Wow! What a terrific experience! Owner Roger Pineda lives by his slogan ""Doing it Right"". Roger's bid came in at a very fair price and we felt comfortable and confident he would do a great job before he started. He was on the roof every day with his guys, did a great job properly repairing a wide variety of dry rot and termite issues we had, fixed things the prior roofer had done poorly, and made improvements that helped make our 60+ year old home look up to date! Thank you Roger!

Always a red flag when they talk a good game and don't deliver. No follow through. Not even a courtesy call or return email. Beware. It's sad that San Diego has so few reputable or professional construction contractors nor designers.

We have roof leaking because of the storm this Jan. I called many (more than five)roofers, most of them suggested us to change the whole roof, cost about 10,000 dollars. Our roof is only ten years old.Roger is the only one who gave us suggestion to just repair it. And in fact since all the roofers were so busy, Roger is the only one who are willing to spend time on our roof (it was a small project)! We spent much less and our roof now looks great and never leaked again! It is not easy to find an honest and reliable roofer. Roger is the one!!!

This seems like a good day to review our new roof installation done by Roger Pineda and his company C&R Roofing: It's raining cats & dogs outside. I went into the attic and didn't find a hint of moisture. Roger was fantastic, but I figured since the whole point of a roof is to provide dry shelter, I better wait till I can see this roof in action. Today's review rounds out our 5-star experience.
We obtained 3 bids from 3 different companies. All three companies were pretty professional, but Roger stood out in 2 crucial ways: (1) he provided the most information on how to choosing roofing materials and (2) he provided the lowest quote. ""Lowest price"" isn't necessarily the best decision factor on something as important as a roof, but we had a good feeling about him. He's a good, hard-working, conscientious guy.
We had several areas of termite damage which we figured into the bid. Roger and his team did the work even faster than we had estimated, and the quality of the work was outstanding. A couple of our neighbors commented on how amazingly fast these guys came in and gave us a beautiful new roof. We went with the ""carbon"" colored Owens Corning Woodmoor which we're super happy with.
Overall, we can highly recommend C&R Roofing, and we thank Roger for helping us properly protect our homes from these ""El Niño"" rains we're having today!!

We are so grateful for C & R Roofing!
After having a difficult experience with a previous roofer, I put out feelers to various friends looking for a recommendation. Roger with C & R Roofing came highly recommended!
After the most rain San Diego has seen in years, we had a big leak in our office through the recess lighting. Apparently from the amount of damage to the roof wood, the leak had been going on for years, unbeknownst to us. Roger came out within a few days of my initial call to give us an estimate, despite his high demand during a busy rainfall period. He was thorough in his inspection and allowed me to follow him around in the attic explaining the situation with patience and answering all my questions. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable, experienced and professional.
When it came to work time, Roger and his worker, Jerry, did a worthy and good quality job. They had a great work ethic and excellent skill. They were more than fairly priced for the work and by far beat out other roofer's quotes. They responded promptly to my emails, texts and phone calls. They were very friendly in person when they came to do the job. When the job was complete, our roof looked great, and the property was clean of all roofing materials and debris.
Overall, they were a great company to work with--professional, quality work, on time, responsive, friendly, and affordable. We highly recommend without reservation!

Roger is great! I asked him for a consultation on the leaking roof to my sunroom. He found the problem quickly and was able to fix it in a matter of minutes. Then, when I asked him what I owed, he told me his services were free! What a nice guy! I 100% recommend his services.

TALK ABOUT SERVICE!!! Their motto says it all...""Doing it right..."" They are fast, courteous, efficient, truly quality workmanship. You need to check these guys out if you are in need of a repair or an entire roof replacement...you will not be disappointed!!

