It pains me to write this as Bob had been a great person to work with in the past but on a recent large project he really dropped the ball. After work was completed and paid for I noticed a worrying defect that made me doubt whether the work done was sound. Weeks of emailing/calling Bob eventually got an email response promising an inspection/followup but when the time came promised and passed there was no word. I'm now having to fix this issue myself, out of pocket, with a new contractor. Very disappointing.

This was a while ago so I hope things may have changed for the better. When this company worked on my roof, it was not a good experience. It was very stressful for me. When I sold my home the roof had to be redone. In good faith I cannot recommend this company.

I initially contacted Bob Jones by phone. I left a message explaining what I needed. He called me back a few hours later and we made an appointment for the next day for between 11:00 and 12:00. At 12:30 he still hadn't showed up or called so I called him and left a message wondering what was going on. I called several more times that day but never heard back from him. Standing up a potential customer doesn't seem like a very good way to increase your client base.

Bob Jones was a subcontractor of the contractor we had hired a year and half ago. He was very friendly at the onset and seem knowledgeable at the time. We took his advice. We have
since talked to an energy consultant who does house enhancements everything from solar, roofs, windows, ceiling insulation and ventilation products. I told him how hot the internal temperature of the house was getting and how I had gotten a laser temperature gun to show the ceiling temperature. It showed that the insulation that I had them put in ....was not consistent. I had them come out for a leaking window on a skylight POOR WORKMANSHIP #1 . They told me that it was the skylight that needed replacing and they could do it for $500 excluding the cost of materials.
I remember that I had the conversation with them about the 35 year old skylights and Bob told me that they did not need to be replaced, that they were still good. The seals on the skylight were old and brittle. they needed to be replaced BAD ADVICE #1. The energy consultant recommended to deal with the excessive heating. attic fans. I told him that Bob recommended the removal of the existing fans BAD ADVICE #2. He said I would not need them since I was putting in additional insulation I was putting in radiant barrier with the 4 x 8 sheets that were installed and the roof cap ridge ventilation.

At the end of the project. I was getting letters from Bob Jones Supplier. the roofing materials supplier who supplied Bob with the asphalt shingles. They said they had not paid them.
I contacted my contractor and found out that they had already paid them. So I withheld the last payment. I called Bob SEVERAL times, but not once did they return my phone calls. I worked very closely with the supplier so that they would not file a lien on my house. I ended up calling his brother (Airtight Construction) who finally delivered a check to the shingle supplier.
BAD BUSINESS.

The only positive note is that his two Hispanic roofers did an excellent job and took care of us to insure that we did not have any leaks when it rain since we did this job in Winter.
