Completely unprofessional waste of time. Took weeks to conduct an inspection. Then estimator didn't conduct a thorough inspection, return phone calls, or draft a comprehensive bid. The initial quote that we did receive took several weeks, had an unreadable scope of work, and was overpriced. Never received the corrected version. Wasted 4 weeks of our time, while we had a leaky roof. Then sent us a text stating that they're not a fit for our project.


Update: I shared with them that I would be sharing our experience in a couple public forums. Their estimator then called within a few min and cussed me out. Wish I was kidding. Beyond unbelievable and unprofessional.

Watch out for a real rip-off. Good work but way over-priced. The guy that did the estimate was very knowledgeable and helpful. He told me he thought it would be an all day job for 2300 or so to get at what he suspected was an underlayment problem. Then a written estimate came in the mail for $2546, they explained that it was an even bigger job than they thought. They would have to remove a large section of the roof to replace the underlayment. I signed it and sent it back. When they came out to do the work it ended up taking two guys less than 2 and half hours. They only had to fix the flashing and not rip up the roof and replace underlayment. I got a bill in the mail for $2346 (200 off). I called to complain that this was excessive. They blew me off. If you like paying $500 an hour for roofers use these guys.

I had them come fix a leak. I said I didn't want to do the repair if I needed a new roof. They inspected with a drone. They did their work and the roof still leaked. They sent a guy out to take another look and he said there were leak areas on other parts of the roof which they weren't responsible for. I feel ripped off. $3,300 for a repair that didn't help. Don't hire a company that only inspects with a drone! Another company came and inspected by actually sending a person onto the roof and said there were multiple, obvious issues that Cal-Vintage shouldn't have missed, outside of the area where they did their work. I wouldn't have authorized the work they did if they'd noticed and mentioned that the whole roof had issues. I had asked for an estimate for replacing the whole roof when I asked about the repair, but they never provided that. Very disappointed. $3,300 and the roof still leaks. Poor communication from the office as well, with scheduling and not getting an estimate for replacing the roof.

Outstanding service at a reasonable price! Brent Irick and his team are very professional and seem to live by the old school business model of 100% customer satisfaction. We live in Gold River which is well-known for having stringent HOA regulations. Cal-Vintage met and exceeded all Gold River HOA requirements and worked closely with us to ensure excellence on a large roofing repair and several gutter replacements. Called during a busy rainy season and the receptionist was very nice and had a high level of customer service. She told us a roofer would call and the very next day Jim called and spoke with me. He is extremely courteous and took time to understand the issue.

He came to take a look at our leaking skylight in Davis and fixed the leak for FREE - replacing a small area where some sealant had failed. That level of customer service, honesty, and integrity is unheard of these days. THANK YOU JIM.

We had a small leak in our roof that was persistent. The leak was on a flat roof section, and apparently not all roofing companies will fix flat roofs! We got a couple quotes to come fix the leak, and Cal-Vintage was significantly cheaper than the other quote, so we scheduled a time with them to come fix the leak. Unfortunately, the representative didn't arrive as scheduled, and since it was a late afternoon appointment, we rescheduled for the next morning. He did the repair, but the next time it rained, the roof was still leaking.

They included 1 call back if the first repair didn't work (like the other company we got a quote from), so we made a 2nd appointment. This time the fix moved the leak. I called back and was prepared to argue to ask them to come back for a third try even though their policy only included the 1 free call back. They didn't resist, and came out again. Unfortunately, the third time wasn't the charm. They came out a fourth time (no charge) and ran leak tests, pouring water in certain areas until they finally found the issue, and finally, the leak is fixed! Five Stars for going the extra mile to find the troublesome leak.

I wanted to let people know how awesome this company is, especially Jim Mapes. We had a very tight timeline in which we had to have some issues on our roof inspected. Jim called us back immediately, and even with the companies tight schedule they made time for at least the inspection/estimate to be completed within 1 days time. This saved a lot of issues with the concern of the sale of our house. The prices for the repairs were decent and in line as well. I appreciate a company who can help, you can hear and see the professionalism within their employees. Jim Mapes sent his report right after the inspection, and very professionally displayed and noted. I just can't say enough about how pleased we are to have called this company and chose to do business with them.
As a note: there were two other companies with ""great"" reviews that we had also called (more than once) to request the same estimate/inspection, and they never even called back. A true review from a true customer should shine through. This is a definite happy customer!! Thank you CalVintage Roofing and Jim Mapes!!!!!

Cal-Vintage Roofing is an outstanding roofing company and their price is reasonable.
My roof sprung a leak in the same area I had repaired the prior year.
It was not the same leak, however. They warranty the roof after their repairs. So they came out and located the problem and fixed it on the spot.
Their roofers really take pride in their work. After talking to them on the job, it was nice to know they enjoy doing the job right.
I will use them exclusively.
I have extensive experience with roofers as I have had investment properties here and the Bay Area over 20 years. I have seen the good, the bad, and yes, the ugly.
It is a breath of fresh air when you run into solid companies like this one.
