Greetings, let me take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Jim Doughty, the proud owner of Auburn Roofing, Inc. In 1973, while I was a student at Cal State Hayward, I found a summer position with a roofing contractor. I stayed in roofing and that same year, in 1979, I received a contractor's license. Also in 1979, I settled in Auburn and started Auburn Roofing, and by 1993, we incorporated.

We take pride in the craftsmanship and quality. The partners we work with we select are equally dedicated to quality in their products and services. ABC Supply and RSG deliver our roofing materials to our location, and our lumber supplier, Diamond Pacific supplies our lumber. Our choice of are from Owens Corning. These shingles come with a limited lifetime warranty, along with warranties that are pro-rated. However, we can also source different roofing materials that you require.

We are grateful for your interest in Auburn Roofing, Inc. your re-roofing project.

Highly recommend this company. Professional start to finish. We are very happy with the results as well as the courtesy with which we were treated by both office staff and workers. The job was done in record time (much more quickly than several neighbors who recently re-roofed), and they left our yard immaculate.

We purchase a home two years ago and the sellers had to replace the roof before we signed the final paper work. We later found out our roof was only partly re-roofed in the front and they did a repair in the back part of the house. It was patched up and we did not know until it rained this past winter. We tried to reach out to several contractors and they would never call us back. Our neighbor used Auburn Roofing and was very pleased with the work. I contacted Auburn Roofing and spoke to Ellie. She was very professional and knowledgeable. The very next day Jim Doughty the owner called to setup a estimate within a month the job was completed. Fernando and his crew were very thorough and professional. He went above and beyond multiple times during our project and answered any questions that I had. The whole crew was professional and cleaned up perfectly! I highly recommended Auburn Roofing.

Called three roofers and got estimates from all, Auburn Roofing was the least expensive and did more work. They are reliable, friendly and did a great job. They did a great job cleaning up, too. We are very happy with the roof & gutters and highly recommend Auburn Roofing.

Buyer & Seller Beware!! We purchased our house 1.5 years ago and the sellers presented us with the re-roof receipts/contract that was done about 4 years prior. The contract states a 10 year warranty on the labor (50 year materials). We had a leak in the roof this winter and I spoke to Auburn Roofing. I was told their warranty does carry over to a new home owner. This is not stated in the contract and even the guy I spoke to admitted this. The leak we have is a small issue, so I had someone else take care of it because I really didn't want to fight a legal battle over a $300 repair.

Summary: If you are getting ready to sell your house, definitely don't go with Auburn Roofing, they will screw your sellers on any warranty coverage.

Issue 2: a year ago I tried to get them to bid a new barn roof install. I was told I needed to print all of my plans and bring them into their office. Every other roofer I dealt with would accept an email of my PDF plans. I didn't both to get a bid from Auburn Roofing (thankfully)

For our barn, we used Bob Jan's roofing. They were amazing and probably the best customer service and price from all of our barn contractors.

Called Auburn Roofing in September for a roof leak repair and was told they could not come out for an estimate until December and could not do the repair until January (obviously I should have moved on this earlier but this needs to get done before the rain comes). Called back several days later for a reroof and was told they could come out in a few weeks for the estimate AND full reroof. They seem to be available for a full reroof so soon but can't fix my leak in the same timeframe. (Is the guy below me from Oakland but sounds like he lives in Auburn?)

Fantastic company to deal with. Jim and his family run a great company. They did our roof last year and we were very satisfied with the employees and completion of the job. My brother also had them do his roof and he has zero complaints about their work!!!

Called Auburn Roofing twice in the last six months asking for help with my roofing issues. The first call was Oct 2017 and the 2nd call was a few days ago in Feb 2018. Both times they wouldn't help, too busy. I explained my problem was not immediate but I was told they were not interested in a dismissive way. I found the company to be arrogant and uncaring. I still need some help with my roofing problems but I certainly will not be calling Auburn Roofing.

I paid for a 40 yr. composition roof. Within 10 yrs the peak caps were shot. I called Auburn
Roofing and was told the peak caps were not part of the roof. I asked what they are a part of and did not receive an adequate answer except to be told the peak caps were not guaranteed for 40 yrs. If you deal with these people be sure to know what you are getting and to get it all down in writing. I'll be using someone else for our next roof. Dave

Called Auburn roofing for some long term leaks that finally needed attention. We had to leave home for a few days but we needed the repair before the next big rain. Jim said his workers could come by and scope out the problem. He wanted to work on time and material and I was skeptical. I needed it done so I allowed him to proceed as long as they took pictures of the problem as they worked. After several hours he has a better idea of the problems, gave me a close estimate and I told him to proceed. When we got home they were just finishing the job. The workers were great and professional. We were very happy with the work and they actually came under bid. We would use them again without hesitation.

In January I called Auburn Roofing to work on our rental unit on Upper Valley Road. We needed a roof leak repaired for our 10 year old house with tile roofing. The valley area above the master bedroom was jammed with leaves and debris and was causing the water to backup and flow underneath the flashing. I needed this to be cleaned out and repaired to stop the leak. I also asked for them to clean our gutters. The first problem I had was that Auburn Roofing came out to do the leak only and did not clean the gutters. I called them and they apologized and stated they ""forgot to put it on the work order"". So, they went back out to the property a second time just to they can clean the gutters. I asked for them not to charge me the 2nd travel fee, since they made the mistake of not handling all the work in one visit.

Last week I received an email from our tenant that Auburn Roofing left a huge mess on site, mud and such were flung all over the side of the house, on the patio furniture and large cement roofing material was left behind. So I called them to go out to clean up their mess. Hopefully they will comply because today I received a call from our tenant stating the leak that was suppose to be repaired has gotten a whole lot worse and now the drywall is completely soaked. I called Auburn Roofing AGAIN and they said, ""You know, we just don't guarantee our work at all."" I said, ""Really? We hired you to fix a leak and normally your technician would investigate the issue, call us and let us know exactly what is causing it and if further work needed to be done to correct the issue. Yet, we received no notification from you or from your technician."" They stated, ""I have your file right here in front of me and nothing is noted."" FYI - I paid them for one hour of work, which was very cheap, and probably too cheap because the technician most likely didn't do any type of inspections whatsoever.

To make a long story short, don't call these people.
