YES! Our new roof IS as good as it gets! We had several companies give us estimates first . All could NOT start right away. Some would not even estimate now because of our recent much needed rain. One was very expensive. And, one, was a COMPLETE JERK! So We were wondering what to do! A long time neighbor on the street (I just met) suggested contacting a local realtor to get their referral. I did and Cal Coast and Marshall was the one. I always check Web reviews first. I did read one negative review. However, Marshall later told me that that poster had misunderstood the situation. (Sadly, the photos Marshall had to prove his innocence were accidentally destroyed.) It seems to us that the owner's damage had nothing to do with Marshall. I post this now because we believe that his reputation should not be damaged by this one negative review. The referral was a super idea and Marshall the BEST CHOICE for us! He came out right away and gave a decent estimate. And, he could get the work done PRONTO! Work was FINISHED the following week. For two days there was noise and A GREAT MESS because three old roofs were removed and much wood replaced. (You do NOT want an ""iffy"" company doing THIS kind of work on your home!) Now everything is very clean and we are ready for MORE rain. We had to pay more dinero because of the wood replaced and additional covering to make the roof possibly last as much as fifty years. (WORTH IT!) The inspector said that it was really a great looking new roof. OUR BIG THANKS to Marshall and his hardworking crew!

Can't believe this guy is still in business. Hired him to fix a roof leak. Paid him up front. Called him back 3 times, and leaK WAS never fixed. Called someone else and they found the problem in 5 minutes. Would not refund me or even negotiate a partial refund.
This guy is TERRIBLE..DO NOT USE HIM.

Cal Coastal Roofing did a excellent job installing our new Grand Sequoia Roof! Marshall and his crew were very exceptional from start to finish. They had the job completed and signed off by the city in four days. The crew was very fast, friendly and ensured the premises was cleaned up prior to leaving each day. I received a very competitive bid and would highly recommend Cal Coastal for any roofing job!

The inspector just left our house after having inspected the new roof that Cal Coast Roofing put on. Here is what he said, ""I rarely see a job done this well. It will last 30 years."" Their cost was less than others, the team was professional and VERY fast, their work was neat, and they did everything they promised. They had to remove 2 older roofs, replace all the facia (spelling?), and other parts of the roof that had dry rot and/or termites. We now have a complete, sturdy roof. What a great job they did. I would HIGHLY recommend them.

Perfect job performed on time and lower than 3 other quotes. Job site cleaned everyday! Paid $12k and others quoted $1k to $6k more!!!!!

I had a roof leak on my house in 2011. I contacted Cal Coast Roofing and they came out and determined that the ridge caps needed replacement due to the original ridge caps which were about 10 years old and were made from a manufacturer who went bankrupt due to faulty products. I got a cost estimate and agreed to have the work done. They completed the work and for the next 5 years no leaks were detected. The contract also included seal and paint all flashings, 40 years for all materials and 5 years for labor.

I am now selling my house and the house inspection company hired by the buyer reported that the chimney flashing needed servicing and noted that there appeared to have evidence of a leak in the attic where the chimney penetrated the roof. I called Cal Coast to notify them of the problem and that I was still within the 5 year labor and 40 year material guarantee. I called twice and left messages with no response from Marshall. So I e mailed them the inspection report noting the chimney flashing needing service along with a copy of my purchase order. Still no response. I have to conclude they will do the work and take your hard earned money, but if you have a problem later you're on your own. Read the back of the PO carefully, the warranty excludes leakage from vents, AC, skylights or TV antennas. I didn't see chimney flashing as an excluded item. Buyer beware!!

Marshall is a good friend of ours who has been fixing roof for our property management company for years. One of the reasons why we love Marshall is we know we will always get a fair price on the work he does.

Just recently we had another roofing company give us an estimate to redo an overhang the bid was for $3,800. We had Marshall go out there and his bid came back at $1,800 and he did a marvelous job. We don't call anyone but Marshall if we need a roof repaired.

Marshall Davis of Cal Coast Roofing is reliable and honest. Hard to find in today's business world. My family has been using Marshall for almost 20 years. My parents owned several apartment buildings in Long Beach; and, Dad would perform all the repairs, etc. (including the roofs). When the time came that Dad could no longer perform that kind of work, Marshall was hired to replace the roofs. Dad had high standards; and, Marshall did a great job. Since then, my Brother and I have hired Marshall for our homes.
