Company Overview

The year 1906 marked the founding of C. E. Bourne Sheet Metal Works in Greenwood, SC, when C. E. Bourne, Sr. took over the tinware and sheet metal business from J. W. Sproles. Before this venture, he had been employed by J. W. Sproles since 1889, honing his skills as a roofing and sheet metal mechanic.

For 105 years, the Bourne family has owned and operated the firm. C. E. Bourne, Jr. ran the company until 1971, and then C. E. Bourne, III took over until 1982. The business was incorporated in 1984 by Ted S. Bourne, who named it C. E. Bourne & Co., Inc., and he managed it until June 2001. Today, Judy D. Bourne manages the firm, continuing its legacy as a woman-owned business.

C. E. Bourne & Co., Inc. cherishes its legacy and continues to operate with the same values and integrity as envisioned by its founder. As a fifth-generation family-owned business, we continue our commitment to quality and service.
