Was quoted over two thousand dollars to replace ONE broken tile on my roof. My guess is they didn't want to do the job. At least be honest about it than send over an outrageous bid. I hate contractors that do this.

Bob Piva replaced our 25 yo cement tile roof approximately 10 years ago. They did an excellent and professional job replacing our large (5000 sq ft single story home + garage+ large skylight covered patio). with a US Tile roof. Work was done on time and cost was reasonable. Of 4 bids they were within 10% of the lowest.

Since then we have had them come out three times, twice for a tiny flap of torch down than came loose in a large high water flow valley (poorly designed by previous owner) and once because, we thought our complex patio skylight flashing was leaking, yet the leak was from a cracked skylight installed by another company.

All three times they were super-responsive and quickly remedied the roofing issue. They were also kind enough to cover the cracked skylight to stop it from leaking until repaired 4 weeks later though it was not their responsibility.

Brian and his team are great to deal and delivery a very high quality product at a fair price. Their workers and responsive, very pleasant and professional, and careful.

We highly recommend them.

I just had my whole upper roof (over 1000 sqft) replaced by Bob Piva Roofing. It all went smoothly, finished on schedule, and came out as promised. I have a flat roof, which was tar and gravel and prone to leaks. Piva Roofing replaced it with a double torched down surface, which to me it is more functional and easy to maintain. Keith Sievers and Manuel brothers did a fantastic job of removing my old roof and installing the new one. Manuel has many years of experience in torched down roof installations and, after seeing his work, I can attest to his expertise. Piva Roofing is not inexpensive, but I am very happy with the quality of their work. Brian Cahey, the project comptroller, and Keith Sievers, the project superintendent, both are experts in the roofing business. I would like to thank them all (Brian, Keith, Manuel and his two brothers), and Donna who would politely help me when I called the Piva office, for a job well done. If you need your roof replaced, specially flat roof, I'd highly recommend these guys.

I really wonder who is writing the bad reviews. I am a very picky customer and I don't trust contractors (have had many bad experiences in the past). I have had tile roofing problems on a number of previous homes (new construction defects mostly), as such I am pretty well read on roofing, code, best practices, etc.

I chose Bob Piva Roofing because I did not want some fly-by-night contractor who would be using a different business name in a year or two and who's warranties would be worthless (like probably some of the inexperienced contractors who came by on a web service referral to give me a quote). Since Bob Piva has been in business since the 1960s and I believe the supervisor has been with them since 1983, I felt more comfortable trusting their work and knowing they should be around if something were to leak or a warranty issue were to arise.

My job was a huge undertaking as I wanted all existing mission tile pulled and all sheathing replaced with low-e sheathing-this meant pulling 6 lb tiles and moving them around multiple times to complete the re-roof. The job also entailed pulling flat roof sections with torch-down roofing and replacing the sheathing underneath and then installing new torch-down. There was also a significant amount of bad starter board and fascia board that needed replacement and they have a full time framer to do this work. In addition I wanted to access the eaves with sheathing off to install insulation baffles from the top (I have a very low pitch roof with limited attic access). I also wanted a couple of new flashings installed so I could properly vent my range hood and bathroom exhaust fan.

In a nutshell they did a stellar job and I could not be more pleased with the results. The workmanship is excellent (believe me I checked everything as the work was proceeding), the site was kept very clean, and the workers were courteous. At times they had two lift trucks all day and a crew of seven or so working all day. Everything was done to code or better and they even painted all the new wood and any existing fascia that now showed unpainted or different color.

They weren't the absolute cheapest bid I had but they weren't way off either. All their workers are employees so you don't have to worry about someone getting hurt and suing you either.
They work regular workdays and not weekends which also tells me that they treat their employees well. They even brought in a porta-potty on a trailer for the crew,

Sometimes you get what you pay for. This time I paid a bit more and got a lot of value for money well spend. Good job and I will definitely recommend Bob Piva roofing to others!

BTW, this is a legitimate post-I am a home owner and chose Bob Piva roofing based upon my research and my comfort factor after discussing the work with the PM. I also have no interest or relation to them in any way. I just really appreciate a job well done (seems kind of rare these days) and wanted to express it to others.

If you are looking for an on time professional roofer keep looking! They moved my project 2 times and then gave me another maybe time to fill their contract. In addition I I felt they talked down to me. I do not recommend this company.

I called Bob Piva Roofing as I had a leak in my patio roof. He came out and he inspected the area and told me what the problem was and how to fix it. His two men came out and fixed the problem. The best part of all is that this is a business run with integrity, a rarity these days. I will never use any roofer but Bob Piva Roofing, they do the job right!

Bob Piva Roofing has taken care of our roofing needs on our condo in La Jolla for years and always does a great job. Recently hired them to remove a chimney and patch the hole with turned out great. Highly recommend these guys.

While investigating the cost of putting new rain gutters on our house we discovered our roof was bad and didn't have much life left on it. I knew immediately who to call for a quote. Bob Piva Roofing! Brian Cahey came out and gave us a great quote. We signed the contract that day. Throughout the whole process the crew was professional and clean. On the second day of the project Escondido got an unprecedented amount of rain (almost 2 inches). I was nervous because I didn't have shingles. But the crew had sealed the roof with waterproof paper and we didn't have any problems. They also repaired/replaced sections of rotted facia board and trim. I expected this to cost so much more than our original quote but the extra cost was minimal and looks fantastic. We are happy with our new roof. This company is wonderful. I would recommend them to everyone who needs a new roof.

My experiences with Bob Piva Roofing have been great! I have a rental home that needed some leak repairs, and had a crack in the skylight. They came right out and gave me estimate to fix everything and repaired the skylight without having to replace it! The top pane was cracked but the inner pane was still fine. So they caulked it, and saved me from having to get it replaced, for now. The rains came and neither the roof nor the skylight have leaked at all. I am very happy with their honesty, and the quality of work! I would definitely recommend this company!

Excellent service. When we had a leak in our roof -- installed by Bob Piva for the previous house-owner -- the owner came out immediately. Even though the problem was due to us (poorly-maintained trees had blocked a vent and caused the leak), he looked at the almost-expired 20-year warranty and sent two guys to fix it for free. The guys were friendly, polite, and cleaned the whole roof. I was amazed. Thanks Bob Piva Roofing!
