Recommended Customer Reviews
Great service. They may be a bit pricey but they definitely care about their work. I just had some siding work done on my house and am pleased with the results. I had several quotes and they were not the cheapest but they really care about their customers and their work was excellent. Jerry was helpful and worked with me. Everything was done to my satisfaction. You won't be sorry if you hire this company.
Jay A.Austin Pro Siding & Windows replaced my old single pane windows with double pane vinyl (Simonton Prism). Last winter was a good test for a new windows and I'm very satisfied with the result. Paul is a really great guy and I would definitely recommend his business. There were some issues during the installation but Paul was able to lead the resolution of the issues until the project was completed. I was impressed with the service I got from Paul as he demonstrated that he was not just a salesman but a true business owner concerned with the needs of his customers. My overall experience was good. Perhaps the only downside was the install crew who in my opinion were not ready for leading themselves and they required supervision from both Paul and the crew manager. That caused the project to take longer than expected. But again I was impressed with the way that Paul followed through with the resolution of every issue I reported.
Kyle B.Austin Pro Siding just replaced the siding on our entire house and repainted the whole exterior. It looks better than any house in the neighborhood and our entire experience has been great! The price was better than any other quote, and they were able to get the material in and finish the job ahead of schedule.
Throughout the job Paul checked in to make sure we were okay with the progress and to make sure the details were right. Every single item was perfect before he even brought up final payment -- more than I can say about some other contractors...
Easy to work with, good price, great quality. I've already recommended them to my neighbors and would to anyone.
We had a great experience with Paul and his crew. Windows installed look great, definitely made a difference in temperature for us. The crew were set back a day because of ice, but showed up ready to go the next day and worked hard all day. Paul was great to work with, and very communicative. Thanks!
When we first started looking at replacing our windows, it was a Goldilocks experience. The salesman for a large company was impatient and didn't seem to care about our simple project. The salesman for a small company didn't even offer a labor warranty and seemed inexperienced. Austin Pro Siding was just right: Our salesman, Jerry, sat down with us and gave us our options; he was knowledgeable and friendly. The work crew finished the job in one day. They were very professional and polite, and did a very good job covering furniture and cleaning up afterward. When we did our walk-through, they had no problems fixing small, nitpicky details. Afterward, Paul showed up and we did a second walk-through, which was nice.
The only issue we had was one of the windows delivered was supposed to be obscured and a screen seemed a little wonky. (Obviously, this is an issue with Simonton, not Austin Pro Siding--it was right on the order form.) Jerry brought in the new sashes and screen as soon as they arrived and installed them for us, no problem.
Overall, we are very happy with the work and our windows.
Paul came highly recommended by a dear friend and I was eager to get the process started of replacing all the windows in my house. He seemed like a nice guy and was pretty thorough in measurements. The quote came back great. I was told it would take 3 days to replace the 30+ windows in my house with 3-5 workers taking care of things. It took them 9 days and most of the time only 2 people were working.
When 1 person showed up at 9:30 as the start time I was a little surprised, another worker arrived at about 10. They worked until 4:00. The next day the same 1 person showed up at 8:00, the second person arrived at 12:30, they immediately took a lunch break for 1 1/2 hours and started again at 2 working until 7 that night.
It was horrible, for 4 days they did not come back (2 of those days were expected because of holiday) - all the bedroom windows had huge gaps left in them. Temperatures at night at this time were in the 20's and 30's. My 2 small children both got sore throats due to sleeping in such weather. Finally they came back and sealed all the gaps - it took only about an hour to do all the sealing. It was so infuriating that they could have easily done it before giving themselves a 4 day break.
Work progressed over the next few days and in that time one worker got caulk all over my son's bed, all over one of my dressers, all over the wall and the carpet. Very sloppy, I am grateful that one worker was very carful and fixed all the mistakes but the damage had already been done.
I am grateful that they finally finished and the window quality (Don Young) is excellent. Overall, I am very disappointed with choosing to hire this team.
