I would like to give this company a better review, but the follow up experience has been HORRIBLE! I had a few windows installed and a sliding door. The screen on the slider had a hole when installed. The installer gave me the number to call to have it replaced, but I never heard back from them after being told they would cheapest me shortly. I called again a week later and wad given the same message. It has now been 2 months and I'm getting the same response. ""They are so sorry"" ""Someone will call shortly to fix the issue"" etc. I still have 2 more windows to replace and I will not be working with this company again.

I would give them 0 stars, but the quality of the Anlin window is very nice. So at least they gave me a good product (minus the hole in the screen).

I first learned of CEC at a local home show. They took my name and number, because I was interested in painting my house. They were quick to call me and schedule an appointment for someone to come to my house and explain their product. The salesman was very thorough when explaining the difference between their product and regular paint. I decided to go with CEC because I plan to live in my home for a while, and I never want to paint again! The fact that their product is a cool coating and not regular paint is what sold me. I live in the desert where the climate is harsh. The coating will help keep my home cool in the summer. It will never fade in the brutal summers and winters. Plus, there is a 100 year guarantee! The process took about two weeks. They made repairs to an existing patio cover, patched all the issues with the stucco and facia, and took care when prepping the house. I am pleased with the results. I would recommend CEC.

I had windows installed 5 years ago. I recently had a problem with the hardware with one of them. They came out and repaired it. They stood by their warranty and I am a very happy customer. In addition to the windows, I also had the house painted and that still looks great. The insulation we had put in has made the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Overall their product line delivers what it claims!

Unless you like paying double or triple the price of the product received stay clear of California Energy Contractors. I contracted with this company to have my home painted with Tex-Cote after the salesman showed me a supposed sample of the paint and very convincing Tex-Cote broacher. I was told a work crew would take three days to complete the job. It turned out the crew was two men who spent a total of twelve hours to complete the job. The paint was applied very thin in 42 degree weather and in no way compares to the sample shown to me.
This company indicated this is normally a $26,000 job, but if I purchased right now they would only charge $12,900. Once I said no the salesman left and came back 20 minutes later with a lower price. I told him even that price was too high, and I countered with a price I thought at the time was fair for the product and labor, if in fact what he told me about the product and amount of labor involved was true. The salesman call his office and was told they could not do the job at my price offer. I said fine the salesman left, but 15 minutes later came back and accepted my offer on the condition I would not disclose the price I paid for the paint job. After the work was completed and my disappointment with the product applied, I would not disclose the price I paid anyway out of embarrassment to myself. Prior to the paint job being applied I call the company back and had they give me an estimate on replacing two bathroom widows so that the windows would be double pane and match the rest of the widows in the home. The windows are approximately 14 inches by 33 inches. They quoted me $5,200. Right at that time I should have realized what a ripoff company they really are. I later had the windows replaced by a reputable glass company for $950 total.
As I stated before unless you want to pay way more for a product than it is worth, stay clear of California Energy Contractors. Sincerely, George Weger.

I was very pleased with the amount of professionalism and work they did with my windows. They were able to replace all 8 of my windows within 6 hours which I was very happy with. They called ahead of time prior to coming out which I appreciated. They arrived on time, did the work in less time they quoted and cleaned up after themselves. They walked me through and showed me every window, how to take them out of the tracks, and all the features that came with them.

My sales guy Yan was very professional and not your ""typical"" sales person. He was very open, not pushy at all, and walked me through everything to help me understand what each cost was and what I was expecting to get.

I definitely recommend California Energy to anyone who wants they're windows redone with ease.

Received a call from a guy today at 12:35pm from this energy audit company, caller ID shows 818-285-6981. He started asking questions about the roof, the windows, my AC...etc. I asked to be placed on the do not call list, he insists they do not have one and will not do so. I asked him where he got my info, and he replied it was some Long Beach show a few years ago. Keep in mind, I have NEVER done business with this company before. I requested he put me on the do not call list 2 more times and he refused to do so. Once asked him to repeat his name and his company name so I can report it to the FTC, he then said he would not give me the names. I asked him if it is common for them to antagonize and harass potential customers, to which he replied that he just wants to ask questions. Did I forget to mention he told me I was rude? I hung up after he again, refused to put my name on the do not call list.

