I had my home re-roofed by Big D for $20,000 and now it is leaking from a bathroom exhaust fan area. I hope their idea of a fix is not to just caulk around it because that is not the professional way to repair it. The roof vent and shingles around it should be removed and also the roof sheathing that is now water soaked so they can see what is causing the leak When the roof was being done they said there was water damage sheathing that had to be replaced so the same should apply for the fix. I am waiting for them to return my call and I will follow up with the results.

But there is much more to the story. I asked the salesman Randy and also Chris if the workers were employees or subcontractors and they said they were employees. The workers showed up in there own vehicles and trailers with no markings indicating they were from Big-D and none spoke English. I got the impression that it was a family. There was an elderly lady whose job it was to go around and pick up nails and debris. Then there was a ridge vent that they removed and did not replace. I brought that to there attention by showing them a picture of the roof that I took before they came because they couldn't understand English. Then there was flashing that was faced with stucco that they chipped away that I noticed after they left and Big-d sent someone back to repair that. Then there was a discrepancy of how many pieces of sheathing had to be replaced at $80.00 a piece. Chris said they usually replace 10.Then they were supposed to re-nail all the existing sheathing to the rafters to meet code. There are many hundreds of nails coming through the sheathing that missed the rafters that I see from the attic. Bid-D sent some one to look and said they could do nothing about it now. Also I can see there are several spots where the particles are coming off the shingles. They spray painted the plastic exhaust vents and the paint pealed off.
No one from the Marion County Building Dept came to inspect even though you have to pay for a permit

Similar experience to Phil H review of 12/19/22...Workers trampled and killed about 100 sq. ft. of landscaping causing approx $200 in damage and leaving 100 sq. ft. of ruined, deep rooted ground cover. I'm 70 yrs old, disabled and missing a lung. Owners - flat out refused to return my calls. After about two weeks got a call from a VERY smarmy guy named Caleb who told me they weren't going to do anything to mitigate what their crew did to my property. Still getting cost estimates but am probably looking at $4-500.00 for labor and materials. That's no way to treat a customer who paid them $4500 for the reroof.

Workers appeared to have done a good job. My problem is with the owners. There was minor damage to screen over the pool. One worker pointed out what happened so no big deal, right? Wrong.

I called their office for weeks without hearing a peep. We had the screen fixed for a 100$. I then took the bill to their office where the shit show was about to go down. The female owner came out and basically told me to pound sand and they were not responsible. I countered with Bull Shit and that got her husband, Big D I presume who was standing 3 feet away and out of sight to enter the ""discussion"". He also had a 300 pound sophomoric idiot with him who immediately started ugly name calling. I was a "" cheap bastard"" a mother- fer all while another customer was right there. This ape wanted to fight right now. It was the most unprofessional situation ever. For 100 bucks of damage on a $45,000 job. Classy.
I finally walked out with my $100 in cash. For $100, they're willing to trash what credibility they may have had. I wouldn't use this place if they were the only one left. Pitiful.

They showed up with a small army around 7 a.m. The noise was reminiscent of a saw-blade eating the roof. They replaced the wood, shingles and felt paper in just over 6 hours, I did not know this was possible. They stopped maybe 2 times for a few minutes to refill the generator, I think they did this without eating, they cleaned up the hot pockets I tossed out the window to compensate their expected hunger. Plastic was laid all around the house, when they left the property you never would have known they were there.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I contacted this company and was trying to speak with the owner about their services and I was kind and was brief and who I was speaking with and they hung up the phone in my face. I called back because maybe it was a mistake and they were so rude to me saying they did not want to talk to me and hung up the phone on me again. I was going to put in word for this company, but now I am not. If you want to go with a professional roofing company that is NOT rude to callers, go with Dutchman Roofing!

HORRIBLE! Communication failure over and over. The quote was for shingles, wood, and fascia. Fascia was never done and was told would now be an extra charge; Upon arrival, ran over the front patio with a dump truck, destroying it, then had the audacity to blame it on us, the homeowners. Then proceeded to charge us an extra grand for said patio. Will NEVER use again. and will do my best to make sure nobody gets screwed over like we were. ZERO STARS!
