This is not a complaint about the work because none has commenced or will. The office staff has been very professional and pleasant. However, the contractor who showed up, although seemingly a nice man, was so uncommunicative and ultimately difficult to engage, that I politely ended the session. This is not about his language skills. They were fine. Meeting a company like this is very time consuming and can be stressful for a client. So communication is important. It needn't be perfect, because nothing is. But the frustration with this individual made me worried about working with him or his company over the course of weeks. On a remodel of this size including the cost, this was a very red flag.
In addition, this company appeared to not really be a true remodeling company. It seems to be a contracting company, which is fine if advertised accurately. With this company, as I am now aware after devoting substantial time including many calls from their scheduling office, a tremendous burden is on the customer to source materials, provide them, and take care of all those purchasing contracts individually.
Again, so there is no doubt, this is not a comment on the actual quality of work (for none was performed).

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THE ABOVE FIRM OR INDIVIDUAL.

In 2016, I spent $17,000 for the installation of upgraded solar panels. These panels carried a warranty of 25 years. Additionally, I was informed that the solar panels would be cleaned on a yearly basis. As of this date, that never happened.
In August of 2020, I observed that one of the 10 panels was inoperative.
The salesman Yaniv gave me the run around about getting a replacement for the defective panel. Moreover, he refused to repair or replace this solar panel. Yaniv informed me that the company went out of business. The warranty was with Yaniv Madmon, as stated in his contract.

Again, do not deal with this scam operation.

We just installed our home solar system through the help and support from California Home Solar.

We have quoted a few companies for comparison, but this company has been the most affordable and professional by far. They were the only company that has sent someone to inspect our site in person when we first requested for a quote. Mr. Yaniv gave us a detailed explanation on how the system works as well as state/city policies. He was also flexible and willing to work with our personal requests and came up with a solution that was satisfied to all parties (in our case, we asked if the company was willing to help install some of the idle panels we owned). I also appreciated the timely communication he had throughout the whole process.

I must also say Dan and his crew who came to install the system were highly professional and skilful as well.

Overall, we are impressed with the work provided by California Home Solar. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a professional team with good prices. Thanks.

I have completed roof and solar installation with California home solar. After checking their license and reputation we decided to go forward with them. The price was great and now when the work is completed , my husband and I are very happy with the results. Yanni was our project manager and he was very communicative and professional. We will definitely recommend them to our friends who consider solar as well. Five stars!! Thank you guys!

I had an appointment at 1pm for an HVAC estimate. I chose this company based on their good yelp reviews. At 12:38 I called to confirm they were coming and told them to text me when they were out front so that I could put my dogs up. They said yes they were coming and they would text me at 1 when they got here. At 2:10 I called and asked where they were. Keland said they had texted me at 8 am and I replied ""no thank you."" Then I told them they must have texted the wrong number he said ""no we texted you."" Then I reminded them that I spoke with them and confirmed 20 minutes before my appointment and as it turns out they had texted the wrong number. The said they could be here in 30 minutes. We confirmed my number and then an hour later I called asking where they were and Keland said we left you a message. I said I have been sitting by my phone all day since I confirmed at 12:38 and he insisted he left me a message. No message. Not only did they waste my entire day even with me calling to confirm, they constantly tried to blame it on me . Very bad sign but at least it happened before I committed to working with them. Beware.

EDIT: Not sure what nonsense the reply to this review is about but it just goes to show what miscommunication this company has. I don't live in a gated community. I live in a house with one entrance and no driveway gate. You can walk right up and ring the doorbell. And you just accused me of lying just like your dispatcher tried to blame it on me and say you texted and called when you did not. That is the infuriating part because not only did you waste my entire day, you blamed it on me for you having the wrong number. Guess you had the wrong address too if you went to a gated community. Get it together.

Our deck looks beautiful after CHS team did a great job painting the wood. The outdoor paint job of our home looks wonderful, like a brand new house. They did it in only one week while we were out of town.
It was a great surprise to get home and see how beautiful it looks!
We highly recommend this company, Yaniv, Daniel and the team have proven to be professional and keep their word.

We recently moved to Santa Clarita and wanted to be sure we are comfortable in the summer but we know how high A/C bills can be. We began researching solar. Edad and Yanniv from California Home Solar gave us a presentation, explained everything, and answered all our questions. We decided to go with them.

