I called Bland for roofing as they said they did roofing among other things, but they sent out Jose from Big Builders to do the repairs without saying anything. We were told it would be $900 and take several hours. The guys came over 2 hours late, worked for an hour, sat in their car for a while and left without saying anything. We had to call Jose to see what was going on. He confirmed they were done. He admitted the cost of materials was $150, and the other $750 was labor for 1 hour of work! Such a rip off. Do NOT use this company!!!

Highly over priced, and dishonest. Owner said I had a leak and needed to replace unit. I decided to get a second opinon and it turns out it was my fan moter. unit is running good no issues. this company can not be trusted. they are out to make as much money as possible out of each customer. STAY AWAY

Terrible service. Guy who said he was the owner name was Jose told me I need a brand new air conditioner twice the size of the unit I had. I asked him to look at my ducting because I had 1 room in the house that didn't get cool. He said he didn't need to go up in the attic and look he already knew it needed to be replaced and said I needed all new ducting and I had to install dampers in the ducts to re direct airflow into the room not being cooled. I decided to get a second opinion and the very nice gentleman of the other company gladly went into my attic to tell me my system was not only sized properly but my ducting was in great shape and he proceeded to adjust the air dampers that already existed in my system and everything was great! If I could give big builders or as I refer to them now (scam artists) negative 5 stars I would.

If I could give this company NEGATIVE STARS I would. The previous owners of our home went through this company to fix our AC unit which was on our request for repair- come to find out they didn't fix ANYTHING. And to top it all off when asked for a receipt for the transaction they provided three different receipts. Can someone say shady? They simply put a bandaid on our compressor and now I have to be in a home with my 3 toddlers with a non working AC unit until Fidelity warranty takes care of it. If you're going to fix something don't just do patch work, fix the unit!!!

If the owner is Jose, they did the job not by professionals, gaps around the door not sealed properly. The AC doesn't cool down one of the bedrooms. We used the HERO Program and they used every single dollar we qualified for. I'm in for $22,000 for an AC, three doors and five windows plus I never got an itemized bill stating what each item was for or the cost for labor. I feel disappointed and feel I was ripped off. I don't recommend this company.

My mother is 75 , Its 109 today, My mothers AC went out yesterday at about 8pm ( Im not in town so I could not help). She has appliance/electrical Insurance, so she called them and they told her 24hrs someone would come by. My mothers condition dictates that she must stay out of the heat. When I was concerned for my mothers health I made a call the next day To the contrator (Insurance only care about $)when the temp started rising . A polite man named Jose (come to find out was the owner) answered the phone I explained the situation, he immediately pulled a man off another job and sent him over (less than 15min a tech was there) They got the AC up and running in a matter of minutes. ATTENTION OTHER BUSINESSES ......THIS IS CALLED GREAT SERVICE!! Please follow Big Builders blueprint of kind, generous service I highly recommend Jose and Big Builders....Thank you Jose and Co

My rating? A big fat O. Do not allow these scammers in your home. I purchased a Groupon to have a HVAC inspection and cleaning. The 1st, very kind young man, told me that the circuit board was in terrible shape, had probably been in a fire and needed to be replaced, also that the unit used an older type of refrigerant which would cost $600 each time it needed to be charged, among many other thing, is, it needed to be replaced but he had to call the nearby supervisors to verify everything he told me. These 3 guys surrounded me in my tiny kitchen, all talking at once, throwing terms and prices around to the final effect that it would cost me $2300 (minimum) to check for leaks and fix or $3300 to replace. The next day, my nephew, an HVAC student at SJVC, came over, showed me the tag on my unit (which was flapping in the breeze) that states it has already been converted to the newer, less expensive fuel, showed me the perfectly good circuit board, held his finger on a coil that had not been contacting for a few minutes. Yes, it is very low on coolant, but cool air was blowing in 10 minutes! And he cleaned up the unit, on my place which I just purchased. It has been empty for 5 months. Word..Never spend this kind of money without getting a second opinion! There are scammers everywhere waiting to separate senior citizens from their social security!
