They were great! We had a crack in our ceiling that they were able to repair. It was a big job since it was in an area with a high ceiling so scaffolding was involved. The workers were always on time and cleaned up after each day. The project was done on time and on budget. I'm very happy with the results. Theresa the project manager was especially helpful. She checked on the progress each day and kept me informed. I'll definitely use them again for other projects.

I really like the workers and the quality of their workmanship. The average rating is really for the project manager and their office staff.

After signing the contract, we get an invite for a walkthrough for X date and an invoice for the deposit. The deposit is in the wrong amount and the date is wrong as well (even though we emailed about the start date earlier with the Project Manager Chuck). We respond to their admin staff. They change the date of the walkthrough. We get a follow-up email from the finance staff that they haven't received payment yet. Well, the walkthrough date was still in the future and you only pay by check. They apologize for the confusing email. - I wish they would have paid attention to details more.

The walkthrough happens - Project Manager Chuck walks his foreman around the house to detail the work. I text Chuck that we would like the portable toilet to be located behind the house. He said he would contact the toilet company. The portable toilet is delivered right in front of the house the next day. - I don't know if he really contacted the toilet company.

Project begins - the toilet is a dead giveaway we are renovating. The city comes and tells us we need to move the toilet and they serve us a notice to stop work because we don't have permits (Project Manager said we didn't need it). Project Manager talks to the city and tells them an incorrect reason for our project and the city wants to cut open the ceiling that we just patched. We have to call Chuck and clarify the cause of the work. We are stressed and we don't hear from the project manager all day until we follow up because the workers are continuing progress. The city did relent and permts aren't needed but it would have been nice for him to tell us. - communication seems really important in these projects and I don't know if our project was too small to warrant that attention

We ask for a quote for a fence replacement. Project Manager says he will get it to us (he has another big deal going on) the next day. That's fine. He keeps saying he will get it to us for the next 5 days. Our original project is finished, we pay up, and he still says he'll get us the quote. - we never get the fence quote

The team of workers is great. Work looks great. Communication with Project Manager and admin staff was lacking and frustrating, he didn't follow up on things he said he would do like the fence quote or telling us the city permit issue was resolved. Communication and follow-through is important with home renovation projects. Although I like their work, I wouldn't work with them again because of the lack of attention to details, communication and follow through.

I can't recommend Built Right more highly. I bought my first home in September and decided to do a kitchen renovation before I moved in, not really understanding what I was getting myself into. The house also had some extensive termite damage that I needed to get remediated. I called in several contractors to make bids. Built Right was the only company that had consistent follow through on communication, which was an indicator of their professionalism. I decided to go with them and their professionalism continued throughout the project.

Chuck managed my project beautifully. Even when there was a snafu with the countertops (out of their control) they were very transparent about what was going on and did everything in their power to make it right. Carlos, the owner, came by personally to explain the issue to me and how they were going to handle it. Despite the snafu, they finished within the time frame Chuck estimated at the beginning of the project. They worked extra hours to make sure I had a working kitchen before the Thanksgiving holiday. They paid very close attention to detail and made sure all loose ends were tied off without me having to follow up with them about any of it. I really can't think of anything to critique them on.

They were working under difficult circumstances, obviously, with Covid and with me moving into the house (and working from home) three weeks before the renovation was complete. All the workers were so pleasant, professional and respectful. It was actually kind of nice to have them around despite having to work through Covid protocols. 

I am so grateful to have found Built Right as I have heard horror stories about other contractors. My projects couldn't have gone more smoothly and I'm already under contract for them to replace my windows in the new year. There is no doubt I will be using them for all my future projects including a new deck, bathroom reno/addition, and garage conversion.

The team showed up as planned. Wore masks as required. Worked diligently and expertly. My house looks great because of their attention to detail and expertise. First time in 12 years a contractor delivered on time and completed the work on budget.

The final product looked great. We had popcorn ceilings removed and BRR patched, skimmed and smoothed everything (Level 4) before painting the ceilings. They were able to quickly re-assess when we found that there was concrete instead of drywall behind much of the ceiling. Unlike other contractors who gave us estimates, BRR wanted to come and check out the space beforehand and their level of communication was great for this kind of project.

Definitely not the cheapest estimate we got, but worth it for the level of finish and professionalism.

We had Chuck and his crew complete 2 separate projects on our home. They helped us in our Mater Bath Remodel and they installed new Front Double Entry Doors for us
The first project was started before COVID and Chuck and his team helped us with framing, drywall and paint. Each team member that came through was courteous, thoughtful, and took great care to mind our light colored carpets to get all the way upstairs and back to the furthest part of the house with every bit of materials going in and out. They also took the time to be patient with our timid dog and her shaking until we could get to her and move her as they passed on by. And they graciously put up with our awful; busted front door that would come unlatched and open! If it were not locked after each and every exit. What a pain when you are back and forthing! Which is why we had no problems having Chuck look into replacing that front door. We did have another contractor bid on it. When we told Chuck what that bid was; we all nearly fell over from the ridiculous amount. Chuck's pricing is reasonable, fair and certainly worth the quality. The New Doors are just lovely! We ordered them prior to COVID. But the manufacturers delays caused them to arrive after COVID. Chuck and his team hung in there the whole time. Which we were very grateful for. They were fully prepared and ready to go as soon the doors arrived. Chuck and his team took all of the necessary precautions to ensure our safety as well as his teams.
We can't say enough great things about Chuck and all of his team members. They work well with you. The job is done right. The price is right. Your questions are answered. What more could you ask for?

As we expected, the 1973 townhouse might not have everything we would require. We quickly did the investigation and decided by lunch that we needed to open up the ceiling and install a substantial header. In the second room, there was enough support but we needed to sister to the existing joist to carry the load. We had one big trip for a large material supply. We thought 4 days, it became 7 days that included materials runs

On time, on budget, responsive, meticulous...everything we could have wanted in a builder. We found these guys through yelp and hired them to remove a wall between our kitchen and living room.

They were so good we hired to install some canister lights, and a ceiling fan - all of which was done quickly, efficiently and for a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a contractor for your home renovation, and you're going through yelp, I'd very much recommend them.

We had a fantastic experience with Chuck, Carlos, and their team (especially Rudy!). We needed to remove a shower, install a bathtub, and replace the tile in our kids' bathroom, but as a first-time home owner I felt overwhelmed by the whole process. Luckily for us, Built Right made it easy! Brittney with Built Right responded right away to my message (sent via Yelp), and a few days later Brittney and Chuck came out to our house to take a look at the bathroom and give me a quote. I was so impressed with the experience: Chuck was thorough, flexible, super communicative and transparent, and really heard me when I described our goals, preferences, and limitations. Once construction started the team worked diligently and efficiently; they finished the project even faster than anticipated, and the cost was exactly as quoted. Overall, we had a really great experience with Built Right and I would strongly recommend them!
