It is unfortunate that Bostok and Williams Roofing has only 4 reviews on yelp and that they are all one star. Obviously, my experience was very different based on my 5/5 rating. I recommend that anyone considering using Bostok and Williams read the reviews of this company on Home Advisor (116 reviews, 4.8/5 overall rating as of this writing), or Angie's list (8 reviews, 5/5 overall rating as of this writing) to gain a wider variety of customer experiences and opinions.
My situation was that I had been dealing with a leaking skylight for 3 years; during that time the leak had been patched twice (by a different company) but eventually leaked again both times. I had already decided to replace it if it leaked again, which it did during the first storm of the winter.
Based on past experience, I knew how tremendously difficult it was to get a roofing company to respond quickly once the winter rains have begun. I contacted multiple roofing companies and one skylight company. The skylight company and Randy (Williams) were the first to actually inspect the leak (I had to wait a couple of weeks for other roofing companies to show up). The two best estimates that I obtained were from the skylight company and Randy, which were both about the same price. The skylight company had a much larger staff and told me that they could get it done quickly, so I wound up going with them.
All the estimates that I had obtained listed a plethora of work that needed to be done in addition to the skylight replacement, to (hopefully) insure that there would be no future leaks. The leak appeared to have been the result of an inadequate previous installation, not a failure of the skylight itself.
Finally, the big day arrived and the technician from the skylight company arrived with the new skylight. I was anxious to finally have a new skylight installed and all the related work done to (hopefully) stop this leaking once and for all.
Except...the technician simply removed the old skylight and installed the new one without doing any of the corresponding work. When I showed him my contract, he simply told me that the work that was listed wasn't necessary and, anyway, it would cost twice that amount to do all that work. At that point, I knew I had a problem and I knew I needed an actual roofer to fix it. I was desperate and in a real jam.
Because he had been so personable - even when I informed him that I was going to hire another company to install my skylight - I called Randy. Honestly, I couldn't have blamed him if he didn't answer my telephone call and wasn't even sure he would. BUT HE DID. He assured me that he would take care of everything and not to worry about it. AND HE DID. He arrived a couple of days later with his helper, reinstalled the skylight and did all the extra work that needed to be done. They were up the there for quite awhile too; I've never been so glad to hear banging on my roof.
What a relief to have a guy with his experience, integrity and knowledge in your corner. Thanks Randy!

I hope you'll read all these reviews, and then choose another roofer. These guys are totally unreliable.

We contracted them for a roof repair job and gave them a $200 deposit. After waiting a few weeks, they finally contacted us and set up a date for the job, which was last Monday. They said they'd be there between 8 and 9 AM.

At 9:30, we called them to see where they were. We got a call back a little later that said they'd be there the next day, Tuesday, which didn't work for us. We gave them the option of Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. They chose Wednesday, and again said they'd be here between 8 and 9 AM.

Once again, they didn't show up, and again they didn't call to tell us they wouldn't make it. At this point we gave up on them and canceled the job.

My advice is to find another roofer. These guys don't keep their word, and don't even bother to call when they aren't going to show up. They treat their customers with complete disrespect, and don't seem to give a hoot when they fail to live up to their commitments.

If they don't want the job, they shouldn't take the job. They chose when they were going to show up, and we accommodated them by moving our schedule around - twice. And then they couldn't even call to tell us they wouldn't be here.

Please don't reward their total lack of integrity by giving them any business.

I cannot review their work, because we did not use them, or would we. They are doing work on our neighbor's house, blocking our parking space in front of our house. When speaking with them about freeing up the parking, the person was rude and uncooperative.

