Battalion Roofing replaced our entire roof after the May hail storms in San Antonio. We did a detailed comparison of the material and pricing against three other roofing companies. Battalion Roofing ended up being the best value on paper. The tear down and install did not disappoint. Drew did an outstanding job on meeting his committments and doing what he says he will do. Apart from value, service is a big differentiator for us. The crew completed a big job in 2 days, were extra vigiliant about not chipping the stucco and they cleaned up throroughly after the job was done. Drew and Battalion Roofing have my highest recommendation.

Todd from Battalion came out promptly and thoroughly inspected the roof before sending me his bid. Very helpful answering questions, and options, just a great guy, very professional.
Their bid was not the lowest, but quite reasonable so I went with them based on their Yelp reviews.
The team showed up as scheduled, and did a great job. Cleaned up thoroughly after. My roof looks great, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. Also, I needed some follow up work done on the gutters they installed and Todd sent a team out to address the issue the next day!

He stood me up during the crazy rain storm last weekend. He said he couldn't come out to check anything but he had a guy who would be here within an hour to put a tarp on the house until he could. Two hours go by and I ask Stephen for an update. He says the guy went to Home Depot for a tarp. Another two hours and Stephen says ""he will be there."" Day turns to night and it's pouring, so clearly no one can put a tarp on anything in the dark. I text Stephen again and he says his guy isn't answering his calls. That's it? Thanks for absolutely nothing. And what's up with not knowing where your workers are? I don't buy it. And if it's true then he's got bigger problems than this review. Best of luck with your ""business.""

I just had a terrible experience with Battalion Roofing.

BR ran a promotion to get new business. I bought one of their $300 vouchers to have them walk the roof and seal exposed nail heads, check the seal on the flashing, etc.

I called and arranged with Steven for someone to come out the following Monday.

Monday arrives, I wait at home all day, and NOBODY COMES. NOBODY EVEN CALLS.

I called Steven that evening to find out what happened. They were busy at a big job site that turned out to be more work than anticipated. NO APOLOGY. He said he would try to get someone out Friday afternoon, but he sounded really stressed. ""Would it help if we just did it next week?"" I asked. ""I just need it done before the next rain -- it doesn't have to be this week."" He seemed relieved, saying ""If I could just have this week to focus on that other job, that would help."" We agreed that he would call the following Monday.

Monday arrives, and NO CALL. Stood up again!!! So I called Steven again in the evening. He DID NOT ANSWER his cell phone. I left a message asking what happened and reminding him that there was a big storm coming through.

Tuesday morning, still NO RESPONSE to my voicemail, so I left another.

Tuesday afternoon, still NO RESPONSE. Rain coming the next day. So I left another message, telling him that I was upset that he hadn't called as promised and wasn't returning my calls. I told him to ""step up.""

I got a call back; he was clearly annoyed. ""I can send someone out Wednesday at 1pm -- best I can do."" I managed to get out ""Steven, we talked about this"" and he interrupted me: ""Fine, you don't like it? Get someone else.""

Of course, there was no time to get anyone else -- he had strung me along for almost three weeks, and now it was too late. I told him that Wednesday at 1pm would work.

Wednesday morning, I had voicemail from him saying that he didn't like that I had told him to step up, that he had no contractual obligation to me (what about the $300 voucher???), and that he wasn't sending anyone out, that I should find someone else to do the work.

There were so many ways he could have done better:
1. He could have stopped soliciting business when he realized he didn't have enough staff to do the work.
2. He could have told me on day one that he had made a mistake in not terminating the voucher program, that he was too busy for me.
3. He could have hired temporary help.
4. He could have refrained from making appointments and then blowing them off.
5. He could have called to reschedule.
6. He could have returned my calls when I tried to find out what happened.
7. He could have recognized selling me a $300 voucher as a commitment.
8. He could have admitted his mistakes and apologized.
9. He could have actually cared.

