I began my journey in contracting as a painter and carpenter's apprentice during my teenage years in the 1980s in Louisiana. In an environment filled with talented contractors and fierce competition, I gained knowledge from some of the best in the business. Contracts were often informal, and your credibility was tied to your references.

My initial venture supported my college expenses. Juggling a construction company and college was tough (especially without online options), yet I completed my degree.

While this industry has its share of challenges, I always emphasize customer service and client satisfaction. I possess several certifications in both Texas and Louisiana, and I am proud to serve the wonderful state of Texas.

Thomas Kiefer, the owner of Atom Contracting, brings more than 30 years of contracting and craftsmanship experience. He began his journey restoring historic structures in New Orleans, gaining insights from generations of talented tradespeople. Having witnessed the effects of storms on homes and communities, Thomas developed a strong bond with the Permian Basin and has made Texas his home ever since.
