I worked with this company many years ago and they were great. Apparently they are under new ownership. We were ready to go for a new roof and they had the job in the bag - They sent Carlos out to give us a quote. He seemed very competent. I asked for three quotes: basic, insulated, and roof straps. After a week i received nothing. I called and eventually received only the basic quote from Carlos. I replied to the email and nothing. I called back two weeks later and the very nice secretary said Calos would call. No call. I called again a couple of weeks after that. The same very nice secretary said everyone in the office had Covid, but Carlos would call - No call. I waited a month and called again, same very nice secretary and no callback. I can only imagine what this would be like if I they had taken my money or my roof off...

I hired this company to fix all of my leaking gutters. I had to call them out multiple times to fix the ones that were still leaking. I still have one that leaks (the main one of concern which I explained when I got my estimate). They sent multiple crews on 5 separate occasions to try and fix it and now the owner tells me that it is a roofing problem not covered under my contract. I hired them based on reviews so hopefully this will help other people find a company that stands by their estimates/work.

We are very pleased. Chose Hilson after several other estimates; their price is definitely in line with others, but most importantly, they did a very thorough and high quality job. No mess left in our yard.

This was all during the Covid-19 pandemic. Janina, working from home, helped us with all of our questions every step of the way.

On October 16, 2018 my husband signed contracts to have our roof & lanai replaced by Hilson. We understood the lead time would be 3 months, so he followed up in February. He has tried to speak with someone about an approximate start date, has left multiple phone messages and sent emails. Last Tuesday, after more than 5 months, I called the office. Initially I was told they hold their planning meetings on Thursdays and someone would call me after Thursday. I said that was not acceptable, that we had initiated the permit process ~2 months ago, and that we had been trying to obtain information for weeks. Laurie was very polite and professional, and said she would have the owner call back that afternoon. The owner called to say he had to talk with the person who is in charge of production, and he would call me later that afternoon/evening with an update. I did not get a call on Wednesday or Thursday. I called again on Friday, and had to leave a message on voicemail. No return call. Their lack of follow up, combined with poor communication, has resulted in a very dissatisfied customer before they have even begun work. Our contract is for ~$45K (hip metal roof plus flat roof over lanai), and we have paid the required down payment but they never even called to provide updates or schedule the job. UPDATE 6/1/19: After I made multiple calls, they committed to begin work during a particular week, but never showed up or called regarding scheduling. At that point I left a message stating we were going to use a different company and requested a full refund. The owner called & asked that I give him another day to let us know when they could do the job. I did, and he said they could use a crew from a different company and begin the job in 3 weeks. I declined, requested the refund which he sent minus permit costs which we didn't discuss, but wasn't worth pursuing. Candidly, I had considered telling him I wanted him to pay interest on our money that he held for over six months without ever providing any services. We signed with Hurricane Metal Roofing & Remodeling who immediately began transferring the permit, started work in less than 2 weeks and finished in one week.

Ryan was great! I explained my roofing situation (minor issues after buying my first house) and he took care of it right on the spot during our estimate. He was very kind and friendly. Definitely utilize this company for any and all roofing needs. Honest, reliable, considerate. I would pay them double just based off of the ease and great service from Ryan. Thank you thank you!! Great company, great employees!

They have good prices and do excellent work!!
Mick and Grant will tell you the facts and you can count on them to make sure the permits are pulled and the job is done properly.

Made an appointment for them to give me an estimate. Took the day off of work so I could meet them. They never showed. I called to see what happened and was told they would come out any other time that was good for me. Made another appointment. Took another day off to meet them. Never showed at the appointment time. Showed up 4 hours early when no one was home. Called and asked to talk to the owner. Was told he would call me back. Still waiting.

After Irma I had some issues with roof..Contacted several companies for appraisal..I chose Hilson's,not the cheapest nor expensive.Right in middle.Everything was OK and I pay deposit on my roofing job.that was march 12.They told me I will be ""next one"" end of march or first week of April. Today is May 14th nothing is done-no show no call. I contacted office several times (5 be exact) cca. every 10 days.Response was -we call you back. .....and nothing! The new rainy season is coming and I still don't have fixed roof more than 2 months later...!

This Company is one of the few trustworthy companies out there. My husband and I are both Architects and we have dealt with plenty of roofers. Bob Hilson and Company are by far the best we have worked with. We originally used them for our own personal house remodel. They came through on time and communicated every step of the way on some adjustments we needed to make. Every charge was documented and communication was transparent. We later used them on a couple of projects and we have had nothing but good reviews from our clients. Fully recommend this company and will continue to use them in the future.

Don't waste your time. It's clearly they have too much on their plate. They told us it will take about 3 weeks to repair...and the worst part, it's been days since they came out to evaluate and we have yet to get the quote!