Kyle W.Where to begin...
I guess I'll start with the good:
Paul was a nice enough guy.
The window quality seems pretty solid.
The warranty is great with double lifetime on all but one of our windows and lifetime on that one.
The other stuff:
We ordered 11 of the Simonton Prism Gold windows in White Vinyl. On the day of install, I received a call from Paul saying, ""it looks like the warehouse missed a window, oh, and by the way, your windows are beige prism bronze ."" WTF. I was encouraged to go take a look at the windows and not rush to a decision about removing them and getting white vinyl put in. So, I go to the house, the install guys had slowed down the progress on my hardwood floor install. The windows were beige while the trim through my entire house is white, so yes, they look horrible.
I was offered a substantial discount to keep the windows. But after about 2 minutes of thinking, ""wait a second, we didn't put all this attention to detail in the rest of our remodel only to have windows that didn't match throughout our house,"" we decided to have them removed and have the white windows installed.
The problem with this plan is twofold. One, since they installed beige windows, they used beige caulking which would have to be removed, pulling away our new paint with it. Two, since the windows would have to be reordered, we would have to wait another three weeks before a reinstall. So, since the only reason we picked APS&W, was because they could get our windows in before our move in date, we now had to move into the house, unable to install the security system, and would have to have a crew come and disrupt our house once more.
So, white windows were ordered we received about 400$ off of the bill and everything was on its way. We survived without the security system and one old metal window for about 3 weeks. Then, install day arrives. Raiders Custom Exteriors lead the install. The main guy, Steven came by in the morning, we discussed some details of how I wanted the quarter-round removed on all the windows. he said ""all, ok sure, we're running late should be over in an hour.""
Window crew arrives, lead from that group, Tommy comes up, we discuss the quarter round, he says ""all, ok sure, the other part of the team should be here soon.""
I made sure we had white windows and went to work.
I come back later in the day to do a walk through. What do I see? Quarter round on half of the windows. ""Ok, take it off, we talked about this"" ""oh, I thought we decided to leave it on where there was brick"" ""no take it off"" ""all, ok, sure""
I hear grumbling from upstairs as the guys doing the actual work were told they had to remove quarter round and re-caulk. Big man comes through and tells them to go light on your caulk we're running low. I don't bother with this, who even knows how this will affect me in the long run.
They cleaned up, we paid the balance, they left. At the end of the day, we got all the windows in the color we ordered. One window opens the opposite of the way we ordered it, but by the time they had it in the wall I was done with the whole ordeal.
I'm sure good work can be done by this same crew, but our experience was not that at all. This was Paul's first time with this crew and apparently his first time ordering windows. Blame was ultimately placed on the warehouse, but who even knows.
Bottom line with all of this, go somewhere a little bit more established with more reviews and a longer history in Austin.
Paul and his crew helped me with new siding and windows. The price was very reasonable and the great thing about Paul is communication. He stays in touch with you regularly to keep you updated on the progress of the job. You never have to wonder, ""What's going on with the work on my house..."" because Paul is very accessible. All of his crew members seemed like quality guys. They did things like offer to install a new lighting fixture and doorbell after the new siding. Paul kept in touch with us on the finishing minor details until we were completely satisfied.
Mandy G.We are so happy with the work Austin Pro Siding did to our new home. We are first time home buyers, so doing a project like this was rather nerve racking, but every step of the process was brought with ease and comfort. Paul and the crew are fantastic! All of our options were well explained and the finished product is wonderful. I love pulling into our driveway and seeing the exterior of our home now! I will certainly recommend them to friends and family and if our house ever needs new windows or additional siding replaced, I know where to go!
richie r.I'm very pleased with the product, service, and price. Paul was very friendly and professional, and the same goes for the installation crew. I couldn't be more happy with my beautiful new windows, and I'm sure they've enhanced the value of my property far beyond what I paid for them.