There installation crew was fantastic. They coordinated permits and inspections and attended to every detail. The system was installed within a few days in spite of on and off rain. They did a very professional job and the system is up and running using their latest technology.

California home solar came to my house after I had 5 different quotes for solar to be installed, we decided to go with them and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. From the second Daniel came into our home, he showed us everything we needed and answered all our questions, made us feel at ease. They completed the job quickly. Our electric bill was originally around $200 a month and last months bill was $2!!!!!! Amazing. As a home owner, one of the hardest things is to find trustworthy contractors, ones that actually do what they say they are going to do, professional and knowledgeable.

I am an advocate for solar energy and took it amongst myself to filter through proposals and company's pertaining to Green living for a 72 unit condo complex. Yani, made a proposal for Toluca Hills HOA board, which I was apart of. He was informative, professional, and gave us options to get our energy issues under control. Many were easy fixes. Even though he wouldn't make money off it; they were necessary to turn our community into an energy efficient community and he willingly shared. This concept of taking the consumer's financial expenses to heart and giving an honest proposal even if it doesn't necessarily financially benefit him 100%, impressed me. The board ended up deciding not to make the progressive decision to turn our complex into a green community. However, I never forgot about CHS and their professional integrity. I have moved since and have called on Yani for all my energy efficient solar needs. As always, professional and cost conscious. I would recommend Califirnia Home Solar to anyone who is ready to invest in solar energy.

To summarize - DISORGANIZED and AMATEURISH. I guess they are mainly a solar company venturing into home remodeling? I eventually fired them, and I wish I had done so sooner. I am a first-time home owner and renovated my 1300sq ft condo -- 2 bathrooms remodeled, all floors replaced, kitchen retiled and replaced countertops, lights updated including a new LED system installation, and repainting the condo. The price was 48k without materials. I consider this to be on the expensive end, so I expected them to be competent, professional, and headache-free but the experience was the opposite.

Time Management - very poor. Estimated completion was 2 mos and 1 wk maximum according to them, but by the time we were close to 4 mos and the pace still didn't pick up, I decided to fire them. They have very serious staffing issues. On several occasions workers would actually no show. Contractor's favorite fallback line when talking about missed deadlines, ""well, construction is dynamic.""

They were not the cleanest in terms of picking up after themselves and generally did not use blankets or plastic covers. Neighbor was complaining of the dust in the hall, and I was surprised when contractor told me they did not have a vacuum cleaner (like isn't that super basic?).

Quality was very inconsistent. Sometimes was okay (floors were good, most of tiling was good) to downright shabby and unacceptable (e.g., wall underneath the vanity was unfinished and exposed the drywall, baseboard under toilet looked like someone used their teeth instead of tools to cut it, among other examples).

Contractor was reactive instead of being proactive, was not on top of things and I never felt he was in control of his project, ever. Clearly overstated his abilities. Was often passive-aggressive, sometimes would try to blame me, either subtly or directly, for things that had gone wrong. Had little foresight, poor planning skills (e.g., did not account for height of baseboard and height of side splash touching structures above them, and did not even notice until I saw and pointed it out after the fact; he miscalculated tile requirements repeatedly, causing delays and additional shipping charges; also never mentioned, hence I know he never noticed it before, that an electrical outlet would be in the way of the kitchen backsplash, when I called his attention he said it was because there was a beam behind so he could not move the outlet, if that was the case then why didn't he move it the other direction).

Greatly underestimated the complexity of the LED project causing major grief and headache. Long story.

I waited to write this review until I worked with the new guys I hired so I could compare, and what a difference!! They are so much more professional and tightly run from the office end to the workers' end.

Photos of things I mentioned are attached. The toilet plumbing in the baseboard, and the space under the vanity were improved. Unfortunately the outlet in the tile backsplash is already the improved version (looks worse than before).

I do regret going with this overpriced and underdelivered contractor. I was going to give 2.5 stars out of 5, but since there are no half stars I decided on 2, after seeing how other companies work. I give them one star for at least not having a major disaster and not running away with my money (though this is a low bar), and another star for putting in effort to please and make things right with the customer. But I cannot recommend them for a major/complex remodeling project. If you hire them, I suggest factoring in penalties for failing to finish on time.