The bottom line is that when Steven's life got complicated, he decided that he had more important things to do than my roof repair (he actually said that!). Unfortunately, he didn't feel the need to tell me I wasn't his priority until time had run out. As a result, he blew my 3-week window to get a roof leak fixed before a major storm.

Let's just say I wouldn't recommend them. :)

After having a horrible experience with two other roofing companies, I found Battalion. I was able to quickly get in touch with the owner, Stephen. From the beginning, he was professional, fair and courteous. Also, he was 50% LESS (!!!) then any other quote I received!!!

We loved this company from the start:

After the huge storm in May this year (2015) were afraid we'd have some hail damage, so we called in a roofing company recommended to us by another friend and of course our insurance adjuster to see if we needed to make repairs.

Kyle came out to look at it and he saw a hole in our roof that could easily allow water damage into our house. He immediately tarpped it for us at no charge or guarantee that we would hire him at that point. He did it just because he's a stand-up guy and didn't want our house damaged. In the end Kyle determined that we would need an entire new roof.

Then we called in the adjuster (who apparently was a new guy we found out later) and he agreed we needed repairs, but disagreed that we needed an entire new roof. Kyle was adamant that we needed it replaced and not just a band-aid, so we talked to our insurance company and they sent out another more experienced adjuster. Kyle came out to meet him personally to make sure he saw what needed to be fixed.

In the end Kyle got our insurance company agree that the entire roof needed replacing and the rest was smooth sailing! They did the entire job in 1 day and cleaned everything up as if no one was ever there. His wife and daughter stopped by a couple times to check in with us and they were just lovely! It was amazing and effortless on our part.

We've had nightmare experiences with contractors, so these guys just blew us away with their quick response time, professionalism, truthfulness, and their ability to save us money. They gave us great discounts, and incentive to recommend them to anyone, and we definitely would!

HIRE THESE GUYS IMMEDIATELY! And if FYI, we live in Steiner Ranch, so chances are you have damage too if you live in the area, don't wait for the next rainy season to make these repairs...call them now!

Difficulty getting someone out when they said they would be there, after several no shows, the roof was finally fixed but wasn't. Not really an issue as I know repairs are difficult to locate. Came back out to fix and seemed to be fixed. Problem discovered a few months later when someone else was no my roof. Apparently the shingles were not attached since they had tried to nail to rotted wood which they did not replace and I was not informed about. I tried to resolve the issue with Todd and Steven, the owner and was told that there was no warranty and that they were certain that it was not their fault that the new shingles were not attached. I trusted these guys since I have no way of crawling on the roof myself to inspect the work and was extremely disappointed to find that they had done such a poor job and worse that they were unwilling to even inspect the work before denying that they did nothing wrong. I mean at least look at it! I respect anyone who served and am saddened to say that just serving does not make you an honorable person.

Battalion Roofing's owner, Steven was true to his word. He takes care of you and if you're a veteran like me, he will give you the discount credit you deserve (which saved me thousands). The working crewmen were amazingly fast (they replaced my entire roof in one day with high quality hurricane proof shingles). Then they cleaned up all debris and even left me a few shingle packages leftover for future use. Also included a 10 year warranty on top of that. Amazing service. Highly recommended.

These guys are awesome! I had a bad experience with roofers back in 2005, so this time I made sure to read the reviews on Yelp. Battalion scored very high and when I called, they not only responded quickly, but spent over an hour with me reviewing the options and the steps I needed to take to deal with my insurance company.

My ordeal turned out to be extremely complex and lengthy (having to fight with my insurance company) but Terry O'Brien and Stephen (the owner) were by my side EVERY step of the way. I am totally grateful and appreciative to find people like Terry and Stephen. They stepped up to the plate and didn't let me down.

The bottom line here is: I got a fantastic roof, they did an incredible job, Terry and Stephen are very accessible and easy to communicate with. I'd give this company 10 stars if I could.