When I needed a new roof, in 2006, I hired this company (Randy) to do the job. I was happy to support a new business, and I was pleased with the customer service I received at the time, back when there was an office manager, who was co- owner and Randy's girlfriend. I suspect she is no longer there, because there is no longer an office phone or manager, and there is no longer any customer service. The business has gone DOWNHILL.
I made the mistake of referring two neighbors, and both reported to me that he failed to follow through with commitments, as scheduled, and failed to return phone calls. Most recently, I needed him to come out and check my roof and gutters, since they were clogged. I had already had my roof cleared twice in the fall,so I asked him to go up on my roof to take a closer look and see what was the problem. He had quoted me last year, the price of $150 a year for regular maintenance. My neighbors across the street we're also having a problem with their roof, so I gave them his number, and suggested in my message to him to schedule both on the same day for his convenience. My neighbor told me he came out, but I never heard anything back from him about my job. A week later, my neighbor asked if I had heard from him. Apparently, My neighbor been trying to follow up with him for days to discuss the work needed at his home, as per their discussion. What I learned later, is that Randye wasn't particularly interested in either job, which is why he just didn't return calls. I found out this had been the same situation with my other neighbor I had referred. Finally I reach him by phone. I asked him why he had not gone up on my roof to check things out as requested. He told me he just forgotten to call me back. Then he told me he looked at my roof from across the street, when he went up on my neighbors roof. Apparently, glancing at my roof from a roof across the street was his idea of an alternate way of conducting a professional inspection!!!!!
Then, he told me the charge to clear my drains of leaves and debris would be 225.00, despite his maintenance offer last year of 150.
Absolutely unprofessional, since the average industry standard rate for homes my size is between $60 and $100 ( for a small California bungalow )

to do this kind of simple drain clearing , I asked him why he had not returned my neighbors numerous calls, and he said he had no interest in the job. I asked him how he justify charging $225.00 for a customer. He said if you don't like it, go somewhere else. Trust me, I did. So did my neighbor, who just paid a nice chunk to a good professional company for a brand-new roof. Your loss, Randy. I found a new roofer who was very responsive and respectful and professional-he laughed when I told him Randye assessed my roof from across the street. He charge me $60 and went up and cleared the debris thoroughly. It took a half hour. I gave him a $40 tip.) Randy, this is not the way to build a reputation for repeat business, treating referrals for new business so disrespectfully, very similar to the other person who left a negative review. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Randy installed roof for us and gave decent price. However a part of agreeing was that he would come out the following year and check the gutters at no additional charge. When it was time to have this done, he was very hard to get in contact with it when I finally did it he had excuses of why he could not come to fulfill his promise. I wanted to give him the business because he was an independent small business and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt instead of going with the larger company, wrong move. He also told me his workmanship would be guaranteed but what good is a guarantee if you can't contact him and he doesn't come when you do. Unfortunately because of this the lesson that I've learned is to go with a larger reputable company that does lots of business and have plenty of reviews vs someone that youre trying to help out because they are a small business..actually I don't think he's even in business for roofing any longer. He should not of agreed to do something that he knew he was not going to fulfil just to get my business.

We had some gutter work needed for our home in Pleasanton. Randy Williams came out to give us a bid. Randy was very nice and provided us a bid in a timely fashion. For this, I can award one-star.

When it came to do the actual work, he did not show up on the days we agreed. No phone call. After giving up on him, we decided to go with another contractor. Randy and his coworker showed up the following Saturday asking to do the job and apologizing for missing earlier in the week. They mentioned they were busy on another job. I was concerned as we were going to be out of town. After much thought I agreed for him to do the job and call the other contractor to cancel. When we came back, the job was complete but not what I would call a ""quality"" job. We had a slight dent in the gutter. The patch job on a dry rotted beam was shoddy and showed globs of chalking. Fortunately, this is not visible when looking straight at the house. When Randy came for the check, he dismissed the dent and blamed it on the facia board. He did not offer to do anything about the dent nor discount the price of the work.

Randy and his partner might be ok to work on roofs but we were not happy with our gutter replacement job. We will be doing business with someone else for any roof or gutter work in the future.

I have a two story house in Daly City and my roof started leaking, so I called Bostok & Williams so they can make arrangements to go to my house and quote the repair. I guess that was not necessary, he gave me a quote of $1,300 over the phone, which I thought was odd. They go to my house and do the repair, so I thought. Two weeks later it starts raining and it continued to leak, I call Bostok and told them the situation and he said that the work is not guaranteed? So I go to Home Depot buy a can of Roof sealer and a strip of mesh and do the repair myself in 10 minutes. I noticed when I was on the roof that they did nothing to attempt to fix my roof, total rip-off. Next time I think I will do the work myself!!!!!!!
