Originally, I was pleased with Cal State Construction and the service I received. I had windows installed in my condo and shared the company info with my neighbors because they were interested in getting windows installed as well. One of the things that was promised to me was a referral check for new customers. Two of my neighbors had windows installed after and I waited and waited and waited and never received the money. Helen told me via phone that she had the check and would mail it. It never arrived. She then said after avoiding me for a week that she would bring the check to me personally. Of course, that was the last time I heard from her. I have since then texted, called the office and spoke with the receptionist several times. My information was supposedly given to the owner and that he would contact me. That never happened! I still have neighbors that need new windows, but I am no longer confident in the work ethic or integrity of this company. I will continue to call and attempt to get what was promised. I DO NOT recommend this company. The wonderful people I worked with in the beginning no longer work for the company, but even they answered my call. Helen is unreliable and can't be trusted, if she is the face of the company then CAL State Construction can't be trusted. If you want quality customer service, prompt response time, and to be valued, this is not the company for you.

Be Aware ... They will take your money & abandon your job. Don't fall for them have you apply for these energy efficiency programs. They are frauds. They abandoned my project once they were funded from HERO. I dont care if they reply that i didn't have a written contract. Cal-State came to my house, quoted me & then wrote contract in another name-American Home. They know how to use the system to their advantage. Not even worth rating....

Very rude and disrespectful!
This company knocked on the door last yr and said they were working in my area. Joe said he can get our roof done in a great Hero program. I felt pressured and he insisted we would be approved and if not they would ""work"" with us in the interim. Even though we told him it wouldn't be a fit for us he had us sign a contract stating that we would only be committed to do roof repairs with Cal State Construction. They were willing to lie to the Hero program to get us approved. When it didn't work out, he still called and would knock on the door. One time I wasn't home and another family member answered the door they told Joe I wasn't home and asked for Joe to leave his bus. card. Joe didn't willingly want to and decided it was best to curse out and flip off who had answered the door. I complained with Cal State Management and told them to stop harassing and stop all calls & don't come by again. Till this day they continue to call.

I had the patio, two windows, entire house painted and also the stucco on the one side of my house re-done. Mike has excellent customer service he was not pushy at all. Production manager was also a great person and was very knowledgeable. Process went smoothly I am very happy with the work done . My project was finished about 6 months ago and I still feel happy every time I pull into my driveway. Thank you to all the staff.

I had a gentleman come out to give me an estimate on roofing, windows, door install and landscaping. He gave me an estimate of approx. $21K. I asked him to give me an itemization of the charges. Which he stated that the only way I could get an itemization is when I sign the contract. What the hades??? I pressed him, and he said he would have the office get met the information. That was almost two weeks ago. I called the office, and they were suppose to send it. That was two weeks ago. I don't know of anyone who would arbitrarily go ahead with a project without the proper information. I am very disappointed in this company. I have contacted CSLB to inform them of this company's practice, and that they didn't give me the proposal. The investigator stated that this is why they have so many complaints against Contractors for failure to disclose. So disappointed to waste my time.

The cal state team work as a team great work very proper and consistent beautiful hard WORKING MEN if you have something else that needs attention they will fix if they can far and beyond the WORK will be done thankful everyday very good worker and company to deal with amen

I don't know what kind of business you guys think you are doing but it is not appreciated around here. Not 15 minutes ago was I just yelled at and cussed out by ""Faulbert"" after I kindly declined the services of Your company for Central Air. As he left told him not to solicit at this residence ever again, was then flipped off.

This company calls us constantly, like telemarketers, even though we are on the do not call list and have never answered their calls. Today one of their employees around 25-35 years old came in person to my elderly grandmother's house and yelled at her, pressuring her into giving him her name and phone number. This is NOT how you get customers. We will never do business with this company.

EDIT IN RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER: You are a liar. We have caller ID and your business calls up to several times a day with no message left on our answering machine. (This has been occurring both before and after our incident with ""Faulbert."") You should retrain whoever thought it was a good idea to hire such a rude person, not just your door-to-door salesmen.
