As a teenager in the 1980s, I entered the contracting world as a painter and carpenter's apprentice in Louisiana. In a place where skilled contractors were plentiful and competition was tough, I gained knowledge from some of the best in the business. Work was secured with a simple handshake, and your standing relied on your references.

My initial venture supported my college expenses. It was a struggle to run a construction business while attending college (before the era of online classes), but I succeeded in finishing my studies.

This field has presented numerous challenges, but my focus remains on customer service and satisfaction. I hold multiple certifications in Texas and Louisiana and take pride in serving the great state of Texas.

Atom Contracting is led by Thomas Kiefer, who has over 30 years of experience as a contractor and craftsman. He began his journey restoring historic structures in New Orleans, gaining insights from generations of talented tradespeople. After seeing the impact of storms on residences and communities, Thomas felt a deep connection to the Permian Basin and has called Texas home ever since.
