    B. Griffith installed new roofing on the flat roof portion of our waterfront home in 2010. It has survived multiple hurricanes, including Helene and Milton with absolutely no issues. Still perfect after 15 years and plenty of abuse from the weather.

    SCAM ARTISTS!!! BEWARE!

First off, they snuck into the contract a clause indicating that they do not have to get authorization to replace any rotted wood. These guys charged me $2,090 worth of deck board replacement and another $1,000 in rafter tails. My handyman and I decided to double check the accuracy of these figures and guess what? The actual amount of deck board was only $800.00 and the actual amount of rafter tails was $150. That's a 70% overcharge that they would have gotten away with had I not taken the initiative and checked behind them as the original figure seemed astronomical!

No apologies, just insults from the VERY rude and unprofessional woman named Carol who works in the office and who called me a loser that did not want to pay his bill when I brought up the discrepancy. She also threatened to write a negative review about my company who's services she DIDN'T retain in the event that I wrote this honest review about their company.

Just a horrible all around experience! Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

I purchased my home after they did the roof. The paperwork and building permit did not indicate what part of the roof they did. I have called for 3 days trying to speak to the owner. Today the phone service woman yelled at me and hung up on me. She was angry because I had said, ""a professional company would return calls."" She threatened that she would play the voice message for the owner; I hope she does. It's been 3 work days and he still hasn't returned my calls. She probably hasn't even given him my message.

We hired B Griffith Roofing to replace our tile roof $32,500 and to add 4"" of insulation $17,000 more. Half way through the job we were told that they could not add 4"" of insulation only two inches and that it would still be $17,000 because they had to put plywood on top of the insulation. We told Brent that we wanted the 4"" of insulation- the whole reason we agreed to pay so much for a roof. We never agreed to the plywood vs insulation financial swap. Big problem #1. After the roof was completed the billed us for $12,500 in additional charges. All of these charges we either for work that was never done, inflated prices from the ones quoted on their contract. They claimed they installed 720' of cedar. They only installed 420'. Charging us $14.50 per foot. They claimed they had an electrician replace conduit over my garage roof- this was done weeks before by a company I hired and they just happen to have a picture of the conduit B Griffith claims to have been replaced. The electrician was at our house for less then an hour and the bill was $480- what electrician makes that per hour. Everything on our bill was with false or an over charge. We also got the bill by certified mail with a notice to pay their bogus charges or they would put a lien on our house. We contacted the company several times trying to get the bill fixed. They did send us a second bill still with overcharges. We are looking to go to the licensing board and filing a complaint and also filing charges of fraudulent billing. Do not use this company. They are dishonest.

I asked several different roofing contractors to provide an estimate for the repair/replacement of a flat section of my roof, which had begun to leak severely. At the same time my air conditioner went out, and we had to replace it. The air conditioning company representative recommended Brent to me, so I called him. Brent came to my house the same day as I called him, gave me an estimate and two days later his men were here to start AND complete the job that day. We have had several storms since then, and I am pleased to announce that there are no leaks.

Of the roofing companies I contacted, one's bid was nearly twice as high as Griffith's, one never got back to me with a bid, one was too busy to come to my house, and another provided a low bid, which I rejected. I was amazed that Brent appeared to have dropped everything to meet our needs.

I can only offer positive comments about this company and am most happy with the entire process. Every part of this experience was completed in a most prfessional manner.

I recommend Griffith Roofing to everyone. You will be very pleased and never disappointed.

Our roof was damaged by Hurricane Irma. We have had to have roof work done before and after getting recommendations from neighbors, we called 6 different roofing companies for estimates. Brent, the owner of B Griffith, came out to do our estimate. He was professional and informative. We had received conflicting information from other companies, but when we did our research, Brent had given us the most accurate information about our roof. His quote was also the most competitive. He was able to do the job the soonest, which was another plus, as we were concerned about the possibility of further damage by other storms. His crews were extremely courteous and prompt, left no damage, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. They even came back to check the roof when our insurance inspector reported some exposed nail heads. Except for that, the insurance adjuster was also quite impressed with the quality of the work and the price we received. we don't know why other people reported problems with this company, because we couldn't be happier. We are recommending B Griffith to our son, who also needs to replace his roof due to storm damage.

