My experience with Robert Boyd was disappointing, frustrating and terrible.
When I spoke to him after choosing him. I told him exactly which shingles I wanted and I even asked him if he would like me to take a photo of the actual brochure that had the brand the name the style and everything on it and text it to him. He said yes, so I did.

I chose Owens Corning true defination duration 30 year architectural shingles in a Estate Gray.
I then took a picture of the actual physical brochure that said through definition duration with patented sure nail technology. I have a mid century mark modern house it has a very flat slope on the roof and I wanted the higher wind rating.
I looked up at the roof when I walked outside and they were putting it on and I asked him why did the shingles looks so flat? The true definition shingles are supposed to have a lot of dimension to them. He told me that once all the layers were on there that it would. I pretty much just took it as you can't really trust how something looks in a brochure.
They did my rope on a Saturday so they didn't come pick up the dumpster for it until Monday and I saw the empty packages in the dumpster and noticed that while the color on them was right which is but I looked at when he delivered them, that they were actually Owens Corning Oak Ridge shingles, which do not have this same fabric nailing strip.
My 1st thought was, could I have sent him to a picture of the wrong brochure? So I went back to write text message and I had definitely sent him the product that I wanted that's just not what I got. So I called Mr. Boy to see what we could do about it and he told me that he did order what I asked for so I asked him to look at our conversation and to pull up the picture that I sent him specifically sitting at the exact information. He then tried to tell me that hes been doing rooms for a long time and there is no difference between the two.
So, first of all, it really upset me that someone who has been doing this for a long time doesn't think that the details matter when someone is paying them thousands of dollars to make a choice for a change on their home that is supposed to last 30 years. And also, even with the photo I sent him still in his phone and the screenshot of the product pages showing the differences he just kept saying all that mattered was that they were the color I asked for! No apology, and a complete refusal to acknowledge that he had made a mistake even though it was clearly showing in the picture of the product brochure in our texts, and we specifically spoke about that Sure Nail Strip.

I can't say enough good things about Mr. Boyd and his crew. I needed someone to come out (last minute) and replace a roof-mount attic fan. Mr Boyd agreed to come out on a Sunday morning and take care of the job my house that has a crazy-steep roof. He was upfront about cost and made sure I understood what would be done before he even showed up.

Once on site, he and his team worked to quickly take care of the fan replacement. He brought all the tools, materials, and supplies with him and even gave my roof an inspection and checkup. His recommendations made sense he wasn't trying to snow me on something I didn't need. He even fixed some nail issues with my gutters I didn't even ask for that! It's been a few weeks since, and I have not had any issues with leaks and the fan works great.
