Was recommended by a friend. Wish I could say that they did a good job but Banner hasn't even started our roof. Signed the contract in July. They cashed our check weeks ago & still nothing. They are not good @ communication but they're excellent @ having us keep their sign on our yard. Neighbors have been asking when they're going to do our roof. We want to know the same. I think looking for a company that has great reviews is the way to go, not necessarily one that a friend recommends.

We own an Alameda four-plex that had some termite damage. The termite contractor's work was compete when their expertise required rebuilding a 400 SF flat roof over the carport. Their idea of a fix was a $26,000 job of some space age materials.
So I looked for an Alameda company who might jump on the job fast.
Yes, I did look for the cheapest bid and Banner came through the lowest by far. And when he did the negotiating he did warn me there could be hidden damage. I had suspected that since we had the same problem in 1992 when we bought the building.
Long story short, there was massive wet rot throughout the plywood sheets below. Mike jumped on it quickly and professionally and fixed it all in a few short days. His final invoice was still less than #2 bid.
I am relieved my problem is over and completely happy to write this review.

This guy is a complete dirt bag and a scam artist. He will quote you one price, lower than everybody else's. Then, once they start the work, suddenly theres an issue here and he didn't realize something there and unforeseen costs etc etc. Fucking headache. Not to mention, the dude was straight up rude and super pushy the entire time. Lets just say, we had to find an alternate roofing company. Avoid this jerk like the plague. Even if the competition charges double.

We semi-recently bought a two-story house, and boy did it need repairs that was overlooked during the inspection part. Because of these unforeseen events, we didn't have that much money to do extravagant repairs, and one of them was a rotting roof that was in desperate need of change. We bought the house in the summer so we didn't know the roof was rotting and prone to mold. Called up about 4 other roofing companies for an estimate, and all of them told me it would be $10k+, nope. I ended up finding Banner Roofing in Alameda, gave Mike Banner a call, and settled on an appointed date a little further than I would like, but about two days later, he gives me a call stating he was in the area and would stop by for the estimate. Great guy, very friendly! He stated he was in the business for about 30 years so he knew what he was doing, came with a nicely done brochure, and everything. He gave me a great deal when I told him all the other places were estimating $10k+ for a 1200sqf roof, and he said he'd put me in front of his big projects, which was about 2 weeks later. He was cautious about weather since it rained for a few days, delaying the agreed start date, but he kept me updated and on when his guys would arrive. Once they got started on the roof, it was all done in about 2 and a half days; took everything off, and put in the nice looking shingles! When they were doing that, Mike informed me that the house had no vents in it and said he would install them just for a few hundred. Everything looks great, everything went great, they cleaned up nicely afterward, although, some roofing materials did fall into my backyard and they didn't clean that up, but I don't blame them since I had dogs in the back. Mike did a check up call the following days to see how much I like the roof and if there were any leakages or problems. Overall, I would come back to Banner Roofing for any services they offer!

After a big rain and discovering I had a bad leak, it was so nice to call a roofing company and not get a voice mail that was never answered. Mike came out that day, took pictures of the areas of the roof that needed repaired, and clearly explained the problems to me. I felt that I could make an informed decision. His crew was able to fix the roof. I feel extremely confident that my roof is repaired correctly and I will not have these problems in the future. I would highly recommend Banner Roofing.

Banner Roofing did repairs around my skylight in 2016 and 2017, so I was familiar with them. The owner/manager was quick to respond to calls, as well as knowledgeable and helpful. Working through the details of a full roof project and low-cost financing for an efficient, highly sun-reflective roof (making it energy-efficient) was straightforward. The contract was easy to understand, just the expected length and complexity. There was no sales language and not a lot of legalese. In summer 2018, the new roof went on.

Banner Roofing's team was fast, neat, professional and as quiet as a roofing outfit can be! The guys were really hard-working, arrived early and kept at their work each day until each stage was complete. They didn't look left or right unless I asked a question or addressed them, in which case they were always polite.

As well, I interviewed a total of four companies and the pricing was very competitive.

Now that the rains have come, I am very grateful for a new roof. Thank you, Banner Roofing!

We just had Banner Roofing replace our roof, and I am satisfied with the experience. We had a small leak last winter, and the roof needed replacing after 18 years. Mike Banner gave us an estimate, but after stripping the roof he showed me the poor workmanship of the original roof and the subsequent repairs that would be required due to the use of low quality materials used by the contractor 18 years ago. I could see with my own eyes the value of having the dry-rot and poor quality materials replaced. Mike gave me a fair deal on the further repairs, and I watched as his crew did a quality job replacing our roof. He doesn't have x-ray vision can't see what is hidden under your old roof. Mike could have redone the old roof and not made the repairs he did, but I am glad he showed me the problems that were there and fixed them. The roof looks good and the structure beneath it is much stronger than it was before. Our house was built in 1922. Every time I start a project on our house I know it will be bigger than I thought, and involve problems that I could never foresee, but I want it to be better and stronger when I am done. I think Mike Banner thinks the same way.

I had this company Banner Roofing come give me estiment on my home in San Leandro...I was not only impressed with Mr.Banner on how he went about his business impressive I accepted his bid and his well oiled machine of workers came did a GREAT JOB on my roof and rain gutters ....I recently had Banner Roofing come and do my Mothers roof...I again say...I am so impressed with the job they did ...but also how both jobs were carried out...If you want your roof done right ...In a timely matter with a company that seemed like there was nothing Banner Roofing would not do to make your roof perfect...
I just want to convey how HAPPY with the work BANNER ROOFING did for me and my Mother.
