I thought I had a leak in my dome vent above my living room, since a moisture spot was showing in my living room. I just had a new roof installed last year and couldn't get ahold of the company that installed the roof (They were totally ghosting me!) I contacted several roofing companies through google search and only 1 came out and gave me an estimate of almost $600 to fix the vent. After receiving a couple more expensive estimates and not being able to get ahold of the original roofing company, I decided to try roofers on yelp.

I actually reached out to another roofer, but yelp automatically messaged a few other companies as well. Andrew reached out to me right away, even though it was late at night. He also provided me with an instant estimate, which no one else ever did. His estimate was also the cheapest by far. He said he could come out the next day... I was already blown away by how good this all seemed.

Today (Sept 30th), he texted me and to let me know he would be at my house between noon and 1PM. He texted me 15 minutes before as well to let me know he was on his way. He was on time, and after we just looked up at the vent from the outside, he asked if he could look in the attic. No one else asked about the attic. Turns out I had a dead rat up there! He took pictures and showed the had been rat burrowing in different places. Turns out the moisture spot was most likely pee from the rat!! Yuck. It had probably just died from some poisoned ant bait I just put up in the attic.

He took a look and pictures of the inside of the vent... turns out there was no problem with it at all!

I am just so impressed with 1) Andrew's professionalism, 2) him getting back to me so quickly, 3) the up front estimate, 4) coming out the next day, 5) giving me a small window for when he would arrive, giving me updates, and showing up on time, 6) truly troubleshooting the issue and not just fixing a vent that didn't need to be fixed! oh and 7) I forgot to mention that he does have a warranty on parts and labor (I asked him since I had just been ghosted).

I feel very lucky that Blue Roofing contacted me back first on Yelp! Otherwise I would have just poured money down the drain fixing a vent that didn't need to be fixed!
