We contacted 5 roofing companies for quotes and Cal Roof responded immediately with a proposal including Ariel pictures of our roof. They then came out to inspect the roof and walk me through the scope of work including the type and benefits of the shingles they prefer to use. I did a bit of research and the shingles were rated top of the line. Their pricing for the work was very reasonable compared to the other quotes and Doug was very responsive and easy to contact. Doug squeezed us into their work schedule since we were on a tight timeline to install solar. There was rotted wood that needed replacement , yet the final cost was very close to the original estimate. The workers were courteous and cleaned up the property well after the roof was done. The permits and final inspection were turned around quickly and we had sign off the same week that the job was done! I was very impressed with all aspects of working with Cal Roof, and Doug in particular, from the initial estimate to closing out the permits. I highly recommend them!

UPDATE:
Since my initial review, the company sent a roofer back to fix some of the areas of concern. They also sent someone to clean up the DG, unfortunately, it's something where prevention is the only cure. Roof debris is simply a part of our DG now. I appreciate the company coming back to try to make it right.

We got 5 quotes before choosing Cal Roof. My husband really liked Doug and trusted his expertise. The overall quality of the roof only time will tell, but demo was a disaster. The guys were unprofessional and did a terrible job protecting our landscape. We had DG installed in the last month and they destroyed it. It is littered with roof debris. We gave the company the opportunity to make it right, they didn't show up when they said they would, then re-scheduled and didn't show for that. It would be impossible to clean the DG fully, it's become completely mixed with the dirt. I had to go around collecting screws they dropped all over the property including a couple that ended up piercing through my kids shoes. I would have picked a different company had I known demo would have been that terribly managed.

Doug is so professional I called him to come look at another roofers job that did a horrible job, he came by (he's one of the three companies we called for a quote) and my husband who is a contractor loved him the most... from the start he is honest, and even praised the other companies that came out for a quote and said really positive things about them. It's really hard to find a genuinely nice person who isn't really out to get you these days, and I highly recommend this Comapny if you are looking for someone who is very responsive and honest. We compared a bunch of roofing companies and found that CalRoof offered a competitive bid. Not all contactors would work on such tall hard to access building. Once the project was done we figured they where the right choice as they where responsive and did they didn't go over budget. Problems came up like rotten wood and such and they took pictures and explained the situation. They were reasonable and they kept me informed every step of the way of what my options where. They are predictable and reliable and I recommend them.

FIVE STARS! Doug Berry and his crew were top notch professionals! From the first meeting for the free estimate to the final meeting and sign off on the job, this company and the owner were wonderful! The pricing was extremely fair and in the same ballpark among the other estimates we got from other companies. We chose to go with Doug because of his honesty and knowledge about the job and the product he uses. The crew showed up early every morning and worked a full day, every day until the job was done. They were clean and considerate throughout all phases of the work. The product they used to replace our old tar and gravel flat roof has lowered the temperature inside the house by around 10 degrees, as well, which is amazing and is performing exactly as Doug said it would, and the roof leak and rotted wood we formerly had from the old roof is now GONE! Doug and his crew really went above and beyond our expectations and that was just their normal business practice - we didn't have to ask them for anything, they just did everything right as part of their usual daily protocol. Top that off with the fact that they finished on time and on budget, even with some extra wood replacement, and we were one wowed customer! Out of the 3 businesses we interviewed, we are SO HAPPY that we chose Cal Roof Inc. I can't say enough good things about the owner and this company. I highly recommend Cal Roof!

They showed up in masks, did a great job and removing all 3 layers of old roof , replacing boards that were rotting and putting on the new roof. I love the new color and am happy with the job done

Cal Roof just installed a new roof for us a few weeks ago. Doug and his crew were very professional and courteous. They did everything they promised and our roof looks great!
