I worked with several roofing companies on a very tricky leak at our house and ultimately went with Steve because he was super responsive, attentive, and timely. Once we kicked off the job at our house, his foreman Francisco was amazing. I had some roof damage and water intrusion due to an old roof. Steve came out and gave me a number of options. He was very professional.

Once we got started, his crew led by Francisco was timely and very sharp. There were a few areas that needed to be ""re designed"" for better draining which they worked with me on and turned out great.

We had a leak in our roof that revealed itself during a large storm. We contacted CALbest and Mr. Kim came by soon after that to inspect the roof. He pointed out all the potential leak areas and recommended a new roof. This was somewhat expected since the roof was well over 15 years old. He was very responsive in scheduling a day to do the roofing work and the new roof looks great.

As with many, I use Yelp reviews to vet potential contractors and workers prior to sending out requests for bids. For the most part, the Yelp reviews with high ratings don't disappoint. So, it's the intangibles that separate one company from another. High on the list of my intangibles is communication. I HATE having to chase a contractor down for updates or answers to questions that were promised to me. Steve rated a ""10"" when it came to keeping me informed every step of the way. He is proactive and responds to texts and emails very quickly.

His foreman noticed a 2"" dip in the middle of the roof and suggested facilitating drainage by adding a downspout at that point...something that the other bidders did not catch. I appreciate the attention to detail.

The re-roof job that he and his team did was terrific...the true test came during the recent atmospheric river that inundated our area with over 5 inches of rain (on 10/25/21). There were no leaks in the house or in the basement! As a cherry on top, Steve surprised me with lunch when I happened to be on-site one day. Steve even returned, after the job was completed, to take pictures of the roof at my request.

Steve's quote was very competitive and his workers were professional and friendly. Kudos to CalBest and Steve for a job well done!

I had a leaky roof and not knowing any roofers, I resorted to Yelp. I met with 3 roofers, all 5 star yelped. I chose Calbest and am so happy I did. Steve is impressive. He was early for our appt. He took pictures of my roof and showed me where the leaks were coming from. He showed me material and talked about the process. When I finally decided to go with Steve, his crew went to work. When some other issues were discovered, Steve again took pictures and gave me options on how to deal with situation. Then the torrential rains came. Steve came again to check to make sure everything was fine. No more leaks and my roof is beautiful. By the way, Steve had the best price. I highly recommend CALbest. At least give Steve a call.

Our old house has seen better days; our home insurance provider agreed and asked that we redo the roof this year. After a Yelp search and estimates from different companies, we opted to go with CalBest Roofing. From the estimate to the finished product, Steve and his team were prompt and professional. They worked methodically in redoing our roof. The team was great on cleanup on a daily basis. My husband shared that Steve even included him when he brought the team a burger lunch. After 19 years my roof developed a couple of leaks, a small one in an upstairs bedroom and an intermittent long term one on the outer wall of my fireplace.

I called Steve at CalBest for an estimate. I was impressed and appreciate his attention to detail. He spent about 15 minutes inspecting the roof before coming down to explain what was needed around the fireplace as well as building up a portion of my nearly flat flat section for better drainage before reroofing.

Another roofer spent 5 minutes measuring, didn't address my concerns and said he would email the estimate. Steve beat him by 15%. I didn't need a third estimate, I knew who I wanted for the job.

He and his crew wore masks the couple of times we interacted. They cleaned up all the nails or debris around the house. I also had a rear downspout replaced and was concerned about our spring time sparrows building a nest in the conductor head. Steve saw to it that his crew reposition the downspout to reduce the upper gap.
