We have used Bill Shields Roofing on two previous projects and they are simply the best!!! Their prices aren't the cheapest, but the attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship is worth the price. We used Bill Shields to repair our flat roof and repair a hole in our front porch overhang. Both projects were completed quicker than expected and the price was extremely fair. We recently had roof damage during hurricane Milton and my first call was to Bill Shields Roofing. I imagine it will be a long wait since so many other homes were damaged during the hurricane, but I would not trust the roof over my head to be touched by any other company in Tampa.

This roofing company worked on my neighbor's roof and left dozens of these nails in my yard. I have small dogs and I asked if they were going to clean up all the nails flying off of the roof into my yard. They never did it. This is extremely reckless and dangerous, and it would have been a huge liability had my children or pets been injured by their nails flying off of the roof and negligently left all over my lawn.

Literally the rudest company I have ever run into. Never met expectations. Refused to return calls. And when, 5 months after they promised a roof they were ready and called, they hung up on me when I explained I couldn't get a call back from their office. The apple has fallen far from the tree. The worst of ten worst here.

I called for a quote and the estimator came the next day. He actually went up and walked the roof and took photos rather than rely on aerial photos. The price was competitive with 2 other quotes so I opted to use this established Tampa business. They worked quickly and efficiently and my new roof looks fantastic.

Doug Shields and his team were great to work with! They did a excellent job on fully replacing our roof. Because of their attention to detail and thorough job I will only call them them if we need help at our new house. I would highly recommend this company if you need a new roof or any repairs done!!!

I had Bill Shields Roofing do my roof a few years ago--had to wait to post until my warranty was up--in the event I needed it and could even depend on them to honor it.

I had a total roofing job done, including the replacement of the majority of the plywood. Doug Shields, after quoting the price, personally told me that if I needed more than a few sheets of plywood replaced he would discount the price from the high $80 quote per piece. I needed 21 new sheets of plywood! During the job, one of the workers stepped through two areas of my home. In my master bedroom, what started out to be about a 2 x 3 foot repair ended up being about a 6 x 8 foot repair due to them trying over and over to get it right. Almost daily, rather than having an experienced drywall company/person do the repair, the roofing supervisor would show up unannounced to do a little work. He would apply some drywall or popcorn and leave, and I would see him a day or two later. He would leave brown paper on my walls until he returned, unless I took it down. This went on for at least 6 WEEKS AFTER the roofing job was completed.

At one point they hired an individual to attempt the repair--this young guy went to Home Depot to buy ONE can of spray popcorn repair at a time--he did this THREE times, buying one can and going back to buy one more--each time he would be gone for an hour. He couldn't get the repair done correctly, so they resumed sending the supervisor to work on it.

So yes, SIX WEEKS of no-notice visits and disruptions to my living space and they still could not get the repair done. They wore me down and I finally got tired of the near daily visits by their supervisor, and accepted the job, in which I still have 1/4 of my bedroom ceiling not matching the rest. When I called to explain the situation to DOUG SHIELDS and asked him if he could at least give me a break on the price of the 21 sheets of $80 plywood as he had said he would--his comment, in a nutshell, was that the job was a bit more than he had anticipated and that the final price was as written in the contract.

I heard this company was really good at one time, but they apparently have more business than they need and their lack of customer service definitely shows it.

Mr. Shields and his crew were very respectful and a pleasure to deal with. The completion on my new roof took longer than expected but it looks like they did a very good job. The roof is only 3 months old. I got 3 quotes and the prices were all competitive.

Bill Shields Roofing is by far the best Roofing Co in Tampa. I've used them for 40 years and have always received great service and no one does a more quality job than they do. The bottom line is if you want a roofing job that will last and one that the company will stand behind then use Bill Shields. There are a lot of fly by night people in this business, make sure you choose someone you can trust and that would be Shields

We used Bill Shields Roofing to put a new roof on a house. After Hurricane Irma, some(8-9) tiles were broken due to broken tree limbs. They gave me an estimate to replace the broken tiles of $2885.00. The entire new roof was only approximately $10,000 three years ago! I called another roofing company with a 4+star Yelp rating for an estimate. After inspection, the estimate (with the identical work description) was $950.00. Nuff said.....
