I have a flat root - about 1740 sq/ft area. Since Banner Roofing Co is a local company, I had contacted them for site visit/inspection by them. To my surprise, the owner showed up at my door on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018. He claimed that he had called and left a message (via my contact information I provided to them) to inform me that he would be coming on the date he showed up. Since he does not let you speak much & tries to overwhelm you with his continuous chatting, we could not established if he had called or not (after his departure, I checked all contact information I had given him & found no message(s) from him or his office!). Anyway, for inspection of existing conditions, he barely looked at my high roof from a top of a ladder - far away from the most problematic areas of the roof - and the low roof where the ladder was placed. He started to tell me this and that without paying attention to my explanation/description of MY NEEDS. He continued with his somewhat obnoxious behavior until I informed him that I was a Professional Engineer with very extensive experience in Architectural field. Within few minutes after informing him of my profession, he seemed to leave somewhat in a hurried way and after I inquired, he informed me that he will give me a pricing for the re-roofing of the roof with introduction of more slope to the flat roofs (even though I excluded the small lower roof from his scope, he insisted on including it prior to finding out my profession!!!). Since I found his behavior odd, I started to read reviews about this company while I was waiting for his promised proposal within a day or two.... As I read the reviews, I was not surprised with his behavior with me.. I strongly believe that he knew that his company would not be able to treat me like the others because of my profession - such as but not limited to, they typically increasing their price the next day after starting the work!! If the subject company have the experience they claim to have, they would be able to expect the ""so called hidden defects"" and discuss them with the their client prior to providing a proposal!!! Their refusal of defects in their work, etc. In summary he seems to have violated some of his contractor's license requirements which is controlled by the State of California Department of the Consumer Affairs with me and other past customers.

During April 2017 we had very high winds and a lot of our 30-year old roof came off. We are very happy with the work done by Banner Roofing. We had our roof replaced and because of a lot of dry rot problems that were discovered as the old roof was removed, we had to have additional work done. We also decided to have some architectural changes made to the roof line which were not required to repair the roof. Overall, we ended up having 4 separate contracts with Banner Roofing and all of them were completed with a very high level of quality and they exceeded our expectations on all fronts. I will provide a separate review for each contract because each one covered different things that may not be relevant to your situation.
I don't have any background in construction and I don't have any family or friends in the industry. I have never before needed to repair or replace a roof so I had no prior experience. When I went looking for a contractor to fix our roof, I think I was in the position most people are in because I needed to find someone to do a good job, but I didn't know anything about roofing. I would like to work with Mike Banner and his team again in the future.

Banner Roofing did a quality job with replacing our roof and rain gutters. We noticed a leak during level 3 rain storms and needed immediate assistance. Banner was the only company that responded quickly and covered the roof until the weather cleared. We are very thankful to Mike for coming to our rescue.

The crew was professional, on-time everyday, and worked efficiently. They kept us informed of any issues along the way. Our roof was way past due and we did require some replacement of wood. Mike was very upfront and honest with replacing only the roof areas that needed it.

He also called out that our roof had no vents for the heat to escape from the attic. He showed us exactly what was needed and why.

I would recommend Banner Roofing. They were flexible, worked very clean, made sure all debris was removed from the property, and provided excellent service. They also gave us a reasonable price for the work

After the big rains earlier this year, we discovered we had multiple leaks in our (mobile home) roof. We contacted many roofing companies, to which the majority of them said they don't work on my kind of metal roof. I did however obtain several quotes, checked All of their Contractors Lic., BBB ratings and Yes....even checked and read ALL the reviews on here.

I looked over all of the quotes I had and Mike Banner's quote had everything written out as to EXACTLY how they were going to fix the leaks, and more importantly, how they were going to prevent future leaks on our roof. He went as far as to provide us with a pamphlet of the products they were going to use on my roof. So although they were not the cheapest (not the most expensive either), We went with Banner Roofing, and so glad that we did.

The process took a total of 4 days, with the same workers all 4 days. Thank goodness for the nice, dry, warm weather we had, because that was essential to dry the material they were laying down. Anyway Rene and Stephen kept me informed and answered all the questions I had to my satisfaction.

The repairs and sealing of our roof finished on March 16, 2017, just in time to be tested for the rains we already had and are forecast to have the rest of the week. Before Rene and Stephen left, they assured me that the roof is sealed. When Mike Banner came by yesterday, he also assured us that the roof has 4 layers of products and will not leak. He also reassured us that if we do experience any leaks he will have a crew out here to take care of it.

Scheduled an appointment for estimate and was told I didn't need to be home. All I got was their business flyer left on door step. I called the office and the person said they would tell the owner but haven't heard anything and this happened last week. I guess they did me a favor. Very unprofessional. I didn't want to give any star but you have to in order to post comments.

Called banner roofing to come out and give me a quote for a tear off and re-roof on a job I'm doing in alameda, mike came out and then presented me with a quote and it was easily 5-8000 cheaper than the other bids I received from other roofing companies in the Bay Area. Mikes crew did an amazing job, there were a couple of issues, he took care of it and didn't even charge me for those, thanks to mike and his crew, I couldn't be more pleased, call them and you won't be disappointed

Totally agreed with other one star ratings. Very poor service, never answer the phone when you call, and will call you back with a blocked number, which is a hint for poor service. Mike Banner tries to be very nice when he explains the quote to you (more like an exaggeration) but will become very rude to yell at customer when you challenge him. Mike was deceiving to give me a lower quote compared to other competitors, but in the middle of the work he came up with more issues and asked for more. At the end, the trash from his work blocked my gutters and caused more issues. Finally got my roof done but feel like it was a trap. Very frustrating and would never refer this company to anyone.
