I had an excellent experience with Big Fish. Pricing was competitive, communication was excellent throughout, foreman and crew were upbeat and focused on their work, I watched all day, seemed like a seasoned and disciplined group. The owners were engaged in the process throughout. 1800 sq foot home and tool shed completed in one day. Everything went according to plan. Good clean up at the end. Definitely would suggest getting a bid from them if you're looking into it.

Mike came out to look at my roof to add additional ventilation on 06/09/20 and said he would get back to me in a few days with a quote. I hadn't heard back, so I texted him on 06/19/20 and asked if he had the quote ready...no response. I called the office and they said he was working on quotes and that they would have him call me back. Today is 07/03/20 and I've heard nothing. Awful customer service!! If this is how you conduct business, I'm so glad that Big Fish Roofing WILL NOT be doing the repairs to my roof. Good luck in the future if this is how you intend on running your business.

We purchased a home in Mandarin in Jacksonville, FL on which Big Fish had just installed a NEW ROOF with a warrantee in 2019. It took us multiple tries to get anyone to call us back regarding the leaks we were experiencing after we moved in. My husband had no success whatsoever getting anyone to return his messages. I finally got them to call me back and come take a look at it. They said it was fixable and although it may not be under warrantee, they would be able to come repair it the first part of this year (2020). Multiple calls and texts (directly to Steve) and emails to his partner / manager of this company, and no one would even give us the time of day. Nothing. Not a single answer to any of it. Terrible service. Zero reliability. We would have paid them to fix it -- we just weren't a big enough job for them to bother with. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone! We ended up getting Matt Reese of Reese Roofing who did the job in a timely manner for a ridiculously fair price, and guess what? No more leaks, and he has a satisfied customer for life! Probably would give them even LESS than 2 stars if we had been the ones who paid for the roof in the first place. I just cannot deal with businesses who don't give a darn about the little guy, or stand behind their work and word.

I chose Big Fish Roofing for a roofing replacement at our 2nd home in Fernandina Beach based on a recommendation from a friend and the fact that they promised to start the project at the end of that week (it being their slow season, he said). The other representation was that I would pay when they finished and I was happy with their work. So I signed their contract. However, they did not start that week. It took them over 3 weeks to get started (and numerous calls by me), and on the day they said they would re-roof, I drove from Jacksonville to Fernandina specifically to inspect the job intending to give them a check, and there was no one there - no work, no call from the office that they were not coming, nothing. A few weeks later they did the re-roof, but I was out of town. 2 weeks later I get a call at my office telling my staff that that they would lien the house if I did not pay. (Mind you, they were more than 3 weeks late in doing the roofing job and this was 2 weeks after they did the work.) I had not had the opportunity to get there during daylight hours (it was winter) to inspect the work. This is not the way a reputable company should be doing business. Not doing what they promised and then threatening a lien 2 weeks later? My recommendation is to use another company.

We waited a few months to leave a review to allow feelings to settle. If you do not have a construction background, I'd not suggest using Big Fish, as we had to challenge them several times on decisions they attempted to make for us that were not right nor their place to make (i.e. Attempting to use skylights that were not the right size but what they had on hand and felt comfortable installing). In the skylight argument, Big Fish went so far as to even suggest reinstalling the original 30-year-old skylights. Who suggests something as crazy as that?! In short, if you are not comfortable being the foreman of your own roofing job, pick another company.

My experience with Big Fish Roofing was beyond my expectations. They showed up on time, introduce themselves in a professional manner, and explained the problem to me in detail. They were able to resolve the issue with my roof the same day. I feel so grateful to have such an honest and dependable business servicing the Jax Beachs community.

We used Big Fish to fix a roof leak a couple years ago. The team that fixed the roof fixed the leak but used shingles that weren't even close to matching the existing shingles. We were told that was the closest that they could get to the existing shingle. Fast forward, we got really tired with how bad the repair looked and We were ready to have the shingles changed and to pay for it again. On a whim, we called Big Fish to see if they would fix the problem. The gentleman who came outsold us he was the new owner and he knew who did the original repair. He wasn't surprised the job wasn't satisfactory. They came back out, changed out the shingles with a color that is a pretty good match and we never saw a bill. He didn't have to do that. The work was great and we are now very happy.

Steve came out, looked at the roof and recommended some repairs that I could do myself. While I can't comment on the quality of their work, having someone tell you you do not need a new roof is priceless.
