Under the guidance of Chuck Brownlow, grandson of founder Roy Brownlow, the company is now in its third generation of leadership. Chuck's son Matt has recently come on board, representing the fourth generation in our family business.

Over the years, Chuck has managed and worked on hundreds of projects, from renovating kitchens and baths in Atlanta to various painting and remodeling tasks since the early 1980s. Chuck Brownlow, the company president, stated, ""Our grandfather started the company with our father after he returned from WW2, and they were soon joined by Dean Barlow."" He remarked, ""I’ve had ample time to learn from the best and uphold our family’s tradition of quality. I take pride in having my son Matt alongside me to continue that legacy.""

Thanks to our current leadership, the company has grown considerably and is now known as a leading construction and reconstruction firm in the Atlanta region.

We were shopping for remodeling contractors. I found Brownlow & Sons thru web search, so I called. Took 2 calls to get someone to return my call. Got a reply several days later and asked the gentleman for an estimate to remodel my bathroom. Couldn't even get on their schedule for approx 3 weeks. When the salesman finally came out he brought a colleague who introduced himself as one of the namesake owners. They took a look at adding a screened porch and re-doing my 3 bathrooms. The colleague left after 30 mins, but the sales guy stayed for about 2 hrs walking through our anticipated project with my wife and I. He said he would have us a bid in another 2 weeks. I never heard back, and I called left a message. Still nothing. That was May. It's September. A waste of all our time. Unfortunately I can't comment on their actual work cause I never got a chance to even consider them.

We moved on with another contractor. I'll write a review of the contractor who got the job when they're done.

We have used Brownlow for many years-seems like I've spent a small fortune with them. They've painted my entire house, and probably every room in it. They work quickly and efficiently. Alen, the crew leader or foreman, always responds quickly to every message. Most recently I asked them to do some painting work to spruce up my house in preparation to sell it. Alen actually talked me out of doing work that was not necessary. As usual they did a great job. They never ask for money up-front. You pay them when you are satisfied with the work. They are the best!

I had Brownlow & Sons recently quote a bathroom remodel. The person that came to do the measuring for the estimate answered a phone call with me standing there in my bedroom, then proceeded to continue the phone call with me leading him down the stairs and out the front door. It then took over a week to receive the estimate. Although they seemed helpful in answering my questions, I was basically laughed at when I expressed that I found some of it to be a little on the high side. I think I'll try and find someone else to do this job!

I sent an internet inquiry for an estimate for exterior painting, deck and gutters and never received a response. Thinking it got lost in the shuffle after a couple of days, i called to schedule an appointment. Its been a month and i have never received a call back or response to my internet inquiry. I cant imagine how bad service would be if they cant even return a call for new business. Cant understand why they are listed as a ""best pick""

We had 3 estimates done for our bathroom and picked Brownlow and Sons due to their reasonable pricing. They seemed to be busy and delayed our service for 3 months occasinally missing an e-mail here and there. As the time got closer, I e-mailed and called the contact to be sure I had everything that was needed. I never received an acknowledgement. The contractor finally called and set up a date to discuss our project. When he arrived, he was hurried and wanted me to move the project start date to 3 days before they were to start originally. I explained that since both my husband and I work, we would have a tough time doing that. Leonard seemed not at all concerned about that. He was very apparently more interested in his other larger projects which he mentioned to me, and he took phone calls about these while at my house. He also was not interested in doing anything more than what we discussed in the original estimate. The whole experience made me feel as though he did not care whatsoever about our project. The question is: Why did Brownlow take on the project and delay it for so long if they were not interested?!
