Very good, high quality, attention to detail.... Scott at Barton Roofing replaced my roof and did a fantastic job. But beyond simply installing a new roof, Scott went the extra mile to ensure the job was done right.

I had some work done on my chimney by another contractor at the same time as the roof replacement and Scott showed up at my house one day with sealant for my new chimney cap and climbed up on the roof and applied it ... at no charge. He just realized it was something I needed to have done and he showed up and took care of it. Keep in mind, he has a crew that actually does the work on the roof and he doesn't normally do the work himself (other than being a runner to get the occasional additional supplies) but he has no problem getting his hands dirty, climbing up on the roof and doing whatever is necessary to get the job done and get it done right.

Barton Roofing was the *only* roofing contractor out of the 4 roofing companies that bid on my job to point out and understand that a ridge vent only works well when your house has soffit vents. He correctly recommended that I should continue to use turbine vents if I was not going to install soffit vents and I had him replace my old, rusty, slightly squeeky turbines with slick new color-matched quiet turbines. All other roofing contractors immediately quoted me ridge vents, including one contractor who actually quoted my roof job by looking at satellite photos, without asking about soffit vents or even really appearing to understand how attic ventilation works.

He even provided shingle samples for me to consider. He was not pushy or aggressive, and was patient with my decision to hire Barton Roofing. Barton Roofing re-roofed our house after years and hail had damaged it. We had no problems with the roofing they did. Original construction of our chimney created an issue later. Not knowing what the issue was, we called these guys and they came out in a very timely manner at no charge and spent time thoroughly investigating everything with us to identify the issue with the chimney. Fast forward a year or two - we were having our a/c redone and the a/c company accidentally cut two holes in the wrong place on our roof. They called Barton and Barton sent someone out the very next day who did a great patch job. We've had some heavy rain since then and those patches seem to be totally fine. We also had them fix the roof of our shed that was leaking.
Don't be offput by the owner's no-nonsense attitude. They showed up when they said they would, did quality work with no problems arising during or after, and charged reasonable fees with no unexpected charges.
