniform compared to my next house's re-roofing job. It seemed that they didn't measure nothing, just randomly cut the material, and when it was too short, then just spiced another piece to it, they didn't tailor when cutting the materials, there were many small pieces, like 6"", 10"" , 18"" pieces spiced everywhere. The finish work was not good at all, nothing detail and nice. I could not believe they are a licensed roofer. The way they plumbed the catch basin pipe to my sewer line was a joke. I will upload a picture if Yelp have this feature. They hanged the torch over the edge of the roof all time, it had catched up a small fire to some wood, they were able to put it out with water. I was outside and saw it. It bubbled some of the paint on the siding wall and also on my neighbor's wall. They said they would come back and repair them, but for also a month already, they haven't come back to fix my neighbor's house. They threw garbage down to the ground from the roof and ran materials and tools up and down without a tarp covered the wall, it scratched many areas of the siding on my house, left many marks and some minor damages to the trims. I spoke to Sergio and he didn't give a damn about it. I know this is not a mutli-million dollar house, but I do expect some respects though. Both sides neighbors complaint about the garbage, many nails all over their properties the next day. The son's primary job looked like cleaning up, so without any supervision, you could imagine how good he was. I had to clean up for my neighbor's properties and my own yard. I didn't trust the son's work. With all these mentioned craps, before my roofing job completed, I had asked Camelot workers not to come back to finish the work. The owner came by a couple days later and I gave him a check and that was it. So, just wanted to share my experience with Camelot Roofing to you before you hire them.
