My contractor suggested that I use this company to repair a section of my store in San Mateo . A year later my roof is still leaking and they will not return my phone calls nor my contractor. As an owner of Ah Sam flowers in San Mateo in operation since 1933 and C&J Roofing which has 35 years of experience, I would expect more from a company that has been around that long with a good reputation. A simple phone call with dialogue would be the professional way to handle this situation.

Requested a quote for roof repair and gutter cleaning. They responded promptly and sent a quote same day. The price was reasonable.

My complaint is that they charge an additional $250 if you want before or after photos and the quote specifically states they do not guarantee their work. So I got a quote to fix some damage they found, but if I wanted to see the damage or see how it was fixed, that would cost an additional $250, and I have no recourse if they do a poor job.

When I asked them about the photos clause in email there was no response. When I called on the phone, the woman I spoke with was very rude. She told me it was the owner's rule and if I didn't like it then I should go with someone else. So I did.

I contacted C & J Roofing regarding a new tar and gravel roof for my garage.

They provided a competitive quote and were easy to work with - they have front of office staff that field phone calls / take messages. They're by and large really friendly folks and seem to take pride in representing the business.

The individual who ran our project was Paul. Paul was a breeze to work with - and I say this as someone who is fairly concerned about details. He is easy to get in contact with and shows up on time. He is patient with all questions and provides clear answers. They worked around the schedule of some electricians we also had on-site, and gave me clear instructions as far as what to communicate to them to ensure no one stepped on the others' toes.

As rains began to show up, Paul was very responsive in coming out to take a look at issues I identified. Water wasn't draining as expected and led to some pooling in a garden of ours, and within less than a week Paul was out to take a look at it and come up with a solution that he did not charge me for.

He comes off as nothing but honest and sincere. In the future when I ultimately need to get the pitched part of my roof redone I will absolutely contact C & J before anyone else. They are my roofers of choice now, and I let anyone who needs roof work done - especially in South City (South San Francisco), which is where Paul runs jobs I'm to understand - that they should hit them up first, too.

Go elsewhere. I don't usually take time to review too many businesses.This is a review for their gutter service. Had a quote for realignment of my gutter that was pooling. They came out with in a reasonable time. I was surprised that they would not guarantee their work on the quote. Clearly states no guarantee for work. I called to discuss this and was met with a lot of attitude from their secretary. I eventually spoke with the contractor again, he said it was because the original gutters were not placed by them. After considering that rain may be coming soon, and not wanting to waste time with another roofer, I had them go ahead and do the work. They came up with a different solution that was not visible from the outside. I was not home during the work. They placed something in the gutter so that it would drain properly. I have to take their word for it. Because of this delay I had the bill sitting aside. Right before leaving for vacation the secretary called to ask where the payment was. I apologized for any delay and told her I would get to it. Life happened, we had some urgent matters to attend to and we left out of town. Needless to say, one month later I get a phone call from the secretary. Short of it is she is very rude and demanding. Actually very disrespectful. Everyone can make a mistake. But acting rude and demanding on the phone. ""Where is my payment SIR"" leaves a sour taste in your mouth. It is just poor customer service. I would go elsewhere. There is no need to deal with treatment like this. As for the work, there is no guarantee. Hope it actually works for the 500$. Seriously... acting like I am a scum that hasn't paid. Hope its worth a shitty review. Really not worth being hassled for. Sorry that they just don't have good people skills. I would go somewhere that values the customer and wants them to return. ""You must be really busy SIR"" actually I am... I am a neurosurgeon... pretty busy. The payment really isn't an problem. But the treatment is. One star for customer service. 2 stars since they did the work, yet to be seen if it works though. And thanks for the threat of a lien on my property.

Mr. Coz is quiet the Man! Very passionate and a extremely knowledgeable
at what he does. He was very kind to take my call and cry for help and met me for a walk through and eased my mind and was very honest.
I value his time and efforts as he is a busy man but took the time and followed up with his word!

C&J has come to our rescue twice. A few years ago we were getting ready to sell our home. Two drive-by roofing companies told us that, based on looking at our roof from the street, we had wind damage. Not trusting their assessment, we called C&J. Our roof was given a clean bill of health and we were saved a lot of money,

Last year, now in a different home, we were installing flooring when the installers discovered a water leak in our wall. C&J came out that day, located the problem and did emergency repairs, We contracted with them for a permanent repair plus some much needed replacement gutters.

After the permanent repairs were completed (all to our satisfaction) we discovered a problem with one of our gutters due to some wildlife issues. We called C&J once again and the problem was resolved in a matter of days.

In our experience, C&Js have been professional, honest, and responsive, We would not hesitate to recommend them to others or to use their services again.

Got a very timely quote from these guys through Yelp. The service was phenomenal and the quote was very complete. They took the time to talk with us and consider our needs. They suggested the less expensive route and explained why what we thought would be a better more expensive way to go wasn't. In the end, we did not go with C&J because we had competitive bids and C&j needed a signed contract before they would even schedule the repair. Another contractor took a risk with a verbal ok and did the repair same day.

I left a message for C & J Roofing, we needed a roof leak repaired. They got back to me the next day and apologized for the delay. The were just hammered with calls.
I set up an appointment for an inspection and estimate. The inspector became available a day early and got here an hour sooner than planned. He was very professional, obviously very experienced and quick.
I accepted the estimate and scheduled the repair.
Repair crew showed up on time, quickly fixed the roof, cleaned up and left in about an hour. They even removed the tarp I had placed over the leak without being asked to.
Very pleased. Obviously no more leak. C & J Roofing is at the top of my list to get the roof replaced come spring!
