We needed a new roof and we called Jim as he repaired our roof 7 years ago after we'd had several repairs which always ended up leaking. After Jim fixed our roof, we never had a leak again. So, when it came time for the new roof, we called Jim. He gave us a fair price. He and his team came out on Tuesday They had the new roof on, all of the inspections done and everything cleaned up by Friday. I would strongly recommend Jim and Buck's Roofing for any roofing repair and new roof. He does an excellent job.

Bucks roofing owned / operated by Jim Larsh was definitely The most helpful and informative roofer I contacted during my search.Jim explained all the different kinds of roof coverings, vents and exactly what he was going to do. He Inspected my gutters cleaned them out and recommended that I save some money and not replace them. He also installed a solar attic fan to increase the airflow and remove excess heat.
Jim was very professional and replied to my text messages and questions very timely. When it came time for the installation and removal of the old shingles it was done very quickly. He made sure the surrounding area was clean and free of any debris. I couldn't be happier with a job he did and the way he communicated. And oh yeah by the way his prices are very reasonable. If you choose box roofing I'm sure you'll be happy with the process and the finished product.

I had several problems with my 25 years old roof including, but not limited to, a leak near the chimney, rafters with dry-rot,  and an improperly installed skylight that needed to be replaced. I had several roofers to give me an estimate  for the job that need to be done, but none of them met my expectations. James, the owner of Buck's Roofing Inc , was the only roofer who was honest, details oriented, professional, licensed , and has a strong knowledge of the building codes. In addition, he is always on time and give me a reasonable price. I, definitely, recommend James and his crew for anyone who is looking for a nice professional roofer.

I got several quotes for roofing skylights. Jim came in at the best rate so we chose him. After we agreed to do the project, Jim came back and said it would cost 3x more than what he originally offered. In fairness to Jim, it was much more work than what he originally anticipated, but he should have taken the time to examine that before offering us a quote. After we hired him, he then told us we had to pay him in cash and that his quote didn't include any materials or supplies, which is normally what is covered when you have a quote for a job. We agreed to an hourly rate since we didn't think we would need him for all of the work. Then after they did the initial skylight install, he came back with two hours more than the original workers had spent installing on the roof. When I asking Jim what the extra two hours were for, he said it took two hours for his workers to go to the dump and dispose of the previous skylights. When I asked Jim why it took so long at the dump, he started yelling and swearing at me and said ""just pay me whatever you feel like"". I calmly told him that it was very unprofessional and inappropriate to yell and swear at a client and that I have a right to ask questions about lengthy times I'm being charged for after the workers leave the house. He responded by saying he's done with our job and we can work with someone else to finish. I asked that he have his workers at least finish sealing the skylights and we would pay for that time and we gave him the money for his hours, including the two for the dump disposal.

I wanted to share our experience to give you a heads up of what it may be like to work with Buck's Roofing aka Jim.

We live in the Southgate neighborhood in Palo Alto. In August, we interviewed four roofers and chose Jim Larsh and his team to replace our shake roof. Jim is an excellent communicator and outlined our options for us in clear detail. We were very happy with our Presidential Shake composite roof and it looks beautiful. We got a fair price from Jim after receiving bids from several Palo Alto roofers than were much higher for the same work, but cost aside, Jim was by far the most helpful, honest, and enthusiastic of all those who bid. Jim and his crew were a delight to have around. They did the best job possible of cleaning up debris from our garage and grounds and kept the noise to a minimum given the scope of the job. They were friendly and helpful and their work is superb. I cannot imagine a better or more professional team. I highly recommend Buck's Roofing for anyone looking to replace or repair a roof in this area.

Can't say enough nice things about Jim Larsh and his crew. I had a leak from my roof in the recent rains and reached out for help. Jim responded quickly ( on phone and in person).. gave me a very quick and clear estimate. He was good on his word to schedule our fix before the next batch of heavy rains within a few days. His crew did a fantastic, clean and professional job. His estimates were precise and the before and after pictures of the work were thorough. I would recommend Jim and Bucks roofing whole heartedly for all roof issues small and large.

needed a new roof during the first storm of this year, Jimmy from Bucks Roofing came highly recommended. I called him up, he made it over and up on my roof the next day, he told me what I needed which I already kinda new, a whole new roof.
Jimmy had his guys out there within 4 days and tore off the old one and installed a nice new roof. The only think I had to do was pick out the color. Him and his guys did a great clean job and cleaned up the grounds real good upon leaving. Thanks again Jimmy!