Here's the best part, I have not been an active Yelp reviewer, but my experience with this caller has prompted me to put this in this review and share with the rest of the community of how bold these guys are. A formal complaint has already been submitted to the FTC as a result of this scam call.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to put negative stars in the Yelp rating, but I believe a 1 star suffices for now.

California Energy Contractors painted my house with a cool wall tex cote and installed 14 energy efficient windows which totally made my home look brand new ... I'm very happy with the results ... I've gotten so many compliments on my home ... Everyone that I dealt with within the company were professional, friendly and knowledgable which is very important and they've been in business over 20 years ... I loved that everything was done earlier than the projected dates ... They have great end of the month discounts and I'll definitely use them again on my other property ... Great Company
Great people ... Great service.

The company exceeded my expectations, the Sales department is extremely knowledgeable about windows the benefits and the savings that I would receive. I was very surprised and impressed when one of the owners, Steve, came out to check the work personally post installation . My wife and I interviewed and listened to 4 different companies , horrible , they all tried to Sell me something I didn't want , BS . California Energy Did an incredible job with the windows , I let them do my roof . Wouldn't do business with any other company .

This company (CEC) applied TexCote to our stucco, adobe-style house about a year and a half ago. TexCote is not paint, but an ""industrial strength"" coating that is used for painting steel highway bridges, large steel structures such as those found in oil refineries, and industrial buildings. It has been made available for residential use, and really has worked well on our stucco house. It is an expensive process, but is guaranteed for 40 years. We had a choice of painting our house (at about $15,000 every 5 or 6 years) or re-stuccoing it (at a cost of about $9 per square foot every 12 or 15 years), and if we did the latter, the stucco would still crack and weather, and leak water into the house, just like the original stucco did after about 10 years due to the harsh climate (mile-high altitude, temperature extremes from almost 100F in summer to 15F in winter with driving rain and snow. The TexCoat treatment should stop that. So at a cost of about 3 times that of a single paint job, or about 2 times that of a re-stucco, it seemed to make sense. The coating reflects heat caused by sunlight (solar heating) away from the house which reduces cooling costs in summer, but the reflected heat can be hard on some plants and shrubs near the house. Of course, the coating also reflects solar heat from the house in winter, which drives up heating costs some, but by far less than the savings in cooling costs during summer. If the TexCote holds up as advertised, which I expect, it will be well worth the cost, and the company will step in if the coating does not hold up because of poor installation. The CEC workers doing the job had TexCote certification ID cards, and seemed to know what they were doing while applying all 10 coats of the treatment. The State of California gives energy credits to TexCote treatments, and CEC helps you set up a 20-year loan to cover the cost of the job using a loan company called Ygrene. The loan is added to your property tax, and the 40 payments (each due every 6 months), appear as a line item on your county property tax bill, which means you can deduct the loan payments as property tax on your federal and state income tax return. Yes, your taxes go up, no question about it, but this allows you in effect to transfer the loan to the buyer if you sell your house before the loan is paid off. The interest rate on the loan is a little steep, but being able to write off the loan payments as a property tax deduction takes some of the sting out of that. Of course, you can also pay for the TexCote job with cash or pay in some other way, but this way was okay given my financial situation. So yes, this is an expensive thing to do, something like buying a new car, but after all we are talking about the house you live in every day and the peace of mind of protecting it properly. So far, the coating has shown no signs whatsoever of any deterioration, flaking, or any of that, but it has only been through one winter and two summers. We shall see what happens, but I am reasonably comfortable with the situation, and there are people who have been very pleased with TexCote stepping in and fixing any problems during the lengthy warranty period. The house looks great all the time, and I think I would do this again in the same situation. At my age, the situation will probably never come up again, because the TexCote should last a lot longer than I will!