I was referred to C&R Roofing by Colossus Painting to have the roof on my house pressure washed prior to painting. Roger was pleasant to work with. I got 4 different prices from other roofers and Roger's price was by far the most inexpensive. The schedule for my house painting was pretty tight because of the holidays, but Roger and his crew came out to my house on a Saturday and spent most of the day washing my roof. I have a barrel tile roof that has not been washed since probably 1996 when my house was built. It looks brand new after Roger and his crew were done with it. They were even able to get rid of the ash stains that many houses got after the 4S Fire several years back.
I would say that I would like to work with C&R again, but that would mean that I would have a problem with my roof. LOL. If I ever did, Roger will be the first one I'd call. But again, I hope I'll never have to call him...
Thanks C&R

I have a 1970's era house in Poway with a flat roof over the garage. This roof was one of those that they made by pouring hot tar down and spreading gravel on top of it. And to be honest I hated the roof as it dug into my knees hanging Christmas lights and I couldn't get it to stop leaking. I finally had enough of trying to repair this leaking roof and started looking at Yelp for a contractor.
I had 4 different Yelp top rated contractors come and make a bid on the roof. I told them all up front that I wanted the roof torn off and replaced with just rolls of roofing like I could see on my neighbors garage. To add to the complications I also wanted a quote for just replacement and a quote for the roof and a bunch of skylights added because I hate turning on lights in the middle of the day. Well apparently flat roofs require extra work to add skylights as they have to have a box built to set them on. All in all I received four wildly different prices. So I did what many people will do and I started asking neighbors and friends about their recommendations. My neighbor with the garage I mentioned above told me about a friend who had his house roofed and was very happy with the job and the price. He called his friend and got me the name for C & R Roofing. Yep I took a review about a friend of a friend.
I called C & R on a Wednesday three weeks before Christmas 2012 and spoke with the owner Rodger and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Rodger came out and looked at the roof and discussed my options between repair or replace. Right away I liked him as he was professional, but talked to me as if we'd been friends for a while. I told Rodger I wanted six skylights and we discussed the pro's and cons of making holes in the roof. I could tell he wasn't thrilled about cutting a bunch of holes in the roof as each hole in his words is ""just another penetration that could eventually leak"", but I really wanted a lot of light in the garage.
While Rodger's estimate was not the lowest, he threw in extras that put him above and beyond the others. The others all quoted me the roof and then the price for adding each skylight. Rodger's quote was for the roof and he provide the skylights at his cost and said he's build the boxes and cut the holes for free. This put him above and beyond the other quotes who wanted up to $300 extra per skylight. So I went with Rodger and scheduled for the week after Christmas.
Rodger showed up with one helper as his other helper was out with the flu and went right to work tearing the roof off. I was up on the roof supervising which I'm sure no contractor is ever happy about, but Rodger took it in stride and answered all my questions about the steps as they were being performed. Yes I'm a bit anal about work on my house as I usually do it all by myself and have a hard time letting others get involved.
Eventually the roof was stripped and we were about to cut the holes. Rodger paused with the saw in his hand and asked with a smile ""six skylights? you sure you want six skylights?"" ""Yep"" I said ""give me six skylights"". so in went six skylights.
Of course then the thing that anybody who is having their roof replaced fears, happened. Yep it started to rain as the roof was stripped and only half replaced. Rodger and his helper sheeted the roof with huge sheets of plastic and kept the rain out of the garage.
Because of the rain the roof completion pushed out to New Years eve. I was concerned a bit about this as I figured now it would be two more days before the roof would be done. But Rodger had guys up there on new Years eve completing the roof which I really appreciated.
I waited a few months and a few rains before posting this as I wanted to see how it all worked out. I'm happy to say that there are no leaks and I love all the light from the skylights that Rodger added.
I will probably use C & R Roofing again when my main house roof needs to be replaced. Rodger was a great person to deal with, his price was extremely competitive and his two employees were extremely polite and patient with me while I was up on the roof and no doubt in their way.

Roger is a genuinely caring contractor. He is hard working and gets the job done right. He and his crew are top notch. He will make recommendations on materials and will not pressure you to make a selection. He will work to schedule your job and then do a great job. Roger has done many homes in our neighbor and came to us highly recommended. We were very happy with our choice in using C & R Roofing!
