We are a family-owned company, proudly operating as fourth-generation contractors.

We specialize in all kinds of roofing installations. We handle both commercial and residential roofing. We are equipped to manage all roof repair needs. In addition, we offer commercial and residential painting and coatings. We handle all types of carpentry work. We also specialize in all types of siding installations. Our grandfather, Jim Wells, started Big Jims Construction. In 1972, he launched the business in Acadiana alongside his three sons. It was tough to grow a business in the 1970s due to high inflation and uneven economic conditions. Despite these challenges, Jim Wells remained determined. He worked tirelessly and trained his sons to do the same. He emphasized that doing quality work would attract more opportunities. With over 50 years in the industry, Big Jims Construction continues to thrive. We attribute our achievements to him and give all credit to God.

Fully licensed and insured. We hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Our experience exceeds 50 years. We are a family-owned and operated business. As fourth-generation contractors, we carry on a proud tradition.

I have dedicated my life to construction, particularly in commercial and residential roofing, painting, and siding. Born in 1959 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I grew up in this industry. I started with installing asbestos slate roofs and wood shake shingles. With my upbringing in this industry, I've seen and experienced nearly everything. :)
