We live in a historic home in Pasadena that is over 100 years old. When we discovered internal water damage, we called out four different roofing companies to get estimates. We had patched the roof previously and knew it was time to get a new roof. Nervous about the cost and finished product, we greeted each company and walked them through the property to assess the job and provide estimates. The thing we were not at all expecting was the variety of cost and description of work that each estimate would contain. Benefit was not the cheapest, but we were completely blown away by the detailed estimate, transparancy with costs (especially adding a layer of plywood that the city of Pasadena requires), and time that he took to speak with us about the job. No other company came even close to that level of customer care. Before we signed a contract, Alan (the owner) returned a second time to take a few additional measurements in order to make sure that he would be able to work with our existing (asbestos) siding. He was so thorough and so very patient, spending an hour of his time discussing everything, answering our questions, and making sure that we felt comfortable moving forward. I mention all of this because we did our research and felt that Benefit Roofing was unequivically the right choice for us. Alan, was so hands-on throughout the process. He texted or called every day and stopped by daily to inspect the work of his various crews. If the work was not to his satisfaction, he called them to come back and make everything perfect. We did have a few items that we brough to his attention, but he went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect in the end. Our roof looks wonderful! We are so happy with the quality of work and feel that it was well worth the money. Without hesitation, we recommend Alan and his wonderful team at Benefit Roofing!

We had a leaky garage roof that needed to be replaced. We hired Benefit Roofing and had a good experience. Alan, the owner, arrived for the estimate on time, did an inspection, and provided a detailed written contract.

Alan's communication was excellent throughout the process. He called or texted with frequent updates or with information he thought we should have. He sent us photos and video of the problems the crew uncovered after the old roof was removed, so we could see for ourselves why there were added costs to replaced rotted wood. When we had an issue with the demo, he responded immediately, brought along his pro, and fixed the problem to our satisfaction.

When the roof was completed, Alan did a final inspection, and even after I'd paid him the final balance, he said he wanted the crew to come back to fix one or two things to make the roof perfect. The crew came a few days later and did the work.

I found Alan to be easy to work with, knowledgeable, and conscientious. And when we re-roof our main house, he will be on the top of the list of roofers we'll call.

Communication was perfect from the beginning. We received a QUICK response to our initial inquiry for roof repair. And the follow up was EXCEPTIONAL! Truly like no other business. My experience with other vendors has been that they reply to your initial request for a quote with some general questions, but then it is total ghost town. Not with Alan, we received timely responses from him throughout every stage of the process. We were able to quickly arrange a meeting at the property needing roof repair, and as a result, we received immediate feedback via a detailed and clear proposal for services. Benefit is an amazing company! They were prompt, responsive, accommodating and polite. Most importantly they are honest! We had a small leak through a light fixture. With most roofing companies unless you know a lot about roofing yourself I'm not sure how you would really know when your roof needs replaced unless it's glaringly obvious. Ours is getting up there in years. But after our assessment Benefit told us we have some life left and don't need a replacement right now. In fact he gave the recommendation not to replace the roof but rather look at repairing a crack in siding and a window sill to fix the leak before resorting to an expensive roof replacement. Two other companies we got both recommended roof replacement despite admitting that the roof didn't look bad. I really appreciate the honesty of Benefit Roofing. Call them!

We had Benefit Roofing completely re-roof our house. And they were able to give us a fair quote that was comparable amongst the other vendors. They were not cheapest but not the most expensive. However, we had a great experience with the team and Alan was very involved and transparent. Although we had to increase the scope, Alan was very transparent and itemized all work and explained each line item. He was available and engaged at every step of the project. Stop. Your search ends here. I am often leery of glowing Yelp reviews, but in this case, they are spot on. I had three estimates, and Benefit Roofing exceeded my expectations. They were prompt, exhibited safety protocols and good communication, and gave a reasonable estimate. Alan, the proprietor, presented a detailed estimate with clarity. I appreciated his answering my questions with patience and without condescension. Everything was itemized - no surprises. It was a small job (garage roof), but it was done speedily and with care. Again, communication was key - pictures were sent and texts were answered quickly. Timeline was adhered to; and when the job was done, the worksite was neat and trash-free.
