We were living 600 miles away while our house was remodled. It was a 30 year old house with ghastly faux painting and wall finishes everywhere, and a disastrous kitchen. Matt was wonderful to work with on the roof. Lorne, Lauren, Jamal and Jose were able to make this house a home. There were frustrating communication problems frequently, and Benchmark is more expensive than others, but they did a wonderful job on our home. The result is beautiful.

Lorne Brown's company has re-roofed my home, done some exterior painting including fencing and concrete slab, has replaced my front step and set up a better drainage system, has added gutters, replaced interior and exterior doors, and has remodeled my basement. All of the work has been professionally done at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Benchmark.

I needed a new roof. The guy who came out and gave the quote (Matt) sounded so great. I was sure I had the right company after talking with several other companies. He assured me he would be at my job on the day the roof was installed. I even called him on that day, and he said he would be there in the late afternoon. He never showed up or called. In fact, he never called me again. When I contacted him by text a week after the roof was done, he didn't respond. I heard from one of his workers that he broke his phone (for an entire week as a contractor???). The other excuse was that he had a sick family member. I know he was working in Tennessee on the tornado homes which seemed to take precedence over my job. I was told by Abe, that he or Matt would be at my house the day after the roof was put in to bring his metal detector and check for nails. That never happened. In fact, again, no one contacted me until I texted a week later. I found nails all over my driveway and yard. The workers weren't careful at all about where they threw the old shingles. They damaged almost all of the flowers I had just planted in the front and a couple of shrubs in the back yard. They didn't put the dish back up right, so I was without TV for a week until Dish could come. they damaged siding which was not repaired. The roof eyebrow above my garage was done very poorly, even Abe who came out to look at it after a week or so agreed. I have plenty of pics but I don't know how to attach them here. Run, literally.
Be 100% sure you get several other quotes before hiring these guys.

We had a few minor repairs to do before selling our home.
This company quoted $850 to do 1/2 an hours worth of caulking. One tube of caulk.
Another company completed the work for $125.

A very minor roof repair quote was $550.
20 minutes and one nail was all the job took.

Some contractors will do very high ""opportunistic"" quotes for small jobs they really don't want.
This is one of those companies. It's gouging.

Benchmark came out and replaced our roof in one day. Two weeks later and we are still waiting on our gutter guards to be fixed (that they broke), have the water damage in our bedroom fixed, and have other exterior repairs we were quoted done. Twice the company has scheduled to come and fix these issues and twice half an hour after they were supposed to show up they cancelled on us. Both times I was told they had other jobs that needed to be done. I guess my money isn't as green as other people's.