Be warned - the owner does not have control over his own company and is not to be trusted. His office is run by his daughter and partner, who the owner admits have been the source of many customer issues. I had obtained quotes from several roofers to get my tile and flat roofs replaced. B Griffith quoted $13,500 for tile and $6,200 for a tapered system. Additionally, they quoted my solar installer $2000 to install supports. The owner, Brent Griffith, told me on many occasions that he would inform me of and request permission for additional charges before performing work. Work started on 5/23 in which they removed tile, put down new underlayment for both roofs, and installed the tapered roof. No one mentioned any additional work. In the process of re-roofing on 5/23, one of their workers put a hole in my guest room ceiling (I could see through to the sky). Brent said he would cover the repair, so I hired a drywall contractor. They also damaged the gutters on the front of my home when removing tile. There were multiple witnesses to the above, including my solar installer who stopped by to see that the supports would be installed properly, and a water mitigation company. We saw that the decking and rafter wood under the flat roof was original. Weeks went by with no mention of additional woodwork. I discussed payment with Brent and he said I could pay with a credit card and would split the CC fee. His office manager/partner (not wife, but they live together), left me a nasty voicemail accusing me of demanding to split the fee and attacking my character after they ""had gone out of their way for me already"". This was a red flag, but I told her I'd write a check if it was an issue. Tile arrived weeks later and work was completed on 6/27. On 6/28, I wrote them a check for the contract price in full of $19,700. They cashed it and THEN sent me an email telling me there would be another invoice for woodwork. This was a surprise since the owner had told me his crew said nothing to him about woodwork. I replied telling them what the owner had said, and that I would not be paying for anything I wasn't made aware of and that I didn't approve. At this point, they started responding with more nasty emails. Before even sending a quote for claimed woodwork, the office sent me an email threatening to place a lien on my home and hold warranties & insurance docs hostage. I called the owner immediately, and he reiterated that his crew had not mentioned woodwork to him, and that he would accept the $19,700 as paid in full. He also committed to repairing the hole in the ceiling and to repairing the gutters. The office responded countering what the owner said, with quote, ""My dad said to let you know that I am handling this in the office and that you do not need to call him as he is out of it."" I thought - Is this a good cop/bad cop scam? I got my attorney involved. B Griffith's office sent me an invoice for $825 for 120' of woodwork on the tile roof and 30' of woodwork on the flat roof. I got up into my attic and did not see 120' of new wood under the tile. With the ceiling cut out of the flat roof, I could only see original wood. This was gouging and dishonesty. They sent my solar installer a surprise invoice for an ADDITIONAL $3800 for installing the supports. That's $5800 for a $2000 original invoice. This amount was included in the Notice to Owner they sent - the basis for their lien. They claimed they were there for an additional 24 hours to do that work, but they were not at my home for more than 4 days to do the entire job. The solar installer paid the $5800 invoice to try to stop them from placing a lien. Nasty emails cont'd - backed out of providing promised insurance documents, accused me of not understanding English, refused to pay the drywall contractor (claiming his invoice was not good enough, leaving me with a half repaired ceiling as he did not return to finish when he realized he was not getting paid), and refused to fix my gutters, accused me of trying to scam their company, and sending statements like ""please stop wasting our time with your useless opinions as they do not matter (I too have my personal opinions about you but I will not lower myself to your level - lol)"". I requested the documents they were obligated to provide in exchange for the woodwork payment. They refused to send the documents to my lawyer even when he had my certified check in hand to pay them. They kept accusing me of trying to scam them when my lawyer and I were trying to pay them. Eventually, my lawyer had to send them a certified check before getting a release of lien - a risky proposition given their deceptive behavior. I had to order an inspection because they would not provide a roofing certificate. My ceiling and gutters are still damaged. I have filed a complaint with the contracting board. Do not hire. They will likely gouge you, weasel out of damaging your property, and attack your character while doing it.

We contracted with Brent Griffith due to the initial consultation, when he seemed very detailed oriented with providing information and shingle samples. He provided the most expensive quote of 3 contractors (significant difference), but upon learning of how high he was above the other 2 reputable businesses, he lowered the quote a bit. Once work started, our pleasure with the way B. Griffith handled business evaporated. Work stretched out over an excessive period, not just due to weather. No contact from Brent to inform us when work would be completed. We had to hound him to get information and finish the job. Two of his employees showed up one morning, got into a loud arguing match making a scene, and eventually left after doing nothing. Other workers left litter around the yard, and roofing nails were left everywhere. We had to repeatedly get workers out to finish the job. In one instance due to untreated raw wood being used and left exposed when the contract clearly stated wood will be primed. Again, no correspondence from the company and no final inspection. We ultimately got an invoice a month or so after they assumed they completed the work. Then when we had to get info on termination of work with the county, they just blew us off. Be careful with this company. First impression was great, but that was it.

Everything with my reroof by B Griffith went very well - until the work crews left and I paid my invoice - that's when I noticed a dent in my garage door where the B Griffith truck had been.

We had a painter over to paint our house just before the roofing crew had finished. The roofing crew's truck was parked right up against my garage door so close the painter told me he wouldn't be able to finish the garage door until the B Griffith truck was gone.

After all the roofing and painting work was completed, I went to take pictures of my house and noticed the dent. Even though the painter's truck was not near the garage door and B Griffith's truck was, I called both parties to ask about the dent. The painter called me back and said he didn't know when the door was dented. B Griffith, on the other hand, didn't call me back, but instead emailed me later claiming they did not even have a truck in my driveway (definitely false), and it was the painter who dented the door, covered it up with his paint, and was probably attempting to ""throw it back"" on B Griffith (I'm not into conspiracy theories).

I don't have any confidence in their honesty. If they won't admit having a truck in my driveway, they certainly aren't going to admit to a simple mistake like bumping my garage door.

Was very satisfied with the work we received from this company. The crew was very nice, respectful and worked very hard ... no breaks just lunch ! They even cleaned up afterwards and not a nail or anything left behind. Would recommend this company highly.
