If you're looking for an experienced local roofer brimming with integrity ... I had an incredibly positive experience with Ben Benelli this weekend. We are looking into solar and were advised to have our roof evaluated and, if need be, replaced ASAP, as the cost of reroofing increases by at least $3K (!!!) to remove and reinstall solar panels for roofing work. The first roofer--highly recommended by someone we trust and with many positive online reviews--was professional, informative, said we had about 4-5 yrs remaining on our roof and advised a new roof, given the solar plans. The bid was $25K. Because my mom always told me to get at least two bids for major expenses (well, she advised three), we also got Ben's contact info; he was highly recommended too and because of his busy work schedule offered to swing by on Saturday morning. I mentioned we'd already been told the roof only had 4-5 yrs remaining and I asked for a bid. He asked if he could evaluate the roof first and then told me that, much as he loves new business, he believes our roof has closer to 10 years on it. When I asked if he does 1/2 roof projects (I was thinking perhaps it still made sense to put a new roof under where the panels will go), he again advised against it and listed all of the extra costs I'd incur by doing half the roof now. He then proceeded to apply roofing glue around a roof vent that hadn't been properly affixed to our roof years ago (it could leak at any time, he said), refused payment for that, and when I asked ""out of curiosity"" what he'd charge for a new roof, he said it would be around $15K. That's right, $10K less than the first bid. (I only told him the first bid after he gave me his bid). Long way of saying, if you've got an upcoming roofing project, want your roof evaluated, or think it's a good idea to save a roofer's info for future reference, then Ben Benelli is your guy!

Ben is the real deal - great work, amazing hard working friendly polite crew and he does exactly what he says he's going to do. The two roofs he replaced for me are beautiful, don't leak (big storms came right after) and the site was immaculate after a pretty messy job. I wish I could give him 6 stars...

Great experience with Benelli roofing. Called in the morning and luckily Ben was able to come same day. Loved that he arrived exactly when he said he would. Checked everything out and had a great advice. Will use Ben again!

Ben Benelli and his two employees, Norman and Cody, replaced our roof the week of June 8, 2020 and did a fantastic job.

That's only part of the story. I had a very good feeling about Ben during his initial visit on February 26. He listened to my thoughts and ideas, provided keen insights, and made sound recommendations. My roof sagged in two places indicating dry rot in the plywood beneath the existing shingles. He carefully explained how to improve the ventilation system without increasing the risk of potential fire damage, patiently answering any of my questions. When I mentioned my idea of having the house treated for pest control after the old shingles were removed and the damaged areas were repaired but before the new shingles were added, Ben was very open and supportive of this arrangement.

We waited until mid-June when the days would be long and dry. In the meantime, Ben and I kept an active two-way communication via e-mail in which he was very responsive to my questions and concerns. His bid for the job was very consistent with his estimation and included the details we discussed, such as providing zinc strips along the ridges to minimize moss build-up, cutting and soldering dormer corners, installing vents on all ridges, and painting new pieces of exposed wood.

Ben, Norman, and Cody were always punctual. I appreciated how Ben treated his fellow workers with a mutual respect. They communicated well and discussed how to find solutions to unexpected problems. For example, a source of the water damage originated around the housing of the chimney top. So, they used their carpentry skills to widen that area, as well as repair a third area of wood damage that was discovered in addition to the two original areas of damage.

The additional charges that Ben added to the original estimate due to the unexpected discoveries were appropriate and very reasonable. Each day they cleaned up after themselves leaving my property around the house looking the same as at the beginning of the day except for their tools and roofing materials, with which I had no problem and after which I granted their request for permission to do so.

From start to finish I have not a single complaint about my experience with Benelli Roofing. Ben was supportive, attentive, consistent, affable, and communicated well with me and with his employees. The work was excellent at a very reasonable price. I am so happy with my new roof. I would recommend Benelli Roofing to anyone with a roofing need.

Ben Benelli just finished a small but troublesome issues that included leaking and subsequent dry rot. He did an excellent job. This was a small job other roofers did not want to even look at for an estimate. Ben drove to Cloverdale, gave us a very reasonable estimate for the repair and replace of the dry rot. After tearing apart the facia, more dry rot was exposed, he repaired that as well and did not change his quote. I appreciated how timely and professional the the work was completed. I give him my highest recommendation.

This is the 3rd time we have used Ben, and this was a big job that he completed quickly and perfectly. He goes far beyond what is just necessary to do a complete project, is in contact before any additional expense and is totally customer centric. Also, he is a great guy!
