Peter Kim provides the ultimate service for his customers! He helped plan and price a solar installation with SunPower , and at the end of our negotiations, he said, ""You're not rid of me yet!"" Little did I know the level of support that he would provide!

He showed up on our initial day of installation - surprising even the installer, who told me that sales staff rarely show up on installation day. He has kept in touch, checking in and taking care of issues that have arisen.

Most recently Peter contacted me to make sure that I followed through on an application to receive a $1,700 rebate provided by PG&E to customers who have a solar installation with a battery. I will receive a check from PG&E for that amount because of him. Peter delights in delivering the *best* for his customers.

Peter was a nice enough guy, but his prices were way inflated. In general, after doing lots of research, I've found almost all SunPower-based systems to be overpriced by nearly 50% vs spec'ing your own system.

If you are willing to do your own research, and find a dealer willing to help, you can likely save $15k+, and wind up with the same panels, inverters, racks and controllers as the big guys for a whole lot less.

The reason I'm giving one star here is the lack of transparency around cost, commissions, and panel specs. Peter had a great plan for my residence, but the moment I started asking questions about panel specs, inverters, etc--he clammed up. He offered to send them over later, but never did. No follow-up either.

Seems clear to me that Peter's bread and butter is those that don't ask questions, and are willing to pay what are likely some rather large commissions. If you are looking around wondering whether you got taken by Peter, just go look at your roof, and ask yourself who installed it. If it was Peter, I feel bad for your bank account.

I personally don't believe in inflated commissions and a lack of transparency, and neither should you!
